Hello to all! :wave2: Hope it is a good week! I am trying to lose at least 2 this week would love 5!! Hey I'll take what I can get!! TOM is tripping me up this week.

Kathy, glad to see you getting back in the swing of things! :thumbsup2

Dona, I think we all will be focusing on the New Year for getting back to brass tacks! There is just soooo much going on it makes it hard to concentrate on behaving!!

Enjoy your friends and family through the holiday season! :sunny: I am going to a pre-school Christmas pagent tonight so I can see some of "my boys" be angels. :teeth:

Wow!! You guys are so inspiring!!! Melissa, I'm going to have to search back posts and see what's gotten you this far! I hope to be at Goal by August and have a mental attitude of CAN DO FINALLY!!! I've just not wanted to lose weight the last 6 months...well, okay, I wanted to lose weight but not more than I wanted to just not think about losing weight and focus on my family and activities...but I find I can do more with my family and have more energy by losing the weight and staying active, I have done great at walking 15-20 miles a week so atleast I got that going for me...just need to curb the intake....

2007 will see this crew hitting some 150 numbers! Melissa...I bet you're gonna be the leader of the pack this year! :) Thanks everyone for posting and keeping the dream alive!

I missed my weigh in on Monday, but have a doctor's appointment on January 16th..so I'm just going to let that by my weigh in and focus on eating right and exercising until then...

Tara

Tara, hey girl! :wave2: Glad to see you checking in!!! 2007 is a new year for new goals! :woohoo: There is a lot to what you said about the mental drive to lose weight. If you can get the mental and the physical lined up you can kick booty!! Got my fingers and toes crossed for ya! :cheer2:

I am hoping to see everybody back come January with some winning attitudes and some awesome goals!! :Pinkbounc :sunny:

HI Tara glad to see you again.

I love the positive attitude I have been hearing on some of the threads here at WISH. It is nice to have this positive attitude going into the this crazy season. It will help us go into the new year better than those people who just think about it on Jan 1st. We have three weeks on most of the world. All of us are going into this holiday season better people because we know what we want and we are really not waiting to get it. Even though many of us are saying that we are waiting for the new year I think most of us are more aware of our eating patterns now than we were in the past and that will help us now more than ever. I know each of us will think before we eat something. We may stilleat it but we may now not eat as much as in the past.

Keep coming here over the next few weeks to keep getting some inspiration from each other. Together we can make a difference in our lives.

Dona, that was beautiful! And so very true! Instead of just thinking about it we are doing it! Step 1 is the decision, Step 2 is the action

Hello ladies, I have been sick all week so I have not been around.

Tiggerkeeper, congrats on reaching 60 pounds! I love hearing others success stories it keeps me motivated. I need to lose about 40 lbs before DH comes back from Korea in August. He'll walk off the plane and see the woman he married instead of the fat that replaced her :rotfl2:

I have been hearing good things about the You on a Diet book. I might need to look into that one. I have been thinking about taking the kids out in the stroller and walking around the neighborhood for a workout. It'll have to wait until after January though because I'm getting a tonsillectomy(sp?) next week. It's supposed to be a very painful surgery for an adult, so I'll be sure to check in next weekend for support  On the up side, the doctor said I'll probably lose about ten pounds from inablity to eat solid food for about a week. I got myself some shakes for calories because I'm still breastfeeding.

Michelle First let me thank you and your husband for what he is doing for us (I am assuming that he is the military) Don't put too much pressure on yourself to lose a certain amount of weight by Aug. Just try to be the best that you can be by the time he gets home. Don't set a number, just try to get healthy. He will love that more and you will not be disappoointed if you don't hit that certain weight.

What day are you having your tonsils out? Just want to know so that we can be sending you PD. Hope you are feeling better so that they can do the surgery.

Have a good day everyone.

Hello All! Been a busy week, and I did get lots of stuff done! Yeah!

Good to 'see' you Tara!

Michelle--I was 32 when I had my tonsils out. They made me stay over night in the hospital. I didn't think it was too painful, because it was so painful to start out with! I know that I was healthier afterwards! Good luck to you! Rest, and whisper! You on a diet is a good book. Lots of good wisdom!

