OH MY GOSH!!!
Tiggerkeeper!!! YOU ARE ROCKING!!!! You are where I should be!!! :) But, now I'm not feeling sorry for my self any longer! I'm hitting my 150's or BUST tail sign tomorrow...I'm stamping it on my butt and I hope people ask me what the heck that means...hey, I may even go get a T-shirt with 150's Club on it and wear it all winter long underneath my workout clothes...

I've been ashamed, I'm scared to get on the scale, I've blown the 176 I saw last October...I've let life get in the way, I felt like I let you guys down because I started this thread and I STILL haven't made it to the 150's!! But, hang in there with me gang, I'm back and I will promise to post weekly if only for my weigh in...dh is back to recording my weight and will tell me my pounds lost...I told him I don't want to know what I weight till I see 176 again....that could be a month or so down the road, though...but hang on and EVERYONE!!! THANKS FOR HANGING IN THERE AND KEEPING this thread alive for all the great folks seeking their 150 frame! :)

Love you guys! Will post my losses every Sunday... Starting tomorrow I'll have a starting point! :)

Tara

Welcome back Tara. Nice to see you back. Yes life does get in the way. Now it is time to take care ourselves. We do it for everyone else but not for us.

I too should be where Tiggerkeeper is but I have been fooling around with the same 5 pounds for the last ten weeks. I am now committed to trying to keep myself healthy and maybe down a few pounds before Christmas.
4 weeks away

We can do it. Good luck Tara. I too want to see the 150's next year.

Way to go Tiggerkeeper!! I broke 180 this morning, surprised the heck out of me...I was hoping for an even week what with bad things over the weekend. -Don't get me wrong, not complaining...means those really chilly walks are paying off.

Have a great week everyone, and those of you on plateaus...kick it up just a tiny notch if you can...I added weights to my evening walks a couple of months ago and that's really made a difference. :cheer2:

Good Morning, Ladies!

Not having my computer this weekend has been so odd...I had forgotten what it was like to not be able to access the Internet whenever I want to. I'm hoping it will be repaired this week, and I will be able to get my life back!

Thanksgiving was o.k. It could have been a lot better, it could have been a lot worse. I literally saw my belly reinflate, so I am back on the YOU diet and exercise. I had the pizza last night for dinner. Today I had oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast, and I'm having soup with carrots for lunch, an apple and grapes and oat cereal snack mix for snacks, and royal pasta provencale for dinner. I'm also going for that 1/2 hour walk on the TM as soon as I get home! It's still not repaired, so I can only walk on it...

CoasterAddict -- I'm glad the weights added the kick you needed. Your doing great! :cool1:

Dona -- I don't want to even talk about how I've been losing and gaining the same 10 lbs. It's really sad. I need to go on "The Medium Loser", and then I think I could do it! :rotfl:

Tara -- We are going to get there, I promise. All we have to do is make weight loss our highest priority. If only it were that simple! ;) But we can do this!

Melissa -- You are totally rockin'! Congratulations on a fantastic accomplishment! :cheer2:

Wendy -- It sounds like you had a wonderful holiday! I'm so glad you were able to relax and enjoy your family. :goodvibes

Taraprather -- Welcome! It sounds like you are well on your way to fantastic success! :bounce:

Thanks for all the encouragement, and success stories. It's great to see the possibilities! :grouphug:

I wan t to join your club! I am nervous but I am going to weigh in tonight and see what the damage is...I am PRAYING that I am under 200 pounds but I will let yow know..................................
I am going on Disney Cruse 4-28-06 so I have got to get started! Please help me! :cheer2:

Welcome aboard. This is a good place too get started. Most of us are doing our own thing but coming here for encouragement

I have been playing with the 200 mark for the last year or so. I was down to 190 but I bought a new scale and then gained a couple of pounds. I have been working to stay under 200 for the last month but it keeps jumping around.

We are all in the battle together and we help each othe along through good times and in bad. Post when you have a question or comment. You will get to know the regulars pretty quickly. Some days are busier than others.

Just keep up the hard work.

