Not so good on the scale front. TOM decided to start four days before cheerleading camp, which means he'll still be there. Uggggggh. Plus, my eating choices have not been the very best, either. :guilty: And I have been retaining the Atlantic, I swear to you! I did a prelim weigh in and was kind of sad that I was barely scraping the bottom of the 180s.

Here's the big number: "189" on my scale which actually means 186! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! Nooooooo! I can fight back! I'm looking in to different plans as we speak so I'm on POINTS for now. What I do know is this:
:flower: Reduce the carbs but not totally low-carb
:flower: I'm working on drinking 100 ounces of water everyday (and not 100 at a time!)
:flower: I need something "new", planwise
:flower: I should change up my exercise
:flower: TOM is visiting

Maybe South Beach? Any suggestions? Exercise or food, maybe? I want to get back in business, but TOM is wreaking havoc at this moment.

Congrats Regina! The mashed potatoes are wonderful, if my memory serves. :teeth:!

Linda: Happy Friday to you too! I plan to reschedule the get together for sometime, choir practice, watching CSI tonight and going to see Batman Begins! Thank you! What are your plans?

Tara: It may take a little while longer than I originally planned to get down to knockin' into 160ville...but I can do this! I have to keep telling myself that everyone has off days/weeks and that weight loss is not a race. My mind says: GO FASTER! But my body says: I'll take my own pace, please! I will listen to my body for the time being and my mind when they agree.

Does ANYBODY know what good/smart carbs are? Purrrrfecta left a post in my journal asking if I ate good carbs and I had no idea what the heck they were. I thought: maybe straw? :rotfl2: I crack myself up!

Have a Fab Friday!

Hi

Not much to say this morning. I'm pretty irritated with myself. I had a 24 hour vacation from eating well and exercise. I'm trying to get back on track today. I don't know why I sabotage myself, but it's a pattern I keep repeating. I don't know why I can't seem to hold it together long enough to solidify a loss, but I have high hopes that I will at least minimize my damage if I get going with good stuff today. I really just had 2 meals worth of badness, so that shouldn't undermine all my efforts, at least I hope not.

I hope everyone else is having a spectacular Friday!

You can do this, Worfie!

Good luck!

Well just a couple of hours ago DH left to take the girls to their grandparents for the week (DH is returning tomorrow).

So I am home alone! It is SO cool!

Well I started (and will be working on over the next day) cleaning out my closet. I have taken every thing out of my closet and they are laying on the bed. Next I need to start sorting to figure out what to keep and what not to keep.

I did find something interesting, a pair of jeans from 10 years ago. The are Chics size 15/16 and they are TIGHT on me (I can zip them). So I am now totally convinced that sometime in the last 10 years clothes makers have been changing the sizes. I just go back from shopping at JCPenneys and I bought (after trying on) 4 shorts/capris and they were ALL size 10s! So how can those 15/16 be tighter on me than the 10s I just bought?

Anyway, I thought that was interesting, and it explains why I can't figure out the new sizes. I never EVER in my adult life wore a size 10, and I still need to lose 10-15 more pounds to just be at my correct weight (I won't be skinny by any means, just at my correct weight).

Oh well, it does sound nicer to say I am a size 10 than a 15/16 (but I really like those jeans and I am going to start wearing them again :) ).

I am on 'break' right now, so I am going to go get some iced tea and relax for a little while before getting back to work.

Talk with you guys later! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Debra

10!!!! Congrats Debra...wear those 10's with pride! Nice job.

I have a new favorite workout: FIRM Power Yoga. I feel really destressed after using it...it improves my balance. It's great. I will extol the values of it forever!

Must dash as it is storming and the power almost went out!

Hi everyone,

Well, It has been a week since I was cranky because my behind WAS 199. Well today I got on the scale and it actually went to 195.4!!WOOOHOOOO. I guess all that water and all those fruits and veggies I'm eating are doing the trick. I walked 3 days this week and will pick it up tomorrow. Going to a big Dis meet in Allentown so I want to excerise before I leave.

I decided I would post my weight on Fitday and than do a printout of the chart that they track your weight on, so I than hung it on the fridge so that everytime I wanted to open it, I saw that I was in the obese portion of the chart. It also shows how much weight I need to lose everyweek to meet my goal.

I gotta thank everyone for all the motivation and the stories of your successes and trials and tribulations. It really helps to know that we are all in the same boat. THANK YOU!!

Can someone please tell me how or where you got all your clippies from?
(not the wish ones, I know where to find them)

I would love to hear how this goes! I think that is great you guys are getting together. Too far for us to travel, but would love a report. Hope you have a good time!