Ok everyone! Thanks for the pats for the weight loss. Was at same weight when I WI yesterday. Thats good! Did indulge twice in the last week. (I just log EggNog, and especially EggNog Ice cream!) With the weather exceptionally nice right now, the dog is happy to be able to go on walks outside. My DD is working on adding up the miles walking. We haven't been as diligent this past week, but with concerts, new student orientation for DH, and later hours for me, we are getting there slowly!

Some good thoughts--I am just about done with Christmas shopping. We are having a small Christmas. We are just going to spend the day together, open a few gifts, and just relax. It has been 3 years since DH's father has passed away, but Christmas still seems sad. I think it is because it is just us for my mother in law. My DH has one brother, and he is single without children. And my family is on the other side of the state. So, it is more noticeable that someone is missing. His parents were married for over 60 years. So, we have found out (after the first very rough year) that keeping it simple helps.

Ok, since I have babbled enough, time to catch up on other things!

Great losses to all! And, warm wishes to help with the holidays!

Wendy

Hello ladies, I hope you are all having a great weekend. Only this weekendand next weekend to finish all of that Christmas shopping. I hope you don't have to go to the Mall to finish anything :scared1: we just drove past and I wanted to :faint: !!

Donac, thank you for your support. DH is in the Army. My surgery is the 22nd just in time to ruin Christmas. But at least I won't over-induldge on Cookies ;)

tbstein, I'm glad the surgery didn't hurt that much, I was hopping that all they have been telling me was an exaggeration

Alright that is enough for today! See you all tomorrow.

Michelle Good luck with the surgery. I'm sure that you will be fine.

How is everyone doing with their shopping. I went to my crfedit union yesterday to get Visa gift cards for the last people on my list but the Visa computer was down. That was one of the reasons I went down there and then I waited almost a 1/2 hour to be told that I couldn't get them. But they did telll me come back on Monday and they will waive all the usual fees. I'll take that. 4 quick stops on Monday and I am done with shopping except for food shopping, that I will do next Sat very early when everyone else is doing their last minute Christmas shopping.

I spent a lot of time wrapping presents yesterday and I am almost done with that. We put up the tree on Friday night and the lights went up. I started putting on ornaments last night but I stepped wrong and fell so I stopped for the night. I didn't hurt myself but killed a plastic Frosty ornament. It wasn't a sentimental favorite so I am not upset.

Today I have a million things to do. The house needs to be cleaned, I need to go grocery shopping, do my cards all after Church. I also have to help the costume/set guy at my son's schhool play cut some fabric for drops for the school play.
Good luck with everything that you have to do. I week until Christmas Eve

Hello all!

Yep, Michelle, they do tell you the worse, although I know you will do well! Just take it slow! If you don't feel like talking, everyone will understand. It was pretty quiet around here during my recovery. Like I said, it was so nice not to have strep and such all the time, the surgery seemed easy!

Dona, I have most of my gifts, but haven't organized myself into wrapping. I need to pick up a few, such as gift cards, and then I am done! We still need to put up the tree! As you mentioned, lots of stuff to do yet. I also go to pick up groceries the 23rd while all are running around the gift departments. Just works better!

Well, everyone else went to DS's soccer game. The dog and I stayed behind. I enjoy the quiet, and can finish baking while they are gone. There is a pie in the oven now. Pumpkin--DS's favorite! I am still craving The Cheesecake Factory's double chocolate cheesecake. I even went to the same plaza where it is and did not go in! I was so proud of myself! If I had only passed up the Eggnog ice cream/shake the other day. Well, I was driving from Ann Arbor back to West Michigan and was alone. It did pep me up!

Going to finish the pie, and walk the dog! Got to get some fast walking in. My legs are feeling the neglect from the last week of not going as often as usual!

Great losses to all, and Happy The Week Before Christmas!!

Wendy

Hi Wendy

I have three stops to make after school today and I think that I am finished shopping. I didn't do my cards so that will be tonight's job. I did help my friend with a drop for the play. Talk about heavy. We sewed 7 panels 7 yards long together. Try moving it.

I also have learned to enjoy the piece and quiet of an empty house. Congrats on almost being done shopping. I know that the wrapping is a pain but at least you can watch tv or listen to music while doing it.

