The Homecoming dance was last night! It was fun and I didn't snack or drink at all!!!! I was so proud of myself! I really dance-danced. I got some slow dances with boys (who were much nicer that that jerk before) and some dances with my friends! It was fabulous. I wore a nice pair of black pants, a tee/tank shirt, and a really cool button down shirt over it. I didn't wear makeup (because I don't usually)!

All that work must have paid off because now I'm at 180! Even with TOM here today! 1 pound down!

food: don't know exactly what all I had yesterday (I had to help set up for homecoming and cheerleading!)

Plus, I'm babysitting for a new set of clients tonight from 5-11:00 pm my time. They are two little girls (4 and 7, respectively) and their brother (who probably won't be there). I have a feeling they may be the Brat Kids of 06 so this may not be permanent. I've seen them and talked to them before at some of my brother's baseball games.

And I may babysit for another (old-hat) client tomorrow! All the same...the money goes to my Disney savings!

Hi All,

Well TOM is here and I'm up 4 pounds. How depressing is that. And to top it off, I have been sticking to no snacking, and closing the kitchen and arrgghh. Boy am I mad.

Of good note. I got some work out tips with weights the other night at the gym, so I'm going to incorporate them. I hoping that helps, I wonder If I am not eating enough. I'm trying to eat every 3 hours, drink the water, which has been very easy but still the numbers are not moving.

Ok so today is an absolute crazy day. I have to have DD Taylor to her game to cheer at 10:30, but first I have to stop at Payless to see if I can find DD Mickaellya a pair of sneaks to wear. DD Ellissa will babysit everyone until we get back from the game. Than when we get back, I have to pick up all the kids, take DS Christopher to a birthday party that starts at 12:45, than take DD Ellissa to her game which starts at 1:00 but she is supposed to be there at 12:30. She is going to be late. Than after the game we have to pick DS Christopher up, drive and hour to pick up DH who is at reserves this weekend, so that we can get back here to go to mass. The gas companies are going to love me today. I swear he is in the reserves, just to get away from it all sometimes.

Anndddd, I am wondering if my DD Taylor has ADD or something along those lines. She has the attention span of a knat, is hating everyone one minute and than the next can be as nice as pie, to the same person she just went off on. She is very easily annoyed by the tinest of things. She has a well check at the end of March, so I think I'll talk to the doctor than. And the issue with the attention span is hurting her grades in school. I think.

Ok, off to the game

Thanks for letting me vent

Linda

Linda-I will post a picture. Meanwhile, I have to dig my camera out of my cheerleading bag and upload photos...

Yesterday was semi-okay. I had to kidsit for a new family from 5-11 with some Brat tendencies. I don't think I'll be taking a summer job there. Plus, I may have a bit of "something"...like a tummy problem...from the food I ate.

B: 4 cinnamon pancakes
L: pasta with tuna
D at new client's house: pepperoni hot pocket (all but like 4 bites), Super Mac n Cheese (which I didn't like but ate anyway because the girls said I put too much milk in!)
S: water

They were offering me chips, candies, soda...and I stayed unbelievably strong! I did it!

Okay-and now what you've all been waiting for: my picture. This is me, in front of a door. I am: running extremely late for the game, no makeup on, hair back in a ponytail, in my dress clothes, and somewhat grimy...
183_8326.jpg

Hope you like!

Jen!!! You are BEAUTIFUL!!! :sunny: I think you look great without makeup...all that working out and good eating has given you a great complexion! :) Glad to hear the dance went well....there are some really good guys out there...I had a tough time in my senior high school years (I gained alot my 10th grade year due to stress at home) but I stayed busy with lots of activities....then I went to college and all that walking (no car for me!) got 90 pounds off in 9 months!!! I wasn't even trying! I went from a size 20 to a size 4-6! But I found that meant I had a harder time figuring out the good guys from the scumbags...I got a lot more attention at the lower size but the guys that were golden would have given me that attention at any size. You'll be wise and when you reach goal you'll have that wisdom to help you weed out the superficial ones. And I'm not picking on boys...girls can be just as bad! Your true friends are golden nuggets on the path of life! :)

Linda!!! Come on we've got to get that scale moving!!! I'm weighing in tomorrow...need to be really good and get some water in me! :) Still painting my house...hopefully will finish room 2 today and then go to sewing.

