Morning All!! :sunny:

Still trying to get DD20 ATM card to work in Spain. Now they tell me it has to have a Mastercard or Visa logo on it. Well to me that now becomes a debit card and not an ATM card. Ordered her a debit card but it won't come to me for a week and then I have to get it to her

At least she finally got the money I wired her so she is feeling alittle better.

The bruise on the leg is getting more and more purple:):) But not feeling as stiff so hoping to get a walk in today

Ok going to try something new today - I am going to stay away from all processed sugar. So fruits are ok because the sugar is natural.....but not let's say ice cream (darn my favorite :rotfl: ) don't have any sugar free at home. I find myself reaching for sugar items - gee like the left over brownies from the 4th

So the lesson for today is :teacher: no sugar added!!!! Let's see how I do.

Patsfan - Way to go on day 1!!! Just try not to go so long in between meals - I find that I binge if I wait too long in between meals. Keep going - have a GREAT 2nd day. :cheer2:

Tigercheer - you have always been one of our main cheerleaders :cheer2: Well now it is our turn to cheer you on!!! You are an AMAZING person and don't let the stress get to you. Grandpa is in the right place whether he realizes it or not. You always take stress out on the one you love...... :grouphug: Vent at us anytime - we are here for you 24/7. :grouphug:

Cross stitchers - UNITE!!! Woo Hoo - love to cross stitch or knit to keep the hands busy :bounce: The bad part is when I don't keep my hands busy they keep me busy by eating. Right now I am working on a cross stitch of Tinker Bell flying over the castle. What are you working on?

schatz - Mowing the lawn is an awesome workout!! Keep Moving and Losing!! :cheer2:

Regina - Hope everyone is feeling better!!

Puppy went down for a quick nap so I am going to hop in the shower.

Everyone have a good Wednesday!! OOPS - the cat just walked by puppy and nap time is over sigh :rotfl2:

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Hey all!!! WOW LOOK at the losers around here.... I am just soo impressed by the atmosphere around here this week!!! We're thinking straight, putting ourselves and our health in first position (well, most the time!)....and we're feeding off of each other's energy!!!! YAHOO!!!

Sthronds...next 4th..can I come and sit on your family's lawn??? Scones are my downfall!!! I haven't had a decent one since I left the Seattle area...but if there are good ones around I can't pass on them! Way to get back on track with a measured bowl of cereal....I still cringe when I see my husband pour his cereal...measured out I'm sure it's 3 servings! :)

TC2009....so glad you got to buddy up with your buddy!!!! :)

Regina!! ohhhh nooo!!! I hope your boys are doing better.... :grouphug: stay healthy yourself and get some fresh fruit in to keep your energy up taking care of them!!!

Schatz5k " I didn't cave however. " That's it!!! That's it!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc You're doing it!!!

Lacerta...Onederland is right around the corner!!! And that tough work schedule makes it soo hard to get in consistent workouts/eating rituals...hope that employee can take some of the load!!!

Patsfan7....GREAT STARTING low carb...agree...must eat lunch....your body will go into starve mode if you skip esp. on low carb...I find having handy snacks helpful...deviled eggs, chicken salad (thanks to TC2009), tuna salad, cheeses, and always a fresh salad in the spinner. You'll be back in losing form before you know it! :)

Chrismiss!!! Ouch..that Spain trip is looking to be bumpy!!! Poor thing! And poor YOU! trying to track all this stuff down! You're doing great hanging in there...I'm expecting you to see 150's this summer!!! I just know you're going to get there! :)

I've decided to do my 4.3 walk with my neighbor M-F....that means no break on T/H...she does it anyway so I figured for 12 weeks I could walk 21 miles a week and that should surely help me get these last 25 pounds off. It means I MUST get my water in and be in bed by 9:00 each night..but that's probably better for me anyway! I took my measurements yesterday and will measure the 5th of every month to see where I'm losing the most inches...I'm hoping to wear a size 12 dress for the wedding which is really a size 10..those wedding sizes seem cut smaller...I need to have a 30 inch waist for a size 12 and it's 33 right now so I think I can do it!

Onwards & Downwards!!!
Tara

I don't have much time for it anymore, but it is one of my favorite hobbies! I have to count, though. I just don't do well with stamped projects. :flower:

It's hump day, so I'm just going to get over it!

Hi Everyone!

It's my official WW weigh in tonight, so once again I'm hopeful. The scale looked good this morning. I'm going to weigh right before I go, so I can see how much the difference is at WW.