Congrats on the walking. I am 'hoping' to start walking in the fall when my kids go back to school. For the summer, I just want to relax and hang with the kids and not think about a routine.

Have a great weekend!
Debra

I started walking right after the kids got out of school. I get up at 4:30 so that I can get the walk in before my youngest dd wakes up. I hope to be able to keep it up after school begins. I would be getting back in time to get showered, than wake the kids and take them in. I have to drive them as they would be on the bus for over an hour. Anyway, I'll let you know how the meet goes, this is the first one I've ever gone to, so I'm interested to see how it goes.

I'm very proud of all of us. Keep up the losing.

I spent the week on Long Island working at the office during the day and in the hotel room in the evening. I did not do a speck of exercise unless you count the time spent using the keyboard and 10 key as exercise for my fingers.

Still am overwhelmed with work. Need to figure out how to meet all deadlines before I have to take time off in Aug. Am trying to figure out how I can spend more time down on Long Island and still get the work done in my Syracuse office. The original plan was to spend every other week in each location. It has worked out to more like 3 weeks on the island and 1 week upstate each month.

My time off in August should be interesting. I am going to teach myself how to use the adding machine left handed to I can resume working quicker. I am having surgery on Aug 11 to repair the rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder. I am the most right handed person around. I do everything with my right hand except hold the phone. If I can become proficient enough running the adding machine left handed, it will make work easier as I will not have to keep putting down my pencil to add up numbers when I actually use pencil and paper instead of the computer.

Eating this week could have been better. I did not eat an entire supper any night. I took the left overs to work the next day for lunch. The night I got ziti, there was enough for 3 meals. Water consumption also was not the best but I tried to keep a bottle full at all time. The thing I kept forgetting was that I should empty it ocationally.

It appears everyone is doing great with their individual journies. I need to figure out how to be good more than one week at a time. Need to go to the fitness room immediateley after work, then eat supper and go back to work. Easier said than done as DD is usually starving whhen I get back to the hotel from work.

Have a great weekend.

eeeekkk...I tried to get get to this site but I kept getting "board not found.." I tried going through my history and bookmarks and same thing...soooo glad I finally was able to click on today...I've had problems with our server since moving here...can't figure it out...

I weighed 178.6 today...I know I shouldn't have weighed but I felt bad for having a Little Debbie nutter bar yesterday (slim-fasted two meals then had a turkey sandwich on wheat, baked cheetos, and a nutter bar...ugh) so I wanted to shock myself with a bad weigh in but it went down! :) YEAH!!! I really think it went down because my hamstrings don't feel as swollen...TOM has still not started and this makes a whole week of chest feeling like bricks! It'll probably hit tomorrow. I have two days off of exercise but I think I'll take TC2009's lead and do some yoga or pilates this weekend...I really need to fully stretch out my legs before I hit 5 days of 4.3 daily walks....I can feel everything getting tight.

Linda...you having computer glitches, too??? :sad2: Slimfast does really fill me up but mainly it's an easy way to know I'm not skipping a meal and I don't have to count calories at the meal I do have...I really can only do it solid (2 meals a day) for a week or two then I'll cut back to just a shake for dinner...I find if I eat a shake for dinner and maintain my walking...I limit the chances for hidden calories sneaking in past 6pm...and the weight comes off quicker. I'm really determined to get 20+ pounds off in 12 weeks so I'm being strong and trying to stay focused. Switching it up helps me stick to it. I just get that vision of that sleeveless bridesmaid dress and I think LOSE LOSE LOSE!!!

REGINA!!!!  GOODBYE TWO POUNDS!!! GOODBYE!!! A 2 pound loss is solid and you'll feel it all over!!! WAY TO GO!!!!

TC2009...You've got all the wisdom of how to pull this weight loss off...we're here to CHEER YOU ON!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I know that you can do this and yoga is a great way to get you in tune with your body and like the way it feels when it's being fed healthy and moved! :) Keep up the great work!!!! I think you'd like South Beach Diet...it really moves the scale those first two weeks and gets you out of eating junk...well, I say that and I had a nutter bar yesterday!

Schatz5k...WOW!!! THat's what I call a WHOOSH!!!! You'll be knocking on 180's any week now!!! I just feel it!!!!

Kathy! So good to hear from you!! I knew you had to be on the road...and ouch!!! A torn rotator cuff??? ICK! The only good news I can share is that my friend had hers repaired and she was amazed at how GREAT she felt after it and had use of her arm relatively quickly...hope it's the same with you!!!

