DCL Day 2...An Evening Aboard the Magic
Once we watched Benjamin Franklin Gates find the treasure hidden underneath Mt. Rushmore, retrieved our sons and freshened up, it was time to head to Lumiere's, the location for our dinner tonight. We would be dining off of the French Dinner Menu tonight. I was really looking forward to it. Being a huge Beauty and the Beast fan, I have a soft spot for Lumiere's.
Before we got to the dining room, we stopped to have a few pictures made. Here are the pictures I bought from this night's photos. Our littlest guy was really taken with Lilo (as he was every other character!).
An up close view of our
LP loving Mickey. I love that coy little grin.
Stitch looks really unhappy in this shot. He was just VERY hungry and more than ready to head for the food!
Look at how happy the menu choices made me.
This night would find me surprised at just how adventurous my little
Goof's taste buds are. To start out his meal he ordered escargot! It was baked in garlic and herb butter and looked fancy...but it was still a plate of snails. AND HE ATE EVERY BITE!

I think the other kids at the table got a stomach ache watching him eat them.
As for me, I didn't go the snail route, I chose the shrimp medley with cocktail sauce. I am a big fan of any and all things shrimp and this dish did not disappoint.
That was followed up with a very tasty tomato basil soup. It was very rich and creamy.
For my main course I chose the dijon mustard roasted beef tenderloin served with potato wedges, mashed peas and sweet baby carrots. This dish was VERY GOOD. Although, I was sort of 'put off' by the puree of peas. They seemed way more like food for our
Little Prince. In fact, I ended up feeding him my entire portion (after I took a small nibble to confirm that it was, in fact, very close to the organic pea puree we buy him at the health food co-op). He was also a big fan of the sautéed sweet baby carrots (which I cut into small mushy pieces for him).
For dessert, I picked the ice cream sundae and enjoyed every single bite of it. It was divine.

The sundae was vanilla ice cream topped with brandied cherries and served with cherry blondie.
Aladdin chose to have spaghetti and meatballs. He gave it a big thumbs up. Here you can see the spaghetti and also the great view we had at our table.
Our
Little Prince enjoying some crusty french bread.
A friendly game of tag team peek-a-boo with the Little Prince (who was sitting on the other side of the table.
Here is our wonderful assistant server, Gavin, setting up a brain teaser for the kids to work on during the course of the meal.
A table with a view!
I don't even remember what sort of mischief was in the works here.
Here's a rare picture of
Aladdin (and
Abu) this cruise.
Aladdin spent so much time at Ocean Quest that I have very few pictures of him.

He would be leaving the table BEFORE dessert in order to get back to Ocean Quest.
After a wonderful meal, we dropped off all of the boys (including our littlest one at Flounder's Nursery) and we headed to the Walt Disney Theatre for another dose of Freddy Fusion and John Charles. Following the show, dh and I did a little bit of shopping, checked on all of the boys (none of who wanted or needed our attention at that point) and then we went to look at the pictures at Shutters. We found this one of
Goofy that was taken while he was in one at the Whale Dig on CC. I like that they had photographers capturing a little of the fun the kids were having while us parents were away.
Here is another picture we got of
Goofy's time at Oceaneer's Lab. While we were watching National Treasure: Book of Secrets, he was taking part in a digital postcard activity. Here is the digital picture that was on the front of his postcard. I also love how they add character appearances to the children's programming. Two thumbs up!
But back to what we did that night. After our short shopping excursion, we headed outside and spent a few minutes soaking in the sea air. Ahhh! I love those moments. All too soon, we headed back in...although our reason for hurrying was a good one. We were going to see Freddy Fusion's adult cabaret show. It was F-U-N-N-Y! I know I have said it before, but he is HILarious! And mind blowing. He started out by giving a woman in the audience a key to a locked chest which sat out in the center of the stage (in full view) for the whole show. During the show, he gathered answers from random people in the audience. The people who answered were 'chosen' by who caught a stuffed whale that we (the audience members) were throwing around. He asked silly questions about 'the worst possible vacation ever'. At the end of the show, he had the woman with the key come up on stage and open the locked box and take out what was in it. Inside she found a sealed envelope which he had her open. She looked at the type written letter and handed it to him. When he read it out loud, it was EVERY single answer that had just been given by the audience (including one given less than a minute before she opened the chest). It was mind boggling to me. And very funny (he infuses everything with his own quirky sense of humor which I am a big fan of). Toward the very end, he brought his duck (he has a live duck as a side kick)back on stage and it looked as if he popped the duck's head off. It looked so real that almost the entire audience gasped at the same time. Don't worry, the duck was unharmed. Hahaha.
When the show wrapped up, dh and I went to walk deck ten and take in a bit more of the night air before we headed off in various directions to pick up all of the kids. When we stopped by Ocean Quest,
Aladdin was not ready to leave (although it was a few minutes before midnight when we went to pick him up). We told him it was a trial basis freedom and instructed him to return by 1:01 AM to our stateroom (the club closed at 1:00 AM and was only a short hall from our room) OR he would be coming back to the room a whole lot earlier on the nights that were to follow. Lucky for him (and us, I was a mess with my 'baby' out until 1:00 AM) he showed up with thirty seconds to spare.

My first baby is certainly growing up fast!
With dreams of what was to come mixed with surprise over just how fast our boys are truly growing up, I drifted off to sleep.
Tomorrow would be our first day at sea.
