20050514..May 14, 2005...Official Check in Disney's 1st 14 Day thru Panama Canal Part 3

Our docs just came! I had not called DCL yet..was just kind of waiting it out. But after I got them I ran the UPS tracking number. The first page said "your package is in the system and on time - Delivery date May 2nd." When I clicked on the tracking # it showed that they were logged in Orlando Wednesday night, scheduled for delivery on May 2 - and actually arrived here today!

I did notice something on the documents that I hadn't really considered before though. The fare for our DD, 5, works out to be just over $100.00 per day. That's not bad considering all the food, the entertainment, the club (or playground as she calls it), the cabin, the pampering, the MAGIC! Not to mention that little 'ol canal.

Anyway, for those checking those tracking numbers, hope your's arrive ahead of the scheduled delivery too!

Hi, Linda, Renae and Celeste!!
Don't forget fry sauce!! I always love to see the looks I receive when we ask for fry sauce anywhere else.

--Emily

OKAY, Make it four of us are from Utah!!! How exciting. Fry sauce- I can actually ask for mayo and ketchup, mix it and eat it with my fries in Wisconsin and they don't look at me like I'm crazy. They just don't call it fry sauce.
When I was in MA, they looked at me like I had four heads.

However, I am amused that McDonalds has it premixed and prepackaged- amusing.

What is the name of that great Pastrimi burger place by the Triad?

Hey Linda,

Can you bring us some hard rolls from the Roof? Just kidding, there will be more than enough to eat on board... lol

Renae

:cool1: WHEW - what a day - went to Polynesian and got some cool shirts for tropical night and also picked up some neat leis from the front desk at Poly. The leis were pink today.

Dropped by Contemporary for pin trading and the place was packed.

Talked to some cast members who said they signed up for our cruise (get that - OUR CRUISE !!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

FOR ONLY $500 - should I believe that????? don't know........

If there was a wait list, why do they give cast members the price of $500??

OH WELL.............................

So I got PJ's now and a tropical shirt. No flashy, thingies or light up thongs yet. Maybe I will just skip those. Can't afford the shoes now, those dang shirts cost $40 each.. Can't take it with me, so better spend it now. :rotfl: :rotfl:

You can add some more!
We have not lived there for many years, but DH and I met at USU.

GO AGGIES!

No Docs for us yet.
I did talk to our TA, word from DCL is that they have been printed, but have to go to him first - then on to us.... so no doubt ours will be some of the last to arrive.

Congrats to all who DID get theirs!

Hey Georgie,
I sang your Pirate Shopping song over and over today as I whipped out the plastic again and again!

FANTASMIC & PARADE VIEWING INFO

I found this page online, and it really helped to explain (with pics) the different Fantasmic seating areas and parade viewing options. Thought some others hitting Disneyland after the cruise might be interested. I don't think it's up to date as far as price, but the explanation of some of the seating arrangements was helpful.

http://www.mouseplanet.com/more/mm010710.htm

I was calling this morning to try and get Fantasmic balcony seats for our little group of three. We're staying concierge, but they couldn't handle these reservations for us. I honestly don't see why since concierge book EVERYTHING else at WDW or DL. But I was willing to call. My dad's the one who's been talking to the concierge staff, but he had a meeting today from 10:30-11:30, so he asked me to call.

WELL!

The concierge person gave us the WRONG PHONE NUMBER!!! Two of the digits were transposed. I kept getting the "Verizon wireless cannot connect" message, but I've gotten that before instead of busy signals or if phone lines haven't been opened yet, so I didn't think it was too unusual. After calling for a bit, I started to think something was wrong. So, I did some online searching and found the REAL number! I was SO annoyed! :headache:

Fortunately, we'll be there Monday, so I've got one more shot :genie:

There are also some good threads on the DL forum here if you have any Fantasmic questions.

More Utah food:
Rolls, esp. from Hotel Utah or Lion House....
Funeral potatoes---DOUBLE yum.
Drive through scone places- I've never seen those anywhere but Utah. (I don't really like these, but they are specific to Utah)
Spaghetti Factory.
Sunday Brunch at Grand or Little America
Breakfast at Ruth's Diner- overlooking the mountains....That makes me want to come home- and the Utah college of massage therapy.
May I ask what funeral potatoes are? Sounds scary to me! :earseek:

Anyone who live in Florida-
Have you seen Diet Pepsi with Lime?

I found it today in WI- haven't seen it in IL yet. OH MY GOSH! It is so good- I would like to pick some up for the cruise.
:goodvibes

I picked up the pepsi with lime at our grocery store (in FL) just the other day, don't drink diet, but, it was probably there.

I did the premium Fantasmic viewing last year when I was in DL for some TA training. The desserts aren't boxed, they're out on tables and you serve yourself but they were coming to the seats and offering us drinks. It was very nice. But I did score the balcony for the 3 of us for the second Fantasmic on the 28th. :cool1:

Ranae: Was going to stop by and see you today at Port Orleans. Are you going to be at work tomorrow???? I might stop by before we go to Epcot and Coronado Springs - are you at front desk at PORT orleans Riverside or Port Orleans?? I get those 2 mixed up sometimes - know they are beside each other.

For all of us who haven't gotten that darned brown package yet, repeat after me....THEY'RE SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST, THEY'RE SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST, THEY'RE ....who am I kidding, I want my man in brown to show up. Darned UPS and their no Saturday deliveries.

There is diet lime pepsi, diet orange slice, and diet vanilla cherry dr pepper here in Florida...

Just got back from the opera, feeling so cultured :earsboy:

Jeff has a shift at the mouse house tomorrow so he'll do another batch of updates on Sunday most likely since he's off...

Welcome Dopeylover54! Glad you found us. Check out the link on Peter's daily update to our master list. You will see that there are several teens in our DIS group alone. My DD is 18, and this will be her 6th cruise on Disney. If you have any questions, everyone here would be glad to help.

See you soon!