Tracy!! With that schedule it's got to lead you to lower numbers!! Whew! I'm tired just thinking of where you're headed today! Choose those foods wisely...I've been horrible...had french fries atleast 3x this week and they're BANNED for 100 days...ugh.

Debra...the loose skin does get better. I think you would be much happier with your body if you exercise....yes I said it exercise..oops there it is again....exercise See it's not so bad when you write it! :) Only because I've been there can I share my experience...after losing 90 pounds in college I was 130 at 5'8...sometimes I dipped in the 20's....I really looked bad...I didn't see it...now when I see pictures I see how gaunt my face was and collarbones out to the moon. But I joined Golds Gym and worked out on nautilus and started riding a touring bike everywhere...At 138 I had the most amazing physique even with all the extra skin...if I find a picture I'll send the two to compare. I stayed at the same pants size at 138 as 130 but my face just had a glow and I looked fit not waifish. So just buying a set of 5 pound hand weights and using resistance training at home you can really see a change! I think you'd love pilates....stick with something for 6 weeks and I guarantee you that you'll feel stronger and healthier than ever!!! :)

Now that I've nagged you I need to take my own advice and get out there walking my 4 miles!!! I did do some strength training yesterday so that was good.

OFf to fix a small bowl of cheerios...planning a good day of eating!!! :)

TO ALL THE 150'ers!!! Let's make the shortest month of the year the biggest month so far for moving that scale!!!! :)

Tara

Jen! That is a BEAUTIFUL picture! Wow! You look so great!

Tara: I know you are right.....I just can't seem to get myself going. I have a treadmill and I should use it.....UGH! I hate exercise!

Linda: IT IS COLD!!!!!! How is it up your way?

Gotta go get ready for the day!
Debra

It's cold and snowy snowy snowy here too! :cold: I dislike snow with the burning passion of a million flames ON FIRE! :rotfl:

I think I didn't mention this, but I danced with some people my age...and I danced with some seniors and a junior (bear in mind, we are a small school and everyone knows everyone!) Some mentioned about how good a cheerleader I was. It was nice to hear compliments about me because I'm usually the one giving them! I was like this :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes ALL night long!

Tara-I usually don't wear makeup either. It makes my skin itch, and it'll wear off a couple hours later because I'm always itching at it! Thanks. I think I'm discovering who the golden nuggets are, who the fool's gold is, and who are diamonds in the rough! Thanks for the compliments!

Debra-Thanks! Did you guys get any snow?

Oh! Wait!
Breakfast: 2 slices of ham-ham (not the deli kind), 2 slices of toast, and water.

Good morning everyone.

I agree with Tara exercise, especially with weight and resistance will help to tone you up and geve you more lean muscle. Even though I know I need to do some strength trainng, it is easier to do the cardio. I have a TM and bike at home which me to watch TV while exercising. My trainier put me on a low weight - high rep circuit at the gym, but that means leaving the house to go to the gym on Tues, Thurs or Fri, and Sun. It gets hard trying to juggle everything with only 1 day per week off (and sometimes none) now.

Jen - you look great. Keep up the effort you have been putting in and you will accomplish your goal to a healthier you. You have already made a good start and are much healthier than your were a year ago.

I have managed to keep up with the exercising but have still not managed to lose the weight I want to. Everyone keep telling me MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT. I get kind of sick of hearing that. You would also think the muscle would help burn the excess fat.

