Hi Tara! Shh...the weight doesn't know its false yet! Thanks for all the support you guys! I appreciate it!

YEA FOR ME!!!! :cool1:

Cody was traumatized going to the vet today....so he slept most of the afternoon. DH was in Wisconsin at a car show and DD17 was out (yea for that also) so.............

I got my big butt off the couch and did Walk Away The Pounds 3 miles!!!  Pretty tired by the ended but finished it.

Now enjoying a plum and a good book..........This was a goooooood afternoon.

Kathy - DD20 is still without an ATM card - we have determined that her best chance is with a debit card (needs a mastercard or visa logo) tied into her checking acct. Unfortunately the bank does not issue there - have to order will take a week and then I have to express ship to her. In the meantime she has the money I sent Western Union. As much as I don't want to see you have surgery I know many who have had it and they are glad they did :goodvibes

Jen - How do you like the yoga tape? Have you tried any other?

DJ - How was car shopping? I find it stressful

Tara- You have a solid stomach!!! ;) I have been on TOT and can't barely deal with it. I am not a roller coaster person - :bitelip: Yea for you!! Been to the space center in Huntsville with a team of ice skaters - they really liked it.

Waiting for DH to get home then going to a local community food fest.....DD17 is working at one of the booths. Yes, I will watch what I am eating before it goes in my mouth :rotfl2:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am back! And, as you may have detected in a fabulous mood!

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement! I'm feeling much, much better!

As for my health/diet, I am taking it slow. Although I am totally freaking out because I have a wedding shower to go to in 2 weeks, school starts in 6 weeks (AH!), and a wedding in 8 weeks! I have to get to the gym!!!!!!!!

OK, I'm calm now, really, well, maybe! (LOL!)

It sounds like our group has had some awesome progress! Woo hoo!

Keep working hard! :)

Well we found the car we wanted. The funny thing is the salesperson was standing in the lot and when we got out he said, "You look familar." At first I didn't place him, but we go to the same church (it's a big church with 2 services, so we don't always see each other, but his granddaughter is in the same Sunday School class with my twins). I think we got a good deal, and I am happy with the offer. We pick it up on Monday. I am going to be SO sad to see my car from my Mom go, BUT I know my mom and dad would have both told us to take the deal. My dad always loved getting new cars.

Anyway, what is WALK AWAY THE POUNDS? Is it a video or something? I have a treadmill, but I have to find something to keep my attention when I am walking on it (which I am not doing at the time, hope to start when school starts).

Good for you! Everyone is doing so well exercising. I am almost ashamed (I said almost, I really REALLY hate exercising). :flower:

Congrats on the new car!! :flower: But you didn't say what kind of car it is?????? Inquiring minds want to know :rotfl2:

Walk Away The Pounds tapes are by Leslie Sansone. They range from 1 mile to 4 miles. They are NOT meant to do on a treadmill. You can use them in a small amount of space in front of a tv. Anyone can do them!! EVEN ME!!!! :rotfl: They are anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour long. The four basic steps are walking in place, knee lifts, side steps and kicks. They are great for a change of pace.

Check out Amazon.com for descriptions and reviews. I got my DVDs used from Amazon or Ebay.

LISA - Sounding GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD Girl!! :cool1: Glad you are back!!

Have a magical Disney Day!!

Oh, we are getting a Pontiac Vibe. They extended that GM employee discount offer to everyone and we have a GM credit card where we can apply points/dollars that we earned from that. So it ended up being a pretty good deal, I guess. I really hate buying cars. I think it is stressful too, but DH seems to be happy about it, so that helps.

The walking tapes sound good. Where did you get them? I really need to find something that works for me. I am losing weight alright without the exercise, but I want to build strength so I can bike and hike with my family.

Debra

I just went over to the library website and requested the Walk Away the Pounds DVDs. I am number 6 on the list, so I when I get it I will give it a try. Thanks for mentioning it!

Hi! I'm late to the party!

Linda-I've done other videos, but have always wanted to try yoga. Plus it was BRAND NEW!!!!

Glad you found the car you wanted, DJ! I too would like to know about WATP, please and thank you!

LISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you're back and feeling good! I was worried about you there. School starts in six weeks for you? Holy COW! It's almost August, already isn't it?

Better get to bed. I am tired.

Night night all! Sweet dreams!

