150 Club...care to join???

Hi Billmel.. of course you can join us. We are the place to come for support and ideas of what is working and what may not.


kathy, I hope you added all those minutes to the exercise challange. I hope we don't get that stuff.

Well had a session with the personal trainer. The legs were like jello again, but I gotta say, I haven't had a repeat of an exercise yet, which I like because I'm able to learn something new to do on my own. Today I did walking lunges again, but this time I was holding a weighted ball and turing to either side depending on what leg was foward. So if the right leg was foward, I twisted to the left. I wish I wasn't so afraid of stepping on a scale, but I'm not sure I want to see that my weight has stayed the same. My size 16's are looser all around however, so that is a good sign.

At the gym, we are starting a challange called Melt Away the pounds, the weigh in for it is the 28th, the goal is to accumulate lots of points based on weight loss and exercise, and the top three teams in the club get something. I'm not sure what yet. Maybe a free trip to DISNEY!!!

ok gotta go the yoga class is getting ready to start and I gotta get home, my oldest DD is babysitting since DH is on active duty for this week.
 
Good Morning

Here in nj it is cloudy and starting to rain. Of course it got harder when we were out on a bomb scare. We were out in the rain for almost 30 minutes. Now I have to deal with all the dim witted dodos who were supposed to report to me. Well some of them did and then left my area. I am so mad it just adds to my day.

I have not been in a good mood today. I have been at the same weight since NOv and I would like to see the numbers go down. I have been counting calories and working out but it is not budging. I know that I have lost some inches but 3 months is too long to be at the same weight. I gave myself 2 minutes to cry and said that was it. Keep on trucking and trying to move down.

Have to go now. It is very quiet here on this site. Where is everyone?
 
Welcome Billmel! So glad to have you with us! AND WAHOO on losing 12 pounds since 1/6!!! That is an AWESOME PACE!!!! Keep up the great work you'll be in 230's in no time! 150's really aren't that far away when you look at it in increments of ten...! :)

Hey guys! I'm hoping to get the clippie thing worked out this weekend...the past three days I've been on the couch laid out! No not just enjoying my shows...my back went out like the dickens...remind me not to help a 4 year old try and rollerskate! My body just closed down on me and I'm feeling much better now but perfect excuse to eat junk when you can't get up and fix anything...so lunchables were my staple for 2 days.

Will catch up on everyone when I get moving a bit more! Should be able to walk again in a few days (meaning my big walk...I'm moving around more now!)

Losing is our goal...sharing is a great benefit!

Tara so sorry to hear that you are layed up. HOpefully the pain will ease and you can get moving a little more.

It has b een pretty quiet here. I wonder where everyone is hanging out?

It is cold and cloudy here in Jersey. I don't have anything to do today but have to work on costumes for my son's school show tomorrow. I will probably ther all day since the show is in less than 2 weeks. So much to do. I am in charge of the moms who finish the costumes for the costume/set designer (yes we have one. YOu would not b elieve the money that they spend at this high school). My only problem now is that all of the moms can only hand sew and most only want to sew simple things like buttons, so I am going to be very busy during the next week.

donac!!! I think you should CHEER That you're the same weight since November!!! That means you KNOW how to maintain..which is critical when we get to the 150's! :) I've gained 12 pounds since November!!! It's horrible! But I know I can do it and with my back healing I can master these last 40 pounds by Fall...we can all get there....y'all are great for motivating each other so let that soak up into your own skin and be energized to make the right choices!!!

I'm going to low carb it awhile...all these holidays over the past few months have put me in a sugar zone I don't need to be in. 10 days of low carbing should help curb that for me. By then I should be able to walk well again.

How's the weekend treating everyone????

Hey guys. Things have been so extremely busy lately.

No WI yesterday because I had a Solo and Ensemble Showcase (which I received an Excellent rating for :thumbsup2 ) Two games this weekend, Varsity kicked butt but JV didn't do so well...and maybe babysitting...

HI all,

WEll it seems that were pretty quiet over the weekend. I think it must just be that it is too stinking cold to do anything. This stuff has to go, because I am cold down to my bones. And I gave up the cappacino's from the local WAWA (these are stores like 7-11 for those of you who don't live in PA or NJ). Anyway, I'm thinking, Oh heck I know that these are a big reason, while the scale has not been dropping. I figured if I can stand my ground against those Girl Scout cookies than I can get through without a fat ladened coffee. So today is the first day, which has been good, however I'm sure tomorrow will be harder when the lack of caffiene kicks in. I'll just have to have a couple of motrins on hand.

Got in a pilates class this morning. Since school is out, Ellissa #1 DD babysat for me. I'll have personal training tomorrow. I have noticed a difference in the way my pants are fitting. Even the 16's are loose in the thighs and the behind. Now if I can only loose the belly fat, I'd be happier. I know it will take time, and with the pilates class, I can tell that my abs need alot of work.

