We are doing our first cruise in July and thought about getting 2 way radios for our sons to keep in touch while they do their kids clubs and whatever has anybody had really good luck with a particular brand or radio?
Thanks!princess:

We took them on one cruise and experienced pretty spotty coverage. There is so much steel in the ship's construction, that a lot of the signal gets blocked. Ours are the Motorola TalkAbout model and work great without all that steel in the way. They did come in handy at CC when we were trying to meet up with another family.

I thought if I bought a "really good" (ie: expensive) set they'd work. Not for us. Motorola fr50 - the set was $50 or $75 in '05. I'd love to find a set that worked....

Midland, go to Walmart $25-$30 to include charger and headset. They have an approximate 10 mile range. I read on passporter.com that many agree.