Morning All!! :sunny:

Cody gets me up waaaaaay to early for a Sunday - well I really think it is a conspiracy between him and one of the cats (Scooter) - Scooter likes to sing to me early in the morning and I think it wakes Cody up :rotfl2: Wanted to stuff a sock in both of them :rotfl2:

The walk away the pounds Dvd - go to www.collegevideo.com - they list all sorts of exercise tapes with descriptions and customer reviews. I usually can find the DVD cheaper somewhere else - Also Amazon.com gives good descriptions with customer reviews.

The WATP DVD are basically marching in place to music. She is very good about keeping your interest level up. No I wouldn't do these everyday for an extended time but do I like them :sunny: Most of them you don't need any extra equipment.

DJ - YEA for you!! We are Pontiac people. My DH best friend is a general manager of a Pontiac dealership so we get really good deals. We have two Grand Ams, one Grand Prix and I drive an Aztec which they don't make any more. The Vibe looks really cute - let us know how you like it.

Today is the bridal shower and then hoping to get Cody to walk. Ever since he went to the vet yesterday (on his leash) he won't go for a walk. Coincidence or ?????? Any suggestions.

Have a Magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Hi

I'm sort of embarrassed to come back here. I have been on a 4 day retreat from not all, but most that is good. I also leave on my business trip tomorrow, so I won't be able to check in again until Wednesday evening -- probably more like Thursday morning. Just having one of those down times.

Reading all the posts from this weekend has been encouraging. I just have to pick myself up and try again. I did get a few things to help on my trip -- Kashi trail mix bars and TLC crackers. I plan to walk and drink water as much as I can.

I had to go to my best friend's birthday party friday night, and even though she's my WW buddy, there was really nothing diet friendly to eat. Let's just say I let things spiral out of control. I haven't been on my treadmill since Wednesday. We had some water issues in our basement, Cindy dropped a ton of water on us. I'm hoping I can get back on today.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that being able to come here really is a help. I probably wouldn't even try to do well on my trip if it weren't for this thread.

Thanks, Everybody!

I'll check in once more before I head off. I hope this is a losing day for us all!

Hey all!

Linda-I can handle marching to music! Heck I can do it for free and every fall! Thanks!

Worfie-Everyone has bad days. The good news is, you picked yourself up and started on the healthy living track again.

Cheerleading camp starts tomorrow 6-9 pm! Can anyone give me some good ideas of a healthy dinner to pack?

How about a pita pocket salad. Just get some pita pocket bread and stuff it with your favorite veggies and put some low cal dressing on it. The take some carrots and an apple. OR go to Subway and buy a veggie sub and put it in the fridge tonight and take it tomorrow with some carrots and an apple.

You could also get those 100 calorie snack bags for a snack later on (we like the Ritz Mix 100 calorie bags).

Oh and to drink, freeze a bottle of water and it should be melted by the time you have your meal.

Have fun!

Going to a big Dis meet in Allentown so I want to excerise before I leave.

Just wondering if you are back and how was it? There is a small report on the Allearsnet.com website about it. Did you enjoy it. What did you guys do? Were there a lot of kids there too? I would love to hear all about it!

Hello 150 (+/-) ers!

I WISH you a very happy and successful week!

Good Morning Losers!! :sunny:

Survived the bridal shower yesterday. 40 women in the same room - and feeling good since I was one of the hostesses and all went well!! :cool1: Personally I was not impressed with the food - had a chopped salad and it was bland - only ate 1/2 which I guess was good for me :rotfl:

Today focusing on getting some exercise in - Cody has gone on stike with walking.....HELP!!!! He went to the vet on Saturday and since then does not want to go to the front of the house and for a walk :confused3 Granted DD17 has not been around for 2 days and I know that has been bothering him. Doesn't he understand that I NEED TO EXERCISE :rotfl:

DD20 called yesterday from Spain - she is having a blast!! Money situation is still not fixed but handling it well. Hope to send her a new debit card by this weekend.

Lisa - Thanks for the inspiration - it is sooooooo true!! :goodvibes

Jen - since you are thinking about South Beach - how about some turkey/cheese rollups. You can secure them with a toothpick. Have fun at camp.........what year are you going to be in school?

Maria - Consider yourself scolded!! Why would you EVER be embarassed to come back to us. :flower: We have all gone on retreat - me more than others :rotfl: Just put the past behind you and leave it in your exercising dust  Have a good safe trip!!

Off to start my day!!

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Happy Monday!

I wanted to check in one more time before I head off -- I promise to have better posts when I get back.

