Alot of the sail away party gifts were one per family. In fact, alot of people brought way too much stuff, so I would probably limit what you bring (especially since you have to bring along all your pirate stuff!)

Bubbles were popular, but alot of people didn't take them, so the person had tons leftover! I'm going to plan on bring 50 or so of whatever great idea I come up with. I am going to check out the local party store or my new Oriental Trading magazine!

Welcome Kevin and Randall! Glad you found the boards and our cruise meet thread!

Linda, in a way I hope you are right about NASA never being on time, but more so, I would really like to see this happen when I am there! This particular launch has been delayed twice already, once in September 2004, and again in March 2005, so we might really get to see it! Here is a quote from the NASA site:

"For the record, and assuming NASA can complete post-Columbia safety upgrades in time, the target launch time for the next shuttle mission, STS-114, is approximately 4:11 p.m. EDT (2011 GMT) on May 14, based on the projected orbit of the international space station. The actual launch period opens May 12, but post-Columbia lighting constraints for photo documentation are not met until two days later."

Peter, sorry to hear that Ron Jon's was all booked, boy am I glad my reservation was booked and paid for back last May. Looking at Dave's webpage, you are closer to the Port at the Raddisson, you will be 2.6, and I will be 3.2 miles. Jindy was staying at the Raddisson, maybe we could all meet for dinner at Grills? Just a thought.....

Linda, thanks for the tips on the quantity of the Sailaway gifts. I think I will order today one of the things I saw online.

I have some questions about the wine party & the sail away party.

About the wine party. I understand that Dreams Unlimited has sponsored this event so I was wondering if you didn't book your cruise through Dreams Unlimited if you can still attend? Also, we will be travelling fom Canada via an unknown airline (I won't find out from Disney until 30 days prior what airline we will be on) and don't think I will be able to bring a bottle (or two) of wine with us as we will have to deal with customs at the airports (this will be our first flight post 9-11 and I understand that they are very strict about what can be in your carry on luggage). I also found out that you can't lock your suitcase now so the chances of the wine actually making it to the cruise I think would be slim to none. So now my other question, can you attend if you can't bring a bottle of wine or is it possible to purchase one from room service?

About the sail away party, has a time and place been determined? I've been trying to catch up on all the posts but I can't seem to find the time.

Elaine

Dreams Unlimited wine Party .. Not limited like some others..

All may attend No Matter How You booked Your Cruise...
As Far as I know...

I Know that some other travel companies have sent Invites to there customers inviting them to private events onboard, Just hope that someone
who did book with them takes Jenn and I along So We can See the Suite..
We used Dreams....

Welcome aboard Kevin and Randall!

We had hoped to leave WDW area early enough on 5/14 to avoid a lot of traffic... say 7-8ish but are still trying to figure out how we are getting to the port. Anyone else looking to share some transportation?

Linda... do you know if you show up early at dropoff... are the luggage porters there and do they come out there for your luggage?? We've never done anything but park at the port for our cruises...

Just for the heck of it I went and did the Pirate Name Generator thingy. You won't believe this one....

Can't-Remember-Where-the-Damn-Treasure's-Buried Jen

That is SO me!!! LOL :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Does anyone know how I can smallen my pirate picture???

Ok, just want to make sure I understand the drop off area... :bitelip:

We are going to drive over from WDW that morning with a car from Budget. If we arrive prior to 10 am, cam I drop off Mom and Dad and the luggage, they wait for the port to actually open, while I drop off the car at Budget. Then take the shuttle back from Budget.

Is that right???

Just trying to get it all straight in my brain.

I got a real shot in the arm today to get back on my workout schedule... I could not fit into my Formal Night dress!!! :guilty: :rolleyes1
So back to Curves for me and adjustign my way of eating. And I know to wear that dress on the first formal night :rotfl:

Thanks for the idea of one per family for the Sailaway gift. I would hate to buy too many.

Debbie

Now you guys have me all worried about traffic :scared1:

So, I now have a Hyatt MCO room booked, and a Radisson room booked. Couldn't get Rad lower than 149... did anyone else? How tricky is their shuttle over to port? And how are food options there?

I'd love to see the launch as it may save my dd from her second grade teacher, who I have yet to inform of this trip. :confused3 Just found out they're having their CORE testing the first week we're gone :earseek: Not my fault they changed the school schedule :rolleyes1

Also, if anyone was interested in Randi's horseback riding .... then think again. It's all booked  If anyone booked it and ends up having an extra 3 or 4 spots, would you let me know?

