Not a problem. Actually it's a fairly rare breed....flat coat retrievers.

Here's the link to the AKC info on them. Be sure to click on "video." The first part is a hoot and, apparently is very classic for a flat coat.

Thanks Virgil! I don't get much for it but I get to display the award on my desk for a month (we call it the crystal shaft) and I get a really nice parking spot for a month!

Ohiominnie, those dogs are gorgeous!! What color do you want? I think the liver is pretty, especially for a female.
I got a chuckle last night. We were at Dairy Queen, and an older couple and their Golden were eating at a table outdoors.
A group of bikers pulled up, they had a small dog, looked like a mix between a cocker spaniel and dacshund. The little dog went over to make "friends" with the Golden, and the Golden hid between its' owners legs!

Well, I went to the ball practice anyway. Coach is nervous about tomorrow. Kinda cute. They handed out the official Little League "patch" that goes on their uniforms....exactly 1" below the seam, on the left shoulder. So, at 10 pm, I was putting a patch on a uniform. I'm surprised DS & DH trusted me...I have a problem with right and left. DH will say "Turn left up here at the corner"...and I move to the right hand lane. He yells "Your OTHER left!" LOL. Honest, I don't do it on purpose just to annoy him!

Anyway....we're in for a long one tomorrow, so I guess I'll hit the showers.

We want black. Turns out all of the puppies are black, so shouldn't be a problem. Liver is recessive, so it doesn't happen as often.

I think part of our attraction to black is that my parents had a WONDERFUL dog that was all black. She died of cancer (after a long battle) in May of '03--while we were on our first Disney cruise.

My other reason for wanting black is I don't want a liver dog. How come brown colored labradors are called "chocolate" while a brown flat coat is called "liver?" If a brown flat coat was referred to as "chocolate" then I'd consider it. But I do not want a liver dog. Blech!

Congrats on becoming a great-aunt!! My oldest neices and nephews are growing up--21 and almost 24....so it probably won't be too much longer until someone calls me "great."

Ohiominnie...you're right, I hadn't thought of it that way..I hate liver!! Chocolate is MUCH more appealing!!
And it's so much fun to say that I always knew I was a good Aunt.....but now I am a GREAT Aunt!!! LOL

Someone better go down to the World and find jilljill and bring her home!

Guess I'll head out into the heat. Last night, at 8:00, it cooled down to a nice 85 degrees.

Sorry, GaRy, we are at BCV. Gotta love SAB. Not sure where Jilljill will be. And Cindy lives not too far away.

My DIL's have always owned Labs. More specifically, really big, really black Labs. Monster dogs, more dearly beloved than grandkids. I clearly remember when DD and her cousin were starting to walk, the DIL had a "puppy". It was a hazard area for little kids over there. Nice dogs, but you don't wear nice clothes when you go to visit. The slobber and shed factor is very high.

So we have a cat now, we're a one Tonkinese cat family (Elvis wouldn't have it any other way). Even DH, who grew up with the Monster dogs, prefers it this way. Nothing against dogs, really! Dogs are great. Now that we don't have any though, it's nice to have a back yard. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to leave the house for any length of time, since the King requires a lap at all times.

Diana - Thanks for the Pleasure Island ticket info - never heard of ticketmania - I'll check it out.
I've become addicted to Texas Hold'em Poker. Learned how to play last weekend and now I play online as often as I can. My DH is getting kinda worried about when we get to Vegas! I'm glad there's no gambling on the Disney ships. It would be too tempting. If it's not there, I don't miss it.

Cindy....is Texas Hold 'Em the one they play on World Poler Tour on TV? We love that show...even DS is into it. But he likes all games, he's a killer at chess.
If that's the same game, they don't have very many table in Vegas with it. Most casinos don't have it at all. I've looked...because I'd like to try it! So your DH is safe!!!

Things are turning around here, and looking better for this week. It was looking like it was going to be a long tough one...but more & more things are falling into place nicely. Was stressed about needing to be in 5 places at the same time!

Diana.....I love The King! Looks like he has that same attitude that my beloved baby had. She was so cool. I can't get another cat....there will never be another one like her....Spice was her name, and it fit.

Thanks, Stacey. He's one of a kind for us, anyway. But I do think that most Tonks have "Mr. Outgoing, the World is my oyster" type personality. He's the most people oriented cat I've ever met.