I have packed healthy snacks, so as long as I don't purchase anything less than stellar, I should do all right. I'm expecting to have a gain when I weigh in Wednesday, but it won't be as bad as it could have been if I eat well.

I hope everyone has a fantastic beginning of the week! I'm really going to miss the DIS while I'm away... C'ya soon!

Linda: Turkey and cheese roll-ups sound wonderful...as do DJ's suggestions. t will be my second BIG year as a marcher. (1/2 freshman/1/2 sophomore...you guys won't respect me any less, will you? Some people will, and do in my town... I have to be totally honest with you or how can I be honest with myself?) And what is a chopped salad?

Thanks Lisa!

DJ: The Pita Pocket Salad sounds awesome...I think I will put you and Linda's ideas together! Thank you...I'm not so big on the Veggie Sub, personally.

MENU: Pita pocket salad, turkey and cheese rollups, apple, 100 calorie pack fruit snackies!! :-) And I'm bringing two liters of water...not a two-liter, but two separate liters of water.

Helllooo gang!

Well, I missed my walk this morning...I might could have done it...Hurricane Dennis was out my door and really wasn't bad...but with the winds I was afraid to risk it. I'm going to squeeze in an hour of cardio pilates instead...then pick up my walking tomorrow.

I did crappy yesterday on eating...had my slimfast then had guthrie's chicken fingers and fries..I vowed that's the last fry I have until the wedding. I also had a few handfuls of movie popcorn and about 20 M&M's...so it was just a junk food day and of course TOM started yesterday...what is it with TOM and junk food? The good news is I have no appetite today...TOM does that too for me but I feel all bloated with all that junk so needing to get back into losing mental focus.

TC2009...great job on cheering and marching!! They're both great forms of exercise and I think make for a well-rounded young gal! It teaches you who and what type of personalities make your best friends when you see others that give you flack for choosing to march or whatever you might do....all I can say is SHALLOW! Music is such an important part of a developing brain...be thankful you chose that path when you're 80 and you're mind is like a whip and they're trying to remember what they had for breakfast! :)

Lisa! Thanks for the great thought of the day...if you have more handy I love to read those!!! :) I'm in a wedding in 12 weeks...let's band together and get toned!!! :)

Worfiedoodles...have a great trip!!! Good job packing the right stuff!! We love you and know you can do this!!!!

I'll try and catch up....gotta go teach some....reading is next...I love that part of school! :)

Tara

GOOD MORNING everybody!

Tara-Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. Music does stimulate the brain...we learned that in ElemMusic (music at the elementary school). I am in the TOMboat with you for at least two more days...through cheerleading camp. UGH. I'm kinda nervous about cheerleading camp...I heard we have to do a 1hr stretching routine...not fun. I am kinda psyched but I won't get to use these awesome skills until the basketball season kickstarts!

My very best cheerleader friend asked me why I didn't do like another band/cheerleader did...dress in the cheer uniform, cheer and march at halftime. I told her that I wouldn't be able to do it in my present state, but it was gradually getting better. All of us JVers (the three who showed up to practice...the other four were off doing things) were practicing and the sophomore said "Well, we could be the fat squad...I'm the fattest one of all you all." She's all muscle, and she's got a runner's build, but in no way fat. I said "Well, look at me!" just to get their reaction. They were all "No...Jen, you're not fat at ALL!" It made me feel good, but I couldn't dtand to hear them putting themselves down.

Off to go shave my legs and practice...bye!

My it is quiet here today! :)

I had a pretty good day! I went to have another checkup with my doctor. He said all looks good. We talked about a couple of things - my back and me wanting to lose weight. He gave me an order for physical therapy to try to get rid of a muscle spasm I've had for about 4 months now. It really doesn't hurt that bad, but drives me nuts anyways!

As for the weight loss, he said I need to do this on my own - no pills, etc. I said I completely agreed. I want to do this for me and not just because of a pill. Not to be knocking medication, but, for me, I know that I can do this. I love my doctor I really do! He said I have it in me and he wants so see me back in a month or so for another checkup. And he said to come in anytime I need another swift kick in the behind! LOL! So funny...I like people with a good sense of humor!

So, with that, I headed to the grocery store and bought a bunch of good things to eat! I didn't really make time for exercise today. Whoops!

I really, really have to get cracking on this weight loss thing and on my homework for my next class. All the paper work has to be done by Monday. Just take a wild guess how much I have actually started...hehehe...

Have a great night and I will write soon! :)