I had a pretty good day yesterday, despite our "surprise" company. DH told me Monday afternoon about 4 his stepbrother and wife were coming to stay last night. Ummmm, o.k. Good thing the house looks pretty good. But, I still had to wash up fresh bedding (wife has a serious cat allergy, and we have 2). Of course, yesterday wasn't one of my "early" days at work, so I just decided I was going to do what I needed to do, and they would have to work around it. They weren't going to arrive until 7 or so, so I had plenty of time after I got home for my workout, if I didn't just decide to straighten instead. It was painful, but I stuck to my guns. I hopped on the treadmill when I got home, got cleaned up, and was ready to greet them when they arrived. I had my usual breakfast and lunch, and barbecued chicken, asparagus and a baked potato for dinner. No snack, just finished up with my Lindt ball. That dessert is really crucial to keeping me on track!

So, TigerCheer -- you have gotten a lot of great advice from other posters. It sounds like you are doing the best you can under difficult circumstances. Hang in there, we are all pulling for you! It's pretty hard to be expected to be a caregiver when you are a teenager. You show a great maturity, but it is o.k. to just enjoy yourself, and treat yourself well. Have a great time with your friends, you will be glad you've made memories to last a lifetime.

Sue -- Your holiday sounds like a blast! You are doing great with your variety of fruit.

Tara -- Sometimes you just need a brownie. It's better to eat one when you have to have it, than eat six things trying to be satisfied. :mickeybar

Regina -- I'm so sorry your little ones were sick. Who can focus on weight loss when their precious angels don't feel well?! It sounds like you're ready to jump back in and get going!

Tracy -- It sounds like you did really well at the ice cream festival! And you're walking again, which is terrific! I bet you are seeing some changes, I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Lacerta -- I would think the bike rides would really help! With all the hours you've been working, it's amazing you have been trying so hard. You're awesome!

PatsFan -- Your body just went through a massive change, and it may take awhile to get yourself on track emotionally, physically, and every other way. Enjoy your new blessing, and do what you can as you are able. We all need to cut ourselves some slack when we give birth! You just produced a miracle, and you should be amazed at what your body can do! :cloud9:

Linda -- Good luck staying away from processed sugar. We should all try to do that!

I'll check in to let everyone know how I do at the weigh-in. Here's to a losing day for us all!

No time to talk today, but I wanted everyone to know that I went back down to 201 (2lbs overnight, now I know that it was the added salt)!

DD7 and I are going to a GS Mom & Me camp for 2 nights, starting this afternoon. This is the last Mom & Me that I will be doing with any of my girls. She will be ready for 1/2 week session on her own next year. We are going to walk and walk and walk and then I am sure they will decide that we need to take a swim, then walk, then I am sure the will decide that we need to take a "hike". :rotfl2: It will be fun and I know that the meals are usually well balanced and at set times, so I should be fine with that. Plus, no extra snacking and plenty of water encouraged. Hopefully, I will come back in ONEDERLAND!

Everyone keep up the good work and I will catch up in a few days! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hi again!!

To make today work I need to pop in here alot and stay accountable.

So please bear with me - I have a black tie optional wedding to go to Labor Day weekend and need to fit into a dress!! I hate getting dressed up!! Keep encouraging my girls when they are old enough to get married on the beach :rotfl:

Anyway I have had 2 - 20 ounces containers of water with a sprinkle of crystal light and couple of cubes of cheese. I also made a 2 egg salad with onion, celery, mustard and fat free mayo. Put that on a WW bagel which did have 2 g of sugar in it.......does that count? Finished with a plum.....yummy....

Ok back to the water....shopping on line for a dress before I get discouraged in the dressing room

Keep having that magical Disney Day!!
Linda

:goodvibes Good morning everyone! :sunny: It's a bright new day today...::yes::!

A little scary bit: Grandpa called last night at 1:00 am Eastern time (adjust to your own time zone time wherever you may reside) and said he needed to get out of there right away. If he's like that there, I don't know what he will be like if he gets home.

Lacerta: I will do that! Good idea. And by all means, we can work on it together this together. I just have to practice saying NO and meaning it if I really don't want in instead of YES and resenting every minute of it. Thank you.

Linda Linda: Thank you. I know he's in the right place, but he thinks he's been condemned to eternity in there. But he has to stay there and get better and work on his therapy, or he never will get out. I appreciate being cheered for :goodvibes .

