Diana - Where is the Ticketmania outlet in O - Town? We have FL Seasonal Passes for the parks, prob why I never heard of this before.
Not sure if Texas Hold'em is what they play on TV. Every player is dealt 2 cards down and the other 5 are in the middle of the table and everyone plays off them. Lots of fun - especially online with fake chips!

Well, I'm not sure where it is, but according to their website, they're in a strip mall next to Sleuth's Mystery Dinner Theater.

Even DH, who grew up with the Monster dogs, prefers it this way. Nothing against dogs, really! Dogs are great. Now that we don't have any though, it's nice to have a back yard.

I hear ya. We've had several ppl tell us that. Including my parents who had a dog or dogs NON-STOP for at least 40 years. Their last dog died in May of '03 and my dad is now saying maybe he doesn't want another dog.

But, if we EVER get a dog...NOW is the time to do it. Kids are 9 and 7. I don't work outside of the house. A dog's lifespan is going to be about the amount of time our kids are still in the house....so when the kids are older and the dog has died, then we will re-evaluate.

I know there will be hassles....poopy yards, chewed up possessions, having to leave someplace early b/c the dog needs to go out. We surely aren't going into this with rose-colored glasses. In fact I'm sure there will be times when I seriously wonder "what in the world have I done??"

Right now, in this season, a dog seems like a good addition to the family. :)

Yep, that's what they play on TV. I think it looks like it would be fun, and you don't have to worry as much about messing everyone up if you draw when you should hold & all that.
But, no, the casinos don't have. At least not very many. Maybe now, with the TV show getting so popular, they might start.

Ohiominnie, at least you have the puppy thing well planned-out.
Every dog we've ever gotten was one of those "I'm just going to look at them" deals. Then I fall in love......
Now that we're down to just Molly, I know that I'm done. (Sure, wait till I find a batch of Yorkie puppies!) No, really.....I don't want to go through all the training, and having to leave them when we travel, etc.
By the time Molly is getting old, the kids will be nearly gone...so, nope, I want a truly empty nest!

The best place to play Poker on the Strip is at the Mirage..... They have a few games of Texas Hold Em.....

The Freemont Street Casinos like Binions - have more poker tables than are on the strip......

Hmmmm - I wonder how I know that???

Ohiominnie, surely didn't mean to imply that having a dog was a bad thing. Sounds perfect for your family. In my family, however, we only have one kid. Her idea of pet interaction is to sit at her computer with her legs up on the desk, and the cat in her lap. Of course, the cat thinks this is fine, but he does like to play once in a while. Although she is the cat's favorite playtoy, sometimes he must resort to us.

Finally home. Hottest day of the year so far, and I'm sitting at the ball field!
Well, they played a great game....but they lost. (Moment of Silence, please)

I am so glad!!!!! Yippeee!!! We're done!!!!! (Where's jilljill to hand out my rotten mother of the year award??)

DS was asked to play in an All-Star tournament. Practice would start tomorrow, and continue (just like these last two weeks) every night for the next two weeks. I told the coach that I didn't think I could take any more (thank you very much), but that we would ask DS what he wanted to do.
I knew there was a reason why I love this precious child so much...he said he was ready for a break!

So now we just have dance two nights a week, which is great, it's close to home, right above our favorite pizza place....
Two and a half weeks, and summer school will be over......and then I'll be in Las Vegas finally meeting "the gals"!!

Yes, Virgil, HOW do you know about the best poker places??? I thought you were in Vegas for a convention???

It was still 95 outside when we were driving home at 9:30. Someone tell me why I live in the desert? Aahhh, SNOW....or lack of....that's why. Okay...I'll deal with the heat.

Off to bed. Hope you all had a great evening, and have a wonderful day tomorrow!!!

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE HOLIDAY CRUISERS!!!

Stacey

jilljill......come back..........:sad1:

Question for Mary......when exactly do we hit the half-way mark???

Never mind that last question....my brain isn't functioning. It would be at the 180 day mark...or the 179th, depending on how you look at it.....right??
I don't know.....I'm going away now.....

Well by half-way you would have to start with the day you booked vs. the day we sail.

The first date on this thread is 6/23/03 so I think that is when those of us who booked the first day booked.

Using 6/23/03 vs. 12/18/04 - that is 544 days out. 1/2 way would be 272 days out. 272 days out from 12/18/04 would be 3/21/04 so we are well past the 1/2 way mark.

Using the 6/23/03 date we are 65.99% on our way to 12/18/04.

Aren't you sorry you asked.:D

BTW - Good morning everyone!

Wow Mary! My brain is about to explode! Way too much math this early in the day for me!

Paul

All I know is we are about down to the six month mark!!!

Yeah! Start shopping and packing

Linda

:teeth: I just knew Mary would have an answer like that!
Don't ya just love her?

I have trouble finding my glasses in the morning, and she can think like that. Wow.

It was already 82 degrees outside when I got up at 7 am. We're into it full-force now!
Diana, I know you're used to the heat (Las Vegas is almost the same as we are, a little cooler in the evenings) but LeiLani, are you prepared for this??

Paul, it's not too late to join us....you could wear that cute little Minnie sundress you got!

We have a pool, but I haven't been in it yet. Maybe now we'll have a chance...

Have a great day!!!

Stacey

Virgil - Thanks for the Vegas poker info. I was planning on hitting the Fremont St. casinos and now I know. Still planning on going to the new Seminole Hard Rock that just opened near Ft. Lauderdale. (Practice for Vegas!)
Now for a little venting - took DS (15) laptop in to Circuit City because it wouldn't charge. Manager told me the power pin broke off, but was covered by warranty and was a defect. Tech just called to say it was my fault and would be $695. I told him he was out of his mind. Waiting for call back from supervisor. My son is extremely careful about things like that. No way did he do it. The tech told me I shouldn 't have "jammed" the power cord in. Arghh!!!!!!!! I'll buy a new laptop, before I'll spend $700 to repair an old one. Thanks for letting me vent.

Seems like they always come up with a way to get around their warranty work......don't you just hate that?
I'm with you, I'd buy a new one....somewhere else...before I'd pay them for that. Even if you did jam the cord in, if it's a covered item under the warranty, it shouldn't matter. Bummer.
Vent away!!

I'm starting to feel a little better. I called our local store, spoke with the manager and he was also furious that they told me that. (Prob looked up my sales record and didn't want to lose me as a customer!) He was going to sort it out and he's giving me a call back.