Even after meeting with the nutritionist, I am still struggling with food choices. She has me using the diabetic food exhange system and I have a hard time co-ordinating tthe exchange I should be eating with what I really eat. I have tried to put together a menu but that goes out the window when I get home later than planned and just fix the fastest thing I can find. By tracking my food on SparkPeople.com, I find my diet is too high in fats, not necessarily sat fat, but all fats. I also seem to be eating a very high sodium diet (wonderful for my blod pressure). I am trying to find a happym medium between what I should eat and what I really eat.

Debra - start out with 10 - 15 min on the TM 2-3 times per day. If you can, put a TV in front of it and use it during a time you would be watching TV anyway. Another way to get some exercise is to use some weight (cans of soup will work) and do bicep curls, tricep kick backs, bent over rows or squats during commercials. If you have an exercise ball, sitting on it without wobbling is strengthening your core. Try joining one of teh monthly exercise challenges. You determine how many minutes you want to shoot for. I finally met my first challenge for January.

Linda - where are you? How is your weekend going? Try an get some exercise in.

The cold weather is supposed to arrive today. We are supposed to get snow from the cold front moving in from the Ohio Valley. After that move thru tonight, we are supposed to get lake effect snow of from lake Ontario until Wed. I appears winter may finally be arrving. Jan turned out to be one of the warmest on record. Feb didn't start out too bad with temps around 50 for Fri and yesterday.

Need to get some house work done and start drinking my water.

Have a great day.

Hi Ladies!

I actually did return from Las Vegas, I've just been very slow at putting my life back together!

I skimmed a few pages and got a peep at Jen -- You are a lovely young lady, with a very bright future!

I've been weaning myself back onto the TM and eating right. It's been slow, but I'm putting it in high gear this week. TOM was really working on me last week, but I'm kicking him to to curb and getting with the program!

Kathy -- Keep drinking that water and making good food choices. One of my goals this month is to drink 1 gallon of water before I touch diet soda. The soda on our shelf isn't moving, but we can barely keep the water filled!

Jen -- I'm so glad you had a great time at your dance! You are doing great!

Debra -- There's a reason no GS cookies are entering my house this year. I eat Thin Mints by the sleeve. There's nothing thin about me with those around!

Linda -- I try to follow the WW plan, even though I'm not attending meetings. On the days I stick to my points, I admit I am much happier with my results.

Tara -- How's that painting coming? I think I am the anti-decorator. If there is a gene, I certainly don't have it.

Kathy T -- I hope you and yours are well soon!

Tracy -- It sounds like you had one rough day. I hope today was better for you!

Dona -- Good job getting on the treadmill! It really is half the battle. You have also inspired me. As soon as dh finishes his nap this afternoon, I think I am treadmill bound, even if it's for a walk!

You guys are awesome. Thanks so much for all the encouragement I get here. I'm going to hope I have better luck posting this week, because I do better with this wonderful community!

Maria

Hola amigos! I just got home from kidsitting with $10 in the ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo fund!

Lunch was there: bologna sandwich with mustard, apple, carrots, a pretzel stick. Not too bad... :thumbsup2
I also got about 36 ounces of water in.

Good Morning and Happy Monday!! ;)

Sending cold weather to all parts east of Chicago :cold:

Started WW Online over the weekend using the CORE plan. So far so good. Wasn't too hard to follow - hope the rest of the week is just as easy.

Got on the scale this morning and saw 171 :woohoo: Something I haven't seen in weeks. Really focusing on the 160s........except for exercise I AM NOT AN EXERCISE PERSON (Hello Debra:):) - there I said it. Have to find ways to motivate me

Jen - Love your picture - you have so much natural beauty that you don't need makeup :cloud9: Glad you have more money for the ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo fund.

Maria - Glad you are back from Vegas and kicking it into high gear :yay: Send some inspiration for moving and losing this way. :rotfl:

Kathy - How did your weekend go? Were you able to get your water in? When you get home later than expected take a deep breath and grab a piece of fruit or some carrots while you figure out what you are having for dinner. How about making a flexible menu for the week where you plan out the meals but know that you can swap days depending on your schedule. Would that help?

