I totally agree with you on Kindergarten being way too long. It should be half day. When Kaylee started she was so exhausted after school too. Way too much for a 5 year old. The work was super easy for her though. Even though they start reading in Kindergarten it still doesn't need to be all day

. Well you all know Thomas will be turning 5 on our trip. So I had to make a decision last week if he would be starting Kindergarten this fall. The preschool thinks academically he is fine but socially and maturity wise he is not ready

for full day Kindergarten. The teachers think another year would just give him a chance to grow more in these areas. I''m worried he will be bored though because he knows all his numbers, letters, colors since he was 2 and writes pretty good. Then they forgot to give him his lunch one day at preschool (duhh) and he sat there rubbing his eyes (upset) and would not even raise his hand to ask the teacher for help. Also he cried the first 6 months of preschool when we would bring him. So based on that I decided to just enroll him for preschool another year 3 days a week from 8-12:30. It was so hard to make this decision as I assumed he would be starting Kinder when Kaylee starts 4th grade. A couple of his friends that are academically and maturity way behind him (according to the school) are going to start Kinder anyway. The moms said they don't mind if their child get leftback in Kinder or first. Sorry to vent on your TR Mary but so glad to be able to share that with you moms.