Yes sometimes you can enjoy somehting like a shake especially when you are driving by yourself or for a long period of time. I enjoy Starbuck's iced chai latte when I am doing a long drive. It does keep me awake and I reallly need it sometimes.

Have a crazy day and I hope everyone gets a lot done today.

Hi All,
Sounds like you're doing well dealing with the holiday craziness. I got back from WDW a few days ago and the big news is, I managed to hold weight steady. I guess the walking balanced out the desserts. Yay. Now to bolster the willpower to resist holiday treats the next couple of weeks...

:grouphug:

WOW! I went out of town for the weekend and am soooo happy to have so much reading to catch up on here!! Glad to see everybody!! :yay:

Okay, I am proud to announce that I have entered the hallowed halls of the 150's!! I had a woosh this week 3 pounds! So I am at 157. :cool1: This is so unbelievable! I wanted to reach 150 by Christmas Day and I maybe able to be close!! :cheer2:

Michelle, bummer on the surgery date. :sad2: But you are gonna start the New Year a healthier you! Good luck! :wizard: And I echo thanks to you and your husband for the duty you are doing our country. I am grateful to the spouses just as the service person and I pray for your family.

Dona, hope you got all your tasks accomplished! :sunny: Yay, on getting the wrapping done I hate, hate, hate wrapping presents!

Wendy, wow what great will power resisting that cheesecake my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Coaster, welcome back from the world and great job on not gaining. I am always amazed when I come back without an increase!!

Hope everyone has a productive week and gets all those last minute things taken care of! Remember to be good to yourself! :cheer2: :grouphug:

Coaster Congrats on maintaining while at the world.

Congrats Melissa on getting into the 150's.

Congrats Melissa, I hope you feel great about yourself!!!

Coaster, I hope I don't gain any weight back the next time I go to WDW. I'm glad to see you did it, now I know it can be done.

We just got back from the hospital, DH had his wisdom teeth out today. He looks horrible and I feel so bad for him. The men are just babies when they feel under the weather. He is still sleeping off the sedative with chipmunk cheeks, poor thing.

Christmas is getting closer and I'm almost done shopping. I need one more gift card, problem is I have to go to the Mall to get it. I must be  Hope you all have a good day!

A quick "Hi" to everyone!

Michelle -- I hope your surgery goes well, and your recovery is speedy!

Melissa -- Congratulations!

CoasterAddict -- Great job! I hope you got to enjoy all your favorites at WDW!

Dona -- I hope you are enjoying your busyness!

Wendy -- Holidays do get better with time. Christmas 2003 was our first without my mother, and the sadness does dissipate. It's never going to be the same, but it can still be happy.

Tara -- Keep going, you are going to lead us to the 150s!

I've been following a training plan from Marathoning for Dummies for the past week. I'm so proud of myself for completing the first week, even though I had to get up early a few days to make it happen. I've started on week 2, and I'm getting excited about being able to do the Disney Half in 2008. I've improved so much since I first started walking/jogging a few years ago. Even with stops and starts, I've gone from over 16 minute miles to 11. By following this plan I'm hoping to avoid injuries. My eating is nothing to be proud of. Right now I'm focusing on the workouts, and in January, I'm going to do better with the You diet. I'm on it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I've been also having cookies, fudge, butterscotch bars, etc.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for hanging in there..and for those of you that are doing well, Congratulations! Please keep inspiring us!

Maria

Well, tomorrow is my surgery and I am scared! I've never been completely out for a procedure. I hope all goes well and I'll be home by the afternoon.

On topic again, I am 188 this morning, that's down from 190. I have been maintaing pretty well for the Holidays. After DH goes to Korea, I need to work on losing again. It'll give me something to be accountable for while he is gone. It seems to make the time go faster. I hope you are all doing great too.

If I'm not back on before Monday, Merry Christmas!!

Michelle We are all wishing you the best for your surgery and Merry Christmas

Michelle -- I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Here's wishing everyone who celebrates Christmas, Hannukah (I know, in progress), Kwanzaa, Yule and Solstice (just passed!) a happy and magical :wizard: holiday!

Many wishes for celebrations galore!

We will be enjoying the WDW Christmas Parade, last year we were pre-empted by a football show and we really missed it! :santa:
