2/01/03 Western

We'll be on this cruise! Myself, DH, DD11, DS10, and DS8. We're staying in room 8062, Cat 4. We are SO looking forward to this cruise. We're flying in the night before and staying at the Hyatt. I've just started to pack and purchase new clothing for the cruise - swimsuits and shorts are hard to find this early in the year!! We've done the 4day Magic to the Bahamas, and it was the best vacation we've ever taken.

We booked thru DU and are still awaiting our docs.

Hey count us, family of five in. We booked like last March and can't believe it is only four weeks away!

Gina,

I'm feeling kind of left out because your posse will meet at the Radisson the night 'fore. I guess we'll just find each other when we sail. I'll have my mini-bubbles with me.

Awwww!! :( Let me do this, then --
This is a picture of me and DS and assorted others:

goofy1.jpg

You can't tell in the picture, but my hair is pretty long. Now you know what DS and I look like. Oh, and I'm only 5' tall, so look down. ;) We celebrate Sail-Away up on deck 10, overlooking the chaos below :p on whichever side is facing the terminal, which I totally cannot seem to remember now. Anyone is more than welcome to join us then!!

And if enough people are still interested in doing an onboard meet of some sort, we still have time to put that together. I liked someone else's idea on the onboard meet thread about several people ordering the cheese and cracker tray from room service and all meeting at the secret area on deck 7. We could even try for something Sunday mid-morning, since we don't get into Key West until like noon. Would anyone be interested in anything like that?

And if anyone ever needs to find me, I will either be at A.) Bingo, B.) Rockin' Bar D, or C.) Bingo. *grin* Our stateroom number is 5132, deck 5 aft. Jen, I wrote yours down, and welcome to our party!! :) And you too, Allears! I love how many DIS-ers there are going to be!!

Linda ~ the color-coded list is out of my own twisted mind. LOL Actually, it's out of necessity, as I am way too disorganized to remember everything DS and I need without having it all spelled out. I have one list that is coded into things we need, things we have, and things I need to check on. Then I have another list coded into suitcases and carry-ons, which makes it a lot easier for me to pack when the time comes because I don't have to stop and think about each item. I'm so eternally time-crunched, and also not willing to give up EverQuest playing time just because I don't have my packing act together. LOL!!

I finally took my last antibiotic for the throat infection today, and DS started running a fever last night. *sigh* Ended up at his doctor today, he has a sinus infection. His turn for antibiotics now. Hopefully we're getting all this out of the way now, so we'll be nice and healthy in a month. :)

Take care everyone, and hope to meet everyone, one way or another!! :) :)

We won't be at the Radisson the night before either and am very eager to have an onboard meeting, but I don't know where the secret place is on deck 7. If we can join the party, let me know. We're kinda new to the board, but would love to connect with some of the people we've been writing to here. It's so much fun to get excited about a trip with a lot of others who are also going. Fun to meet new friends.

By the way, we have a son 6 and a daughter 9 who will be on the trip. Sounds like lots of others have kids in the same age range. Yippeeee!!!!!

The trip is almost here!

Once again, extreme SE Connecticut gets no snow while the rest of the state gets blanketed. Rain, rain and more rain. A little snow would have been nice so we could get out and go sledding. <sigh> But the warm weather of Feb 1-8 is calling!

We finally told my DD7 about the cruise. She is really excited. Now I get the same question every day "Is it January 31 yet?" (which is why we didn't tell her when we first booked in Feb. 02)The suitcases are down from the attic, the film has been bought, the kennel reservations have been made for the dog, and now I just need to find someone to come over and feed the rabbits and chickens. My documents still are not here yet. The agent said she usually gets them about 2 weeks ahead of departure. Not fair! We decided to stay at MCO the night before since we won't get in till about 8 pm. Got the 3* Holiday Inn Select via Priceline for $45. Probably a little high, but it was my first time on Priceline.

I don't know how I'm going to get through the next 4 weeks of work!

Kris

Zebrastripes - we're about an hour from you. We got about 6 inches of snow last night and it's snowing again now! 27 days, 15 hours and counting! Can't wait to get out of this mess.

Gina - thanks for posting the pic. Cute. I know exactly where that secret place on deck 7 is. I'll take a walk down there. Otherwise, I'll catch up to you. We're in cabin 5020 (secret porthole room!). It's so close to the Oceaneer's Lab.

Here's my family so you can look for us. (Of course we're leaving Tucker and Cocoa at home with pet-sitters.)

Hi Everybody,

Me and DH are watching the Magic pull away on the web cam. 4 weeks from today it will be all of us on the ship!!!!!

We will be in cabin 7030 so we will surely be looking for the secret deck .

Im counting down my work days , they are getting sooo long.
DD who will be 7 next week is getting very chatty about the trip.

Very nice photos posted. I have to remember that lime green ribbon because my scanner is out of comission, I hope I can find some.

Have a quick week everyone!! Felicia

Hi Gina,
If anyone gets a meeting together, keep us posted. We would really like to meet some of the other Disney fans who will be sailing with us. We know where the "secret" deck 7 vereanda is. This will be our third cruise, second aboard the Magic. I've made a point of exploring as much as possible and found the two aft decks on our first trip on the Wonder. Really nice secluded spots.

Four weeks from now (Lord willing) we will be out to sea!!!!!!

Woooohoooo

Sitchu2, where in NJ are you located?

We are in Mount Ephraim, right next to Philadelphia

What kind of animal is your son holding?

I am so excited... we are going to have one huge group of DISers on the Magic!!!

Allears,

We live in Brick right next to point pleasant beach.

(I just booked Tiffany Towncar, I am really getting excited!)

Also, I am totally convinced that the Norwalk was not at all a cruise ship issue. It is circulating my place of employment now, as it has in past years during Nov, Dec. I am posative as can be that there will not be a trace of it on the magic when we sail. (unless of course someone brings it on)

I have been able to avoid it for many years , when my co workers have succommed with good handwashing. I dont mean to drag out a sore subject, I just wanted to share my optimism and confidence that it is over.

26 Days 13 Hrs 18 Mins 46 Secs Felicia

We recieved our documents last weekend, and have all of our excursions reserved. We are all looking forward to a wondeful
experience.

I would like to also thank all of the people who have responded to my questions

Randy

Keep us posted on a meeting place on the ship, too. After a couple of years "talking" to you people, I'd like to connect the posts with a face!! I'll be on board with my DW, DS4 and DD18mo. We haven't gotten our docs yet, but DCL said they were printed yesterday and we should have them by mid-week at the latest!! I've been calling almost on a daily basis for a month or so!! Can't wait!!

Gina -- Were you on the Feb. 2 Magic last year? I think I remember talking about that one a few weeks before we left. If so, that's funny that we'd be on the same cruises 2 years in a row!!

sitchu2,
I remember now, we bounced a couple of messages back and forth about 6 months ago. I can't believe how fast the time has gone and we're only a month away!

See you there!

goin2dzny,

Joshua is holding our rescued Ferret, Cocoa. He is so gentle. We adopted him from a shelter. They are an amazing animal. This one is very good - he plays just like a kitten but sometimes likes to snuggle. You can see his 'baby' picture on our web site. Can't say enough good things about Ferrets.

Gina,

What about if we informally agree to Sunday at 10:00 on secret area, deck 7? We're not doing any excursion in Key West. I want to just get off the ship and explore a little bit. I will have to have time to grab about 10 cheese danish though. I've had a craving for them since I got off the ship a year ago. Norm can't wait to have the chocolate filled danish. Oh Gosh, I don't think I'm gonna make it!

Anyone need a list of Mexican (American, country) songs to get you excited? Refried Dreams(T. McGraw), That's why God made Mexico (T. McGraw) Seniorita Margarita (T. McGraw), Good to go to Mexico (T. Keith). If you haven't heard them yet, they're definately going to have you bouncing out of your skin!

Yes, I was!! Now I remember you!! :) :) Wow, what are the odds??

I think that sounds like a great idea. If several of us order some danishes and whatnot the night before, we can bring them and share them around. I'll be there. :) I'd also like to propose a Plan B, just in case it's way too windy to even be out there comfortably and not have our danishes blow overboard. ;) How about the Promenade Lounge as a backup? That way, if anyone gets there after 10 and we're not there, they'll know where to go. Does that sound okay?

We're not doing any excursions, either. DS wants to make it to Detective School in the Club this time (missed it last time) and that's at 1:30. Then we'll mosey ashore after that and I'm going to rent one of those adorable two-seater golfcart thingys from KeyWest Cruisers and just shlep around for a couple of hours, looking at shops and stuff.

Been cranking up the "Tropical Breezes" digital music channel off of Dish Network a lot lately... really gets us in the mood. I get enough of hearing Mexican music here in SE Texas. LOL I want steel pan music. :)

Well, the laundry's not going to do itself, so I guess I'd better go... talk to you all soon!

So sorry, forgot to answer this!! To get to the secret area, just go all the way aft on deck 7... there is a door that opens up to a "secret" deck with some loungers and usually not a soul there. On the deck plans, it just looks like a blank space. Everyone overlooks it, since if you didn't know about it already, you'd never just come across it. I love it there! So peaceful and quiet. Hope to see you there!

OK you guys......I can't believe it's only 4 Saturday's left and we will be on that beautiful boat!! Sunday's plan sounds good to meet aft deck 7 secret place and promenade for a back up!! great thinking Gina!! :) Looking forward to meeting all of you!! See you soon!
Laurie

PS: we're going the week before staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas...can't wait only 3 weeks!! Anyone else staying at the WLV??
