Anyone taken a 2 year old on Goofy's Barnstormer? He meets the height requirement, by 3 inches, but I have never been on it (or seen it) to know how fast it goes, how "whipped" around someone little would get on there. Would the safety bar go down far enough to keep him secure?

I took my 2 year old on it before and she did just fine. It's not really fast and it's very short. I just out my arm around her for my sanity and she did great. It's very cute.

The safety bar is going to stop at your lap. You can review the ride on Youtube and see if you think it is appropriate for you and your child. Personally, I took my 2 year old on Barnstormer. The ride is quick and tame, and I was fine with my arm around my daughter. We both had great fun, and many rides on barnstormer that trip. :)

My DD (2 1/2) rode this for the very first time on Saturday and loved it. She kept calling it choo-choo. (And FWIW she made the 35 inch height requirement by the skin of her teeth. It took them a good few minutes of measuring her and making her stand up straight and all to pass her. And then before we got seated they had to measure her again. So she's little and had no issues at all.) :)

I had the opposite experience. I took my nephew when he was 2 1/2 (this was 8 years ago now) and he was terrified. He still talks about what a horrible experience it was (and this kid goes on everything now). So my advice is, it doesn't matter if other 2 year olds are going on, you know your child best, if you think they will like it, bring them on.

My oldest loved it at 21 months (he is very tall). My youngest will be 23 months on our June trip and is well over the height limit so I am sure we will get plenty of rides on this with him as well. Its a very uncomfortable ride for the adults, but it is super quick and over in a bling of an eye.

It's fast, fun and over quick! My 2 1/2 yr. old loved it!

I was wondering the same thing for my 2.5 dd. We have never done speed rides and I did not want to terrify her. Thanks for the post!

DD rode it on her 1st trip when she was 2...14 times. I gave up after 11 and DH couldn't take it anymore after 14. (It was at night and there was no line, so they were just letting us stay on it) She threw a fit when we made her quit to go back to the resort and go to bed too. Funny thing is it turns out she is not big on roller coasters. She is 8 now and hates BMTR, EE and won't set foot on RNRC. She doesn't care for splash either. She does like Space Mountain though. Still loves Barnstormer. I'd say let him watch it and if he wants to try it, let him try.

This was my 2 year old DD's favorite ride. She is a thrill seeker. We took my nephew on it when he was 3 and he hated it. He is not a thrill seeker. It really depends on the kid. I would show it to him and see what he thinks.

If your child is a thrill seeker they will love it, if not it will really scare them. For those who say it isn't fast, I really want to see what you think fast is? I found it extremely fast when we went on it. It is no way a slow moving roller coaster.

I am not worried about taking my 2 year old on it here in a few weeks. I have taken him on a little roller coaster at a local park and he loved it (I think he was 20 months or so at the time too!) plus he will see our almost 5 year old do it and demand to have a chance!

My 3 year old found it to be very scary. It was the first fast ride he'd ever been on and he shrieked like I've never heard before and kept saying NOT COOL NOT COOL. I found the G force to be pretty strong. Although it is a short ride.

My kid would have loved it at two, but he LOVES coasters. When he was barely four, I held my arm around him for stability, but was not worried about him coming out. It is somewhat jerky.

It has a top speed of 25mph. That's really not remotely fast for a roller coaster. Even space goes up to 30.

Just took my 4 year old DS on it and he loved it! Top height is similar to the dumbo ride when you are up high; the roller coaster car actually feels like it is braking going down the "hill" so it's not fast at all. There is some thrill in the twists after the big hill, more like a very tame BTMRR. It is a very short ride. I think you should let your 2 yr old take a look and decide. Have fun!

My DD went on it the day she turned 2. :) They were mashing her hair down to make sure she was tall enough. She was definitely one of the smallest kids there. She looked kind of freaked out throughout the ride and I kept thinking she would say she was scared, but when it stopped she wanted to do it again! We had to ride it 3 times in a row before I finally said enough. :faint:

We took DS on it about two months after he turned two and he did fine. Even if they get on and hate it, like others said, it is over quick.

Thanks everyone!! I appreciate all the input! I will certainly watch it on youtube and when we get them watch it with him before I would put him on it...certainly wouldn't force him...but with all that said...I appreciate hearing your thoughts and experiences! We will at least make a point to check it out!