We have had sickness traveling through this house, so needless to say everyone is sooooo happy to be home today. I just wish they would all stay in bed and rest instead of wanting to go outside and run around. When they come in , they starting coughing and coughing. I wonder if that airborne stuff really works.

Ok gotta go, Mickaellya just woke up from a nap. and believe me she needed it, she was really crabby.
 
This weekend was a horrible eating weekend...and a semi-bad weekend, too.

For one reason only. Grandpa had to go into the hospital...again. We don't know what's wrong with him either only that he's not been acting like himself.. I've been trying to "behave myself" food wise through this but it's just a lot on all of us...

hope everyone had a kick butt weekend!
 
Hi!

Did we all survive the holiday?! I have not been in a good place mentally. I just ate a bunch of junk, and that's the polite way of putting it. As the refrain from my ds's favorite Disney movie of the week goes, I have to get my head in the game!

I plan to spend 45 minutes on the TM today. I'm not sure if I'll be jogging or walking, but I will be there! Thursday I'm doing my long walk again. The movie I have on the way is Garden State. I like Zach Braff, so hopefully I'll like his movie, too.

DS is on school vacation this week, so that throws us off a little. Yesterday we took him to Disney on Ice the Incredibles. He had a huge smile on his face throughout the whole show. Today and tomorrow he is going to day camp, and Thursday and Friday he's going to NH to visit grandparents.

My sil and 3dn stayed over Saturday night and caught a very early flight Sunday morning to Jamaica. I am a bit envious, I would love to be somewhere warm and sunny right now. They went to an all-inclusive resort, which also sounds like a little bit of heaven, if it wasn't in Jamaica. We stopped there on a cruise a few years ago, and I see no need to go back.

So, I'm going to work hard on getting back on track. Lent is right around the corner, and I'm going to use that to give up all the junk. Yep, all the junk. That means one piece of good chocolate per day -- no m&ms, Hershey kisses, goldfish, twizzlers, etc. for snacks. Fruit, light popcorn, veggies, and Kashi bars only. We also give up fast food. Not that we eat that much of it, but I do have too many french fries.

Jen -- I hope you are able to quickly determine how to help your Grandpa, and he recovers well. Hang in there, I know it's hard! :goodvibes

Tracy -- It's going to sound nuts, but I almost wish I would be sick for a few days so I could more easily clamp down on the eating and force myself to get back on track. See, I told you it would sound nuts! :crazy2:

Tara -- How is your back and how is the low carbing coming? I think you are off to a great start! :cheer2:

Dona -- How is the sewing? I am one of those moms who only does buttons. :blush: Good luck!

KathyT -- I hope your weather has improved considerably! We're starting to thaw a little, so that's a big improvement. :sunny:

Good Monday everyone.

I spent from 10 to 7 fitting and sewing costumes this past Sunday and there is still a great deal to be done. I will be there all day this Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is the first dress rehersal so we will watch and see what needs to be done. who we forgot and what hem we forgot to do. I will be spending all my evenings there next week. The first performance (our final rdress rehersal) is in front of senior citizens and scout troops(although I don't know how many scout troops will be coming since it really isn't a family show) is a week from this Thursday. I know everything will get done but it seems like a lot right now and thte costume guys says that that he still has to finish a few more things that we just found out about on Sunday.

Tara - Good luck low carbing it. I don't know if I could do that. I love bread and pasta too much, although lately I haven't eaten much pasta I have been using spaghetti squash instead. It tastes a little different but nothing I can't handle. DOn't bee too hard on yourself about your weight. Back pain can be very difficult to deal with. I know how hard it is to exercise when something hurts and they can't figure out what is wrong or even if you can figure ut what is wrong. Your main job right now is getting your back in order with pt and rest. Exercise can come later. The time I was in pt I could not even think about exercising.

Maria - good luck on the healthy eating. I have been doing it for a few weeks and it is getting easier.

Billmel - WELCOME

Jen - How is the play going or did I miss that you had it?

Tracy - I had to give up all caffeine a few weeks about because it cause some extra heart beats even when I was on medication. The most that I am willing to try is 2 chocolate chips a day. Nothing more. Very little soda and almost no chocolate :sad: You can do it. This is also getting easier every day.

The play is going. Lots of rehearsals and fittings for costumes and dances and songs...

Life however seems to be going in a popping and lurching kind of direction.

Water is good; exercise is good! Tourneys are fast approaching!! Cheerleading tomorrow and mucho busy schedule.

Morning All!!

MIA - that is me!!! :cool1: :teeth: I have been lurking for the last 10 days or so but have not had the time to sit and connect with the group.