All I could find was $149. I researched all the expedia, travelocity, etc. and they didn't show any availablity!

Randi's is all booked? WOW, who would have thought so soon? Darn, now I have to go to plan B or whatever! You can bet I am on the phone with DCL right at 90 days!

Last May I got a studio at Ron Jon's for $120......

Wow, where did the weekend go! I'm definitely not ready to start another week tomorrow!

Our closet dried out from our roof leak, so I can put things away now! :Pinkbounc

I ordered a dress for one of the formal nights, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it fits. There've been just too many calories lurking around this winter.

I've probably already posted this, but count us in for the sail-away. We're already on the list for the wine party. Georgie (bonzie1) + Joe (DH)

Thought: Would it be a good thing to keep the ever-growing lists on the wonderful web-site that's been put together? Maybe as the time gets closer, to avoid multiple updating. If the lists are there, we could keep a more accurate count, and it some of us are planning on bringing personalized items, the names for the event would be in one place. Just a thought.

Have a good week everyone!!! One more day of work means we're one more day closer to our BIG CRUISE! :jumping1:

I'll be working hard on my pc! I just love the "bad pc" smiley face! Sometimes I find myself laughing when I think about it... sometimes, my user fits the profile much too well (smile) :badpc:

Forgot a coupla things...

Anyone that is familiar with Flat Stanley willing to do a link for my dd? I don't have anyone on the East Coast :worship: It's on it's way to Chicago and will be ready to go in a few days...

Also, please count us in for the sailaway party. And for the C.Cay snorkelling.

Muchas gracias and Adios!

Thanks to everyone for lending your ears when I shared about our ice thawing roof leak fiasco!!! :listen: Hygiene 99 (Peter), I'm glad you haven't had any probmens! :goodvibes

Someone actually came out and literally took a hammer/axe combo "tool" and chopped the ice away. The gutters and downspouts were frozen solid and not draining properly.

I didn't have to drill a hole in the ceiling to release the water (as I've done in previous years). I stayed home Friday to shampoo the mildewey (is that even a word...) closet. Things have dried out, and now I'm putting shoes and other things back in!!!

Come on SPRING!!! I am READY!!! Bring on that SUNSHINE! :cool1:

Cotomom - added you to the CC snorkle list, party of 2?

Bonze glad to hear teh closet is drying out, what a pain.

"Where did the weekend go?" - What weekend did we have a weekend?

Week closer to the trip adn a week closer to retirement. :cool1:

Beautiful weekend. "1 inch" snowfall that was more like 4 yesterday. Sunny melt today. :sunny:

Retirement? You'll just find another job. :teeth:

As far as putting who is doing what on the website. Jeff and I would love to, but it's already all we can do what we already put up there. If someone wants to do the list we can link it to our website.

As for the button design. This cold has kicked my hiney. If someone else wants to do the button design, please feel free. If not I'll see what I can do next week since I work Mon-Fri 12 hours this week.

Jen

Bob, you are probably right...

Jen, hang in there, and I will hang in there also, my week is looking about he same. so sleep when ya can and all ya can, don't forget the vitimines, I know ya know, all this stuff... concerned and understand.

Hey Bob, did ya decide on the Tux yet??????

Hi everyone

Just got back from a great day at Disneyland. Met up with Kara (karaeric) and Sheila (AZ Pirates) and her DH Kerry. Had a great lunch. I will post a picture at some point if I can figure out how to do it.

As far as sailaway gifts. I just wanted to let everyone know that Kara, Sheila and I are working on name badges and lanyards for everyone. I plan to use the list of names on Jeff's webpage for the name badges. So, if you are not on that list, please send the updates to Jeff.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Leslie-that is so funny. Only someone who has actually met you would appreciate your name! You and Joe are just great!

I make my pictures smaller on Photobucket before I paste them over. Don't know who your using, but I bet Mark over on the other thread could tell you.

For Christmas, we arrived right at 10 a.m. DH dropped us off and we proceeded to have porter take luggage and proceeded to the security area. Told the guy that DH had taken van to National over in Cocoa. He said great, just as long as he had ID. Called DH on his cell phone, he was putting gas in car one block away from National. Turned in car, called taxi and shuttled with a couple of other people back over (they don't offer free shuttle service). However, had gotten a steal of a deal on the van, so went with them. Anyway, I got through check-in at the terminal before he came. All he had to do was go to the gal at the counter to get his KTTW card. She had it all ready, he just had to show his driver's license (even though I had already showed his passport). It was pretty simple.

So, your plan will work just great. It worked very well for us.