Tara-It was a lot of fun being with my friends. We went swimming and watched music videos. We're going to hang out after play practice today too. How's the chicken salad? Thanks.

Worfie: I can agree, it is very hard to do. I will. I'm volunteering at the library today, but afterwards, I can foresee a bubble bath! Good luck at WI. I did that before my physical night time slot and that's how I figured out my scale is higher by 3 lbs (182=185 on my scale!) Thank you.

To everyone: You are the reason why I have succeeded, because without you I would have failed (by just stopping and going on an eating spree) long ago. Thank you.

pirate: Wanted: Dead or Alive! The Processed Sugar Fairy, the Asinine ATM and Temptation Treats. Reward: $1 billion in large bills (monopoly money, but still...) pirate:

Have a wonderful day...and thank you for brightening mine up times a million!

Morning All!! :sunny:

I have some good news and some bad news!!! The good news is that I pretty much stayed on plan with eating yesterday. The bad news is that I blewed it at dinner - I made spaghetti with ground turkey and it was sooooooo gooooooood that I had 2 helpings!!!! Bad Linda Bad Linda!!!!! I couldn't control myself. :sad2:

The good news is that I walked over 11,000 steps yesterday. Took DD17 shopping for an outfit for senior grad pictures - we went to an outdoor mall and walked from one end to the other. Then I walked Cody twice yesterday. The first time I was out with him for over an hour!!!!

The bad news is that the scale went all the way back up to 170lbs. Why do I do that? That is a 4lb gain in less than 10 days.......I could beat myself up for that.

So shaking that off - I am back to square one today.........I believe I will be the last person to make it to 150s...... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Need to get out of this mind set and I don't know how to do it........... With the puppy in my life and having early morning duty it is so hard to get to the gym so I think I have to work on just walking.

Goals for today

Walking at least 10,000 steps
Drinking all my water
No second helpings!!!!!!! Even if it taste yummy!!
No eating after 8pm

This shouldn't be that hard - ok here I goooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Off to eat breakfast!! protein protein protein......

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Linda...you are just tooo sweet!! You are really trying your best to hang on until we catch up to you....nuff of that sweetness!! YOU GET LOSING!!! I do better chasing than I do catching up! :) Great job on the steps yesterday and you know that 4 pounds in 10 days is not really poundage...lots of water from high sodium foods...so don't fret.

I weighed 179.2 today...I had to weigh after my walk and my water so I know I'm probably actually less than that....and my chest is still a load of bricks...but no TOM yet. So today starts my official 12 weeks until wedding day for my friend....If I can lose 24 pounds by then I'll be at 155!!! :) I really think it's possible if I keep to my walking...I woke up 10 minutes late today and had to catch up to my walking partners....but I made it and finished out the miles. My legs are sooo sore from all the mulch I laid out on Monday...guess bending and leaning really tightened my hamstrings...they're soo sore so hopefully next week's weigh in will be good...and no swelling left over. I'm weighing weekly now as long as I show a loss..if I don't show a loss it's back to daily weighing.

I'm keeping an ear on the London news and feeling sick for all those folks over there...let's all say a prayer for those yet to be rescued.

Tara

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick note this morning, as I have to get to a meeting. I am happy to report that I had lost 2.2 lbs at the official WW weigh-in last night! This brings me down to 175.6. :cool1:

I'll be picking out my new cd tomorrow afternoon! I'm going to need a new treat for next week -- but I doubt I'll have a loss. I have to go to DC for 3 days for a conference, and the food that will be available will not help. On the bright side, I do plan to hit a few Smithsonian museums, so hopefully all that walking will help. I am going to have a plan. I'm only eating one lunch meal they are providing. I'm skipping the free Continental breakfast and substituting fruit and yogurt. Plus, I'm bringing Kashi TLC crackers and fig newtons (filling in small portions) for snacks. I will have to get room service one night, so that will be my challenge. But, I'll have to weigh in the next evening, so hopefully that thought will keep me in check.

Does anyone know how flying affects retaining water? I'm just curious. I will have two 1 hr. flights over three days, and then weigh in the evening I get home, so I'm wondering if I should expect more of a loss or gain.

Anyway, gotta eat something before this meeting I just found out I have to run. Yikes!

Oh! I got to change my clippie! I've lost 6.6 lbs. since joining this thread! Thanks to everyone for all the awesome support!!! :cloud9:

Maria - YEA for YOU!! Enjoy your time in DC......I usually bloat when I am on a plane ride. Just keep drinking your water.