Right now I am holding down 3 part time jobs and they are taking me to the max!! :eek: Subbing 5 days a week - working at the dog trainers 2 evenings a week and spending the weekends typing for my girlfriend. :crazy2: :crazy2:

Needless to say the focus has NOT been on me and I am still stuck around 172...........Goal being to refocus and get back on track as of TODAY!!

Jen - When is your play? My dd18 and her high school are performing CATS (first high school in Illinois to attempt this musical) beginning of March. She has been living at the school. Good luck with all.

Donac - you sound busy busy busy!! If I missed this posting I am sorry - what show is your child's school performing? I admire those that can sew. I belong in the simple button sewing group.........but I have made Halloween costumes in the past :) Try not to let the sewing take over your life and make good food choices!!

Tara - you are my hero!! I don't have the courage to give up the pasta - yummmmmmmm love those carbs......let us know how you are doing.

Maria - did you make it to the TM? How often does your son have a week off? Is this considered spring break?


Schatz - how is the family doing? done with sickness? So hard to stay focused when little ones are not feeling well. How is the personal trainer doing? You are going to look soooooooooo trim :banana: :banana:

Kathy and Kathy T - How is it going? Let's keep moving and losing!!

Kathy - finally got my taxes together and DH is going tomorrow to the accountant. WOW - you have such patience to deal with all those numbers......I could never do that!! :worship:

Cody - Now my 10 month old puppy is demanding attention - HA so what else is new........off to see what he wants.

Hi Wow I just found this thread and I really wish I found it sooner. I hope its not too late to join the 150 club that you ladies have. I am 39 years old and have set an incredible goal for myself. I just booked a vacation for Jan 2007 because that is when I will be turning 40 and I have been telling myself I have to weigh 150 lbs by then which gives me a year to lose 120 lbs. I am having so much trouble getting started. But I just spent the morning reading all of your posts and it will help me. You have all done a great job and hopefully this will give me the encouragement that I have needed. My family is all skinny and don't really get it. My 3 kids (18, 17 & 13) are all athletes so can't relate. But I am ready to stop feeling sorry for myself and ready to be accountable and change my life. Thanks :cheer2:

Cats sound impressive. Not a lot of costume changes but the set I bet is wild. My son is starting to live at the school also and he is only crew. We are doing Evita. Not a musical a lot of schools do. There are over 200 costumes in the show. Before I do an entire day at the school I usually get my exercise and then I make sure that I pack healthy snacks and drink plenty of water through out the day. I am one of the few calm ones since I can't rely on caffeine. The next two weeks will be very busy because we open on March 1st. We also go through the 11th. The show will do a benefit performance on March 25th but I am not going to that. I will not spend $100 for a ticket besides I am going into New York to see Menopause the Musical with some girlfriends.

Welcome to our little part of the world Tink4ever. You have come to the right place and I too am glad you found us.

So my question for the day is, why won't the scale move? AARRRGGGHHH. If it doesn't move by next week, something drastic has to be done. What that might be I don't know. I'm thinking the giving up the Cappucino is pretty drastic. I'm hoping that by next week, with a full week away from it, the scale will go down. The personal training has been hard but great. I did 45 minutes last evening with her than an hour of pilates class. Tomorrow I have another session at 5:00am with her, I am definetly noticing the changes, but I still need that scale to go down. My pants fit better and I'm starting to see defination in my arms. So I know that the jello like thighs are paying off,

The colds are still making their way around my house, but I'm that by the weekend they will be gone. We are to the runny nose point.

I need to close for now, I have to get some computer work done for my Travel Agent course I'm taking, and Mickaellya's sleeping right now, so I gotta take advantage of the quiet.

Hey gang!!! They're HERE!!! The 150's Clippies!


There are two to choose from...a glittery one and one without the glitter but still with all the flourish! :) You are limited to how much storage space you can use up on your clippies...so if you already have some high value ones then stick with the non-glittery one...I like the glitter so I am using it with my ticker...remember the WISH clippie for weight loss does not count toward your total...I'll put them on the first page as well so newbies can find them...let me know if you have any trouble posting them in! :)

I'd most definitely like to join this club - I haven't had to time to catch up on posts... but have situated my tickers to act as a sort of countdown race to November! I love the glitter 150 image - I'm a newbie, so I'll be following that route to check into getting that - thanks!!

Hey all!

Tips for putting in image...there may be an easier way but here's what works for me...

Right click on the 150's club clippie you like...at the bottom of the right click box that appears should have the word PROPERTIES...click on that and it will give you the http:/ url address...I just highlight it and copy it...then I go to my User CP and put edit signature...I click on the little mountain image thing and paste the address in there and save....it should work! :)