Wow, we are getting some action now! Welcome briarroseALS! :wave2: This is a great place for support!! Jump on in, grab a glass of water and post away!

I have been taking advantage of the warm weather we have been having to take my walks outside. I need to enjoy before I have to get back on the TM. Ugh!

Tara, hey stranger glad to see you here! Life does seem to get in the way but it is good to see you haven't lost your desire! Get going!!

Maria, now that you re-focused...charge! :cheer2:

Dona, I think we all battle that same number up and down at some time. Yuck! It would be nice if we could kick it to the curb and be rid of it forever without effort! :rotfl:

Coaster, WTG on breaking 180. Sometimes when we least expect it we get a great surprise! What a nice payoff!

Wendy, I'm jealous I'd love to have ALL my family under the roof at the same time. Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday. :sunny:

Well, I am finally starting the weight training I have been talking about this very night. Here's hoping I am not too sore tomorrow. Good luck this week everyone. Get your game on and let's get this done!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

And newbies we will be watching for you! Good luck!

Can I join your club? My ideal weight is or was around 140, however, now that I'm in my 40s I will settle for 150-155. I'm embarrassed to admit how much I weigh now, but lets just say that it will take a while to get there. I'm joining WW at work in January, if we get the minimum 20 people required. My first goal is just to build up my stamina and lose at least 20 pounds before I go away next summer (although 30 - 40 would make me happier, but I need to be realistic this time!). I could use all the encouragement I can get ...so I will be checking in here periodically to give you updates. I'm going to start now by just cutting down on the Pizza and chocolate. Then get serious in January. Thanks in advance for the support I know I will get after reading previous posts.!

Dr Oz is going to be on Oprah today if the schedule is the same all over.

Just thought you should know.

Welcome MJGirl

Welcome MJGirl!! :wave2: You can get comfy now but come January we'll be watching you!! :cheer2: Congrats on making the decision to lose and getting a plan...sometimes that is the hardest part. Come visit us often and post a thing or two!! :thumbsup2

Good Saturday morning.

How is everyone doing? I know how busy everyone is. I still have some more Christmas shopping to do, the house to clean and cards and decorations to do. I am still waiting for some packages to come in the mail and I have a few things to order on line. The rest I will pick up after school next week.

I am trying to get some of the baking done so I can concentrate on dieting so today I made some cookie dough to put into the freezer. With chocolate chip I will scoop and freeze and then put into containers. I also made the dough to make vanilla and chocolate pinwheel and then put it into the freezer so that I can use them when I need to.

I have my appointment with my doctor on Monday.I went for blood work yesterday to check my choleterol. It was up in Aug even with losing weight over the year. If it is not down on Monday I will be put on medication.

I was late to school yesteday morning because of the blood work. My "friend" was supposed to cover my class. When I got to my classroom 13 minutes late (I shouldn't have stopped in the bathroom) No one was covering my class. My class was just sitting there studying for their test. And this was a low level geometry class. I could not believe how good they were. My friend did not remember until the class was almost over.

I hope the weather is getting better in your part of the country. It was windy last night and my yard is covered in plastic bottles that were in the recycle bucket.

Off to grade some calc papers from yesterday. SOme of the kids have already emailed me about their grades. Some can't wait unitl Monday to see how they did.

Hey Dona, WTG on getting the "treats" out of sight out of mind. I should do some of that too! :cool1: Hope everything goes well Monday with the cholesterol numbers. The thought of medicine is not ideal but if it will help the problem I guess we have no choice. BUT on a brighter note you are doing something about those numbers by dieting and exercising!!

And my hat is off to you :teacher: teaching math subjects to kids!! :worship: You have a very stressful job. Thanks for doing it!! I really admire those who can teach!! :woohoo: Maybe that geometry class  believes in :santa:!

Have a great weekend!! :grouphug:

Hello! I have been missing in action, but have been busy!

I think I mentioned the DR putting me on some new meds to help with the pain I have and I think it is going to work! Yeah! It will be wonderful to sleep like a baby again!

Time to catch up!

I would like to say HELLO to MJGirl and briarroseALS for jumping in with us! Yeah!

Tara-- :rotfl: ok--I can see the stamp (150 or bust) now, and I think it can be a big motivator for anyone! Although the t-shirt would be a great idea. And perhaps less painful! :goodvibes Or, a key chain--like the ones you make out of beads that spell stuff. Oh yeah, I can see that now!

Dona--You really sound like the holidays are keeping you busy. So, you teach math? My son really enjoys math. He's in 12th grade calc. He is going on to Mich Tech so, it is a good thing he likes math so much.

Melissa--yes, I really loved doing Thanksgiving this way. We had a great day, and stress was not an issue for anyone. I am going to keep it going. There is just the 5 of us, and it just makes sense. I would like to note the 162!  Wonderful! I haven't seen that since pre-first child! I am hoping to get to 180 by this time next year, about 30 pounds. Then, the next 30 may be something to work towards. Just getting to 180 will be 70 pounds. Amazing! You did great! And those new hipsters will feel fabulous on you! I do miss those! A new goal for me!

Coasteraddict--180! :cheer2: Great for you! Is there a 'treat' for yourself like the trappzee lessons? Give yourself a hug!

Maria--I must agree that you never miss the computer until it isn't accessable. I am not on alot by normal standards, but it would drive me batty if I knew it wasn't there to log on to. I too am saddened by having to jump on the treadmill. The snow we got this Friday offically made it too cold to walk outside. I know the dog is going to miss it, and I will too. But, TM, here I am!

Hope all have some great losses this week, and a healthy one!

OH! Did I mention my DS (17) has been accepted to Michigan Tech University! He wants to be a Chemical Engineer and work at WDW! Such a good boy! He wants to get into earth science of Chem Eng and do pyrotechnics! Water treatment is another option. Just so long as it is at WDW.

Ciao for now!

Wendy

Wendy, Welcome back. It is nice to see you again.

I'm glad that you think the medication is going to work. That will make life so much easier. I don't think that we think about how life could be so different with just one or two problems. I have a couple of friends who are handicapped. Listening to them talk about how they miss putting on pantyhose made me think about how lucky I am that I can. Until you have a problem you really don't think about it.

Congrats on your son getting into Michigan Tech. My younger son is a junior but he is looking into Civil Engeneering. He is looking at Rutgers and a couple of other schools in nj.

I have been teaching AP calc for the last 5 years (teaching high school for almost 30 years) I am really enjoying it. It is a lot of fun. Someone has to do it.

Ok we are getting lazy I want to see some posts! How is everybody doing??? :cheer2: I have hit another plateau, ugh! Need a buster week!

Wendy, I am all for sleeping like a baby! There are times when meds are the greatest, glad to hear you are getting relief. And :yay: for your son getting accepted to Michigan Tech!

Dona, thanks for posting and keeping this thread going!! Hope you have a great week!!

Keep up the exercise and the water even though it is a challenge during the stress of the holidays! You can do it! :cheer2: :cheer2: Even maintaining during the holidays can be a battle but we can do it!! :bounce:

good evening everyone.

Today hasn't been the best day. My bp was 120/78 for my doctor but cholestoral only went down 10 points. It is at 249 with not a great ratio. She is trying me on Lipitor for the next 4 months. I need a blood test in 6 weeks and then one in early April to see how I am doing. I am not happy but with the numbers not going down dramatically I need to do this. I can blame it on my mother. She is also on Lipitor (my doctor asked me if a family member was on medication for this and what. She feels that if a family member does well on it I should probably do well on it)

I'll start on it tomorrow.

Have a nice evening.

Dona - I have been on Lipitor for about 3 years now. My was inherited from my father. My mother has very low cholesterol. It isn't so bad to take since yours seems to be heriditary like mine. All the diet changes in the world will make no difference. I get blood tests every 6 months to monitor the reaction to the medication and to make sure it is still doing what it is supposed to do.

Thanks Kathy for the kind words. It's nice to know someone else is in the same boat. I will pick up the prescription tonight and start it tomorrow morning.