Have a magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Good Morning Losers! :cool1:

This weekend wasn't very good. But I guess it wasn't bad either. No weight gain or loss ( I don't count the 167.5 on the scale this morning since I had just wolfed down a ton of water and breakfast :goodvibes )

Last night I took DH out to dinner to celebrate his raise and we had fajitas at Don Pablos. We also had queso and split a dessert (actually DH had more...for once). So I walked a mile today, I really have to start walking more but that would require waking up before 6 am!!! You are all doing fantastic. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

Oh, and Worfiedoodles, I live right outside of D.C. When will you be here? If you need a walking buddy, maybe I can take the metro in and we can walk the mall or something. Let me know!

Hello everybody!!!!!!!!!!! Good morning all! How's life treating you today?

maria: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thewave:

Tara: Good job and good luck! Prayer has been said.

Linda: We all have days like that. All that matters is getting back on the wagon again. Success is determined by seeing how far you bounce back from the bottom or something like that. My brain is frazzled as I just volunteered for an 1/2hr with the littlies and played parachute, horsey, and RUN QUICK FROM THE DINOSAUR!!!! (That is actually the real name of the 'game'.) Depending on my babysitting kids' mom and her ability to work around my cheerleading practice, I may or may not have to babysit! Tara: I'll take your kids any day! :smooth: Today will be packed to the gills with choir, volunteering, babysitting a possibility and cheerleading :cheer2: .

agotta: Good job and thank you!

My day has been flying by, actually. It's been pretty good so far. After today I am going to switch back to my POINTS plan. I miss it so much. Didn't think I would but I am much more aware of how I constantly snack on carbs...maybe a week or two of Atkins would be good (that I could survive!). Any suggestions on that matter? I think I actually forgot how to do Atkins! Meat, cheese, salad, veggies...etc. Can I have fruit?

I had my bubble bath yesterday. It was heaven on earth! I loved it...very appropriate.

Make this an awesome day!

Hey all!!!

Tigercheer....low carb stints really help me take notice of all those bad carbs I put in...no fruit on the first phases but later you can add them in...but honestly, I don't think a strawberry will hurt you! :) I stuck to salads for lunch, grilled chicken/lean meats and two veggies for dinner and eggs/bacon for breakfast. Now, I'm pretty much keeping my carbs below 50g a day...just trying to add fruit and whole wheat bread to the mix and keeping my activity level up. I can feel it working...two folks already commented on how they can tell I've lost in 2 weeks! :) YEAH!!!

I did pretty good on my eating, a slice of toast and scrambled eggs for breakfast, I did have a very small glass of grape juice because I'm out of fresh fruit and really felt I needed the carb after my long walk. For lunch I had a chicken salad and my one cheat for the day (somehow on weigh in days I allow myself a cheat..) well it was one piece of a hazelnut chocolate truffle...YUM! Tonight I'm going to slimfast because I'm too tired to cook and the kids are okay with corn dogs and broccoli...both of which I hate! :)

Gotta go walk my dog! Then drive 2 hours to meet my mother to pick up my purse I left in TN....I never realized how much I depended on my purse! :) Hopefully, won't get pulled over on the way to get it from her! :) She's coming to spend a week with my grandmother who lives a couple of hours away so we're hoping to rendezvous to pass off the purse...I'll listen to "Adventures in Odyssey" on the way there and hopefully the time will fly! :)

Hi, all!
I'm back...not all of me, but a good portion! ;)

I really don't want to give to much information, but I have some stomach problems (since I've been 12) and something set me off this weekend. I used to get really sick a lot and sometimes it gives me really bad anxiety. So, of course, I got really sick when I was not at home and, of course, it set my anxiety levels through the roof. I get really embarrassed to freak out about these things.

The doctor said I need to stick to a simple plain diet (i.e. veggies, fruits, whole grains, etc.) so that's the plan.

Sorry to sound so vague. It's embarrassing...and sad... :(

I'll be happier tomorrow! My mom and I are going to workout together! :)

Lisa,
Hope you have a GREAT day tomorrow! :sunny:
Enjoy your workout time with your mom!
DJ

Maria - Congratulations on the loss and good luck in DC.

Lisa - I hope things go better tomorrow. Hopefull, the doctors advise on diet will help you.

