Please don't take my criticisms as lack of gratitude but, I think it could be graphically stronger. I LOVE the Kingdom to Kingdom phrase and I love that it is in the two different fonts. How about a larger version of the map that shows the various ports of call with an appropriate castle marking both endpoints?

I would also use a more neutral font for the words "from" and "to" in the phrase "from kingdom to kingdom" so that the "special" fonts really stand out. I would probably put the map below "from kingdom to kingdom" and then have the rest of the explanatory text below the map. I don' t know what is out there BUT it would be really neat if most of the words are actually in the DCL sort of art deco font? Asking for the world?

Also I think I prefer the flags just going across the bottom... maybe across the bottom and the top but not up the sides? I'd have to see it. Also in doing the flags I would do the US Flag on both ends of the string of flags so that it ends up in all 4 corners. I'm going to show my ignorance on this but I assume those are flags of the countries whose ports we are stopping in? Since we are beginning and ending in the US I think it would be appropriate.

I just spent the last few years of my life in a M. Architecture program so I can't help myself, it's beat into us to constantly refine and make things (even things that are really nice to begin wtih!) better. I also don't really have any photoshop type software or else I would put my time where my mouth is. Maybe after we settle into our new place I can find something and mess around with it rather than sitting here and just being the critic.

I, too, like the map, and was also thinking of a USA flag at the beginning and end. Other than that, I just like the idea. Great job so far, and I can't wait to OWN one of my very own!!!

OK I'm joining the fray...

We have 2 rooms and 5 people and waitlisted for a cat 3 because there is always hope!

Rob (me, 30...who is just turning 30??? I just did less than two weeks ago) and my partner Larry (39) are in 6636. We wanted 6634 but *someone* else took it!!! Imagine that! We will be sure to bang on the walls! We too are CMs and DVC members.

Mom (Sharon, old), Dad (Bob, older hehe, they are both in their 50s), and sister (Mary, 22) are in room 7628. The price for 3 people in a room in cat 7 is the same as the current price for 2 people in a room. Wow!!

We are planning to stay the weekend at Disneyland after the cruise. Guess I have to wait for the 2005 DVC point charts to come out for Disneyland.

Oh and I bought in at Saratoga Springs before the price increase this weekend. I think I obligated about $30,000 to Disney this week. I'm sure the shareholders are overjoyed (this one isn't, he has to pay the bills!).

I'm cruising on the Magic in a couple of weeks, May 29. At this rate I will *never* make it to the western Carib. We had planned to do back to back cruises in April 2005 (still waiting to hear on the discount/shipboard credit transfer to the new ressie) so we will be cancelling those. We just cruised in January (eastern) and have cruised several times on the 3-day Wonder.

Robin~ Have Ali's Dad rent the cash equivalent of points to cover her fare & pay you in cash. Rentals go for $10 a point. Example- Her Fare is $1000. He would need to rent 100 points to cover her fare. He can rent them easily on the rent/trade DVC board. I did that for our April cruise, as there were no point bookings left when I called in January. The cash ressie was much cheaper.

No my ressie is not with DU. It's w/ DCL but it's a different issue... they are working on it. I do not plan on transferring it until it is resolved to my satisfaction... Especially after reading about the DU situation that you, Juli and others have. Good luck with that. Be patient. Good things come to those that wait... Pixie dust to all of you...

Jeff- Great job on the page & the Door Magnet! So creative! I agree with kellib36- just add the US flag at the end for California, or how about Sleeping Beauty's Castle?

Turnwrench~ Thanks for the DL info. Here's some info I got from DCL CMs. On 5/6 I called to book an add on of a resort stay for 2 days after our voyage. The CM said the space was booking up quick & all they had left was DL hotel not the Californian, which we wanted. We planned out our trip over the weekend & decided to add a 3rd day & fly home on 5/31- the day after Memorial Day. Spoke to another CM today, she checked and found space for us at the Californian- cool! We booked it, but it is expensive, as it includes 4 day hoppers, which we don't need- we are only 3 days on site. I call DL CRO- they can't even book these rooms for this time period- only available online for 5/05 & beyond & are packaged with more stuff- clocks, walking with Walt tour, etc.., which we don't want either. She said very few rooms will be available to book A la Carte when they do become available to CRO, as they are going fast. I'm going to keep my eye on it to see if booking separately will be the cheaper option. Interesting - the frenzy is happening at the resort level too, not just the Cruise Line for CA! We are waiting for DVC point chart to come out for 2005, as that's an option too- if any are left....

Welcome new DIS cruisers rcostello1 & laurabearz! Happy Bday Rob! A milestone. You won't regret purchasing DVC. It's great! We were in 7624 in April- Navigator verandah- very cozy. 7628 is the last Nav. verandah Aft. It's very quiet back there. I liked it!

I love the door magnets... especially the border going all the way around. It makes a nice statement. Also love Kingdom to Kingdom in the fonts associated with MK in FL and MK in CA.

Thanks. Here is version #2

I like this one a bit better. I still haven't found the exact Disney Cruise Line font, but the only common letters are the C and the S so I can steal those and recolor and resize as necessary if we go this way. Also the map is a very small graphic on the disney site, so I don't think its going to print out great without some touch up work (which I can definitely do, its just time consuming for something that is currently a draft). The webpage is on a black background just to offsite the white sides of the image. Also I added gautemala's flag which I missed on the first one (I cropped it out of the bar by mistake, and never noticed) and I'll obviously add it back to that image if we decide to work that direction.

I'm thinking of doing the entire ships deck plan (at least for the decks with rooms) like this, just to indicate where all the disboarders are. What do you guys think?

Sounds like there's going to be a whole lotta banging going on on deck 6!

Actually, to look at that deck plan, it doesn't seem like it's nearly as taken over by DISers as it first sounded!

I like the second door magnet proposal. I think if you want to do the border all around (the preference expressed by bonzie1), it might look better if the flags were stacked instead of changing direction.

Also for the date, how about May 14 - May 28 2005 wtih May 14 in WDW font and May 28 in DL font?

I don't know if the stacked flags will look good, but I can try it.

Also, if you go to the page http://www.tiggerfan.net/canal/ you can click on the "See where we are staying link" and I've got everyone up there like I did deck 6 earlier. I'll update that as well.

As far as deck 6 goes, I know there are a few people that are there that haven't sent me info (either because they don't want to, which is fine, or because they haven't gotten a round tuit yet), but compared to the initial group I think we have spread out some. Looks like the main elevator area is the happening place, with another large cluster aft.