Tara

GOOD Morning everyone! It's bright and sunny and all the rain has gone away! But sadly TOM has not and I will be with you in the TOM Boat, Tara, for a few more days.

Tara: What color is the bridesmaid dress? Can't wait to see/hear about it! Yoga is awesome. I love it. It also improves my balance too. I'm thinking of doing it since almost everyone is out of the house...(that means, you too, Corey Little Brother!) Thanks for the inspiration. I plan on starting SBD after I do my research on it and tell my parents what I'm going to do/how I'm gonna do it. (They like staying in the loop...who'da thunk it? Besides, they want to ask questions and make sure it's safe. I can't blame them...I'd wanna know to if it were my child.)

Kathy: ohmyGOSH! Are you okay? What happened? is there ANYTHING I can do? Feel better quick, okay!

I haven't had breakfast yet...I'm too busy planning my DECEMBER 05 Disney trip!!!!!!!!!!

Oh...and I also weighed in at 183 this morning! Slowly going back to the happy place... :cool1:

Everyone is gone now...10:45 I have a date with FIRM Power Yoga and Kirsten Stroebaker.

I'm back, again. Thankfully, I am done with vacations and trips and such for a few weeks.

Scale is still at 201, so at least I didn't gain, and actually I probably lost with all the activity, but it may take a day or two to see the weight settle out. Camping with DD7 was fun, but they served way too much highly processed food. I tried to be careful on what I ate, as it just wasn't appealing and didn't taste that good. When I got home yesterday, I went shopping for real food and found my cart loaded with fruits, veggies, eggs, yogurts, etc, without thinking much about it.

Back on track already! I hope to catch up with the thread by the first of the week. Lots to do around here, so I better get going.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend and keep up the losing pace. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Tc2009 - I think I actually tore the rotator cuff last July when we moved our office. I had the MRI in Jan which confirmed the tear. The dr just wanted to exhaust all possibilities before actually doing the surgery. I was ready to have it repaird last Oct. One good thing I cans see about it is hopefully it will slow me down for a couple of weeks.

Erin tells me she is going to make me watch disney while recuperating. It seem to me I always fall asleep because of the pain meds.

Tara - great job on the continued weight loss. You are sure to meet your goal before the wedding. Keep up with the good eating and the exercise.

Linda - hope your exercise and eating are going well. Did you get DD1 ATM card straghtened out for her? It's tought to help out when they are so far away.

Leslie - great job on maintaining.

Everyone - have a great weekend

Jen - How long is the yoga tape and what is the exact title please:):)

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Linda

It's called The FIRM Power Yoga and it lasts 30 minutes. Glad to be of help...the boards are awfully quiet today!

Hey gang!!! I just got back from the space center...they have a antigravity ride called space shot that I hope will make pounds disappear! :) It's like one of those free fall rides..they zoom you up to a high height, then drop you like a rock...literally my tail is not on the seat of the ride for atleast 4 seconds...I know because I can't breathe until it hits! :) But what a cooool ride! :) It's so funny to see the adults faces who are riding it for the first time. I love thrill rides and that one made me feel lightweight which was a great feeling! :)

I had a taco salad for lunch but had lots of chips and that white cheese queso dip..yummy! So it's slimfast for me for dinner...but I only finished half my salad...it was sooo good...Rosie's Cantina...had never been there before...we have friends here on a cub scout outing to the space center from our old home in TN and they may come swimming after they leave there...so maybe I'll get some exercise after all today! :)

Keep up the great losing gang!!!! Knew the TC2009 weight was false yesterday...glad to see it going back to it's losing position! :)

Sounds like the Tower of Terror! Actually, I don't like free fall rides like this. I did the Tower of Terror just to 'see' the theming at least once, but probably won't do it again.

Glad you had fun. Enjoy your Slimfast! Isn't it hard to stay on track when you are away from home! I really wish more places offered low calorie options. I do like the new McDonalds Apple/Walnut salad, but those walnuts are VERY HIGH in calories. If you just eat with without the walnuts it isn't too bad.

Hope everyone is having a good day. We have a BEAUTIFUL day here. We are going car shopping. I think we might be getting a new one with that GM Employee Discount offer they extended. I hate to get rid of our old car (9 1/2 years old) because my mom bought it for me (she died 5 years ago). But it is getting old and has a lot of miles. I guess things always have to change.

Anyway, DH just came in to get me, so it's time to go. Talk with you later.
Debra