This week has gone well for me. I have stayed on plan and exercised 2 of the last 3 days. Fri. I will get up early and do both the weight machine and elliptical machine. I only work 4 hours on Fri. and then it is time to pack for Cedar Point the weekend. The in-laws are treating us to a weekend with them at Cedar Point. I will do my best not to stray to far off plan, but the good news is all the walking we will be doing should help.

Regina

Lisa-feel better, okay? We're all pulling for you. Enjoy your workout and don't hurt yourself.

Tara-No fruit? Well, I guess I can deal. I want to try a reduced carb plan. I can do all of those things. It might take a little doing, but I can do it! Thanks!! A lot!

Regina-Have fun at Cedar Point! I love Cedar Point! Make sure to try at least one small indulgence. Go for the salt-water taffy or the chili-cheese fries, ride lots of rides, and drink your water. If you're going to eat at a sit-down, go for the Midway Market. It's a buffet, but there are bound to be healthy choices there.

Man! I wish I could go to Cedar Point!!! I've heard such great things about it.....I've decided if our house doesn't sell by September we're going to take a modified Disney trip via Dollywood....not as great but we've never been and for our children's ages should do just fine....I hate even thinking of cancelling this trip for the 4th time but I'm feeling icky about it.

Well, my slimfast last night turned into two mini cheeseburgers from Hardee's....I had to leave to meet my mother to pick up my purse before my husband returned with the skim milk...and I figured they were like Krystal's so they hopefully were okay....but today I'm going to slimfast twice and eat a good dinner with salad...I like to mix things up with my body or it doesn't lose as well. My legs are still so sore so I know I'm building or repairing muscle which will help...just finished my 4.3 mile walk..that's 3 days in a row! Next week will be 5 in a row....that will be the true test.

TC2009...Hope you have a great start to a losing week! It won't be long and you'll be knocking on the 160's!

Regina! Have a great time walking that park and riding those rides!!! Say "whheeee" for me on a rollercoaster!

Lisa!!!! So sorrrrry to hear about your tummy...I don't think anything has made me feel worse than having tummy problems...there's just something about the pains down there that make it so you can't focus on anything else. Take some time and do what your doctor says and you'll be back and ready to take on some losing...just don't let losing be your focus while trying to get tummy back on track.

DJ! How are you doing??? I know you're going down like the wind!!!! I'm coming after your number so be ready to give it up for a new one! :)

Gotta go take my bath!

Tara

Morning All!! :cool1:

This is the second time this morning I am writing this - Bad PC :badpc:

Took Cody out twice yesterday for walks which total 2.5 miles......not bad but not great. Need to up that :bounce:

Went out with a friend last night to a wonderful steak house (Wildfire) but did not eat steak - had a tuna steak instead. Did have a wild raspberry martini - it was really good ;)

Ok done beating myself up and looking forward to staying on plan today :Pinkbounc Right now breakfast is 2 eggs, canadian bacon and ff cheese. Will probably have a piece of fruit.

Tara - Great job on the walking!! :bounce: Does the slimfast fill you up? I find that I need to have something to sink my teeth into.

Lisa - Sorry to hear about your tummy problems. I had gallstones many years ago. It was the worst when your tummy is out of whack.... :wizard:

Regina - Have a AMAZING time at Cedar Point - keep walking right by the food :rotfl:

DJ and Kathy - What's new? Haven't really heard from you in a few days. Bring us up to speed!!

TC2009 - Happy Friday!! What are your plans for the weekend?

Don't really have plans for the weekend. Makes it more difficult to plan when puppy needs to "relieve" himself every few hours. Would love to go to the movies but don't want to spend the money (8.50 - 9.00 per person :faint: )!! How much are movies where you live?

Anyway my friends - Have a GREAT FRIDAY!! Keep it moving and losing.....going for that piece of fruit.

Have a Magical Disney Day! :earsboy:
Linda

I didn't weigh-in last week due to everything that was going on, but today did show a 2lb loss from my last official weigh-in. That brings me to a total loss of 21lbs. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I am sure I will have more than one indulgence. We found a place in Frontiertown that sells frozen custard mixed with tropical flavored slushies.

TigerCheer- I believe the midway marketplace is where we will be eating lunch. They do have a limited salad bar, and normally some fruit, baked chicken, and vegetables. So I should be able to find something to eat. I do plan on packing some point friendly muchies so that I also know my MIL has packed some fruit for us and bought some Eddy's slow churned ice cream, which is 2pts for 1/2 cup.