Tara- How did the painting go? Our walls have been off white for decades because my DH and I can never agree on colors......I had to get a man who cares what color the wall is :upsidedow

Debra - As much as I don't want to say this..........EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE!!! There has to be something that both of us would be interested in trying. Beside walking I am trying to rearrange my schedule to go back to yoga.......loved how I felt taking those classes. Come ON WE CAN DO THIS!! :cheer2:

Kathy T, Dona, Tracy - how was your weekend. Let's hear from you!!

Off to get ready for work - one more week in the preschool special needs room........like the kids not overly happy with the childish antics of the staff. Ready to moooooooooove on. :rolleyes1

Have a Magical Disney Day
Linda

Kathy! I have a feeling you'll be able to handle this tax season better than any other....look at what you've accomplished this year!!! All that walking has built stamina and energy!!!! And I haven't heard you mention that take 5 bar in a loooong time! :) Tax season...she's READY FOR YOU! :)

We were oh so glad to get our taxes done last week...thank goodness! Dh does all that...all I have to do is gather the mail that's pertinent and put them in a little box...don't know what I'd do without him!

Debra...you can do it you can do it...look even the new smilies are doing exercise! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Jen!! So glad you had an awesome dance..you so deserved a great night out! What's the going rate for babysitters? We have one about once a year and never know what to pay...they never give us an amount! They just tell us whatever you want to pay! I've been paying $6 for 3 kids plus I'll round it up to the nearest five to make it easier...please share what the going rate is! :)

Linda!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: 171 is an awesome weigh in!!! I am going to do some flips when you see 169!!! And you will NEVER EVER see the 170's AGAIN!!!! :)

Okay, tootsie pop challenge for me and anyone else who wants to take it on...how many licks to the tootsie pop? Well, I'm putting a spin on it and saying "HOW MANY DAYS till GOAL?" Today is Day one!!! I'm going to go ahead and jump on the scale...didn't want to ...but I need to know where I started at...even after yesterday's superbowl eating...I can do this....

DAY ONE!!! I'm guessing it will take me 175 days....it will be great to beat that but here goes....1/175....pounds lost (0) because it's starting day! :) Next week I'll up date it! :)

Let's get to goal!!!!

Tara

Hi All,

well I survived Sat. Boy I hate when it rains and I have all the kids in and out of the car. Inevitably, the three that sit all the way in the back, gotta find something to argue about. Thus making everyone else stay out in the rain. Than you have DD Caitlynne (3) who knows it all and won't ask for help getting buckled up, so she is just causing everyone stress.

Sunday was good. DH had reserves so we didn't have the pressures of a party, so I was able to stick with good food choices and closed the kitchen at 8. Got the water in, but I'm just not feeling motivated. I'm sure it all has to do with TOM who won't be outta here for a couple of days yet. My motivation to exercise went south. I'll be at the gym tomorrow for a couple of hours and a new pilates class is starting, so I am really looking foward to that. Hopefully that will just be my kickstart.

Tara, I'm liking the idea of guessing how long it will take to reach goal. So my question is this, how did you come about that number. I would like to be at 130. At this point that is 60 lbs. I guess I will say 180 days. That's 1 pound lost every 3 days. I'll give it a shot. 0/180.

I think part of the problem last week was chinese food. I had it twice last week. Thank I borrowed a friends WW book with all the points in it. OH Boy was that UGLY. I think the next time one of my kids say's they want chinese, I'll have to put the kabosh to it.

Anyway, Let's get loosing

Good Morning!

It sounds like we're all excited and ready to move! Woohoo! We're on our way! :tink:

Today's eating plan:

B: oatmeal w/raisins
L: ff tuna salad w/crackers, 100 cal Ritz
S: 2 clementines
D: chili
S: tea and 100 cal Sandies

Exercise: 45 min. jog on the treadmill

I'm going to get back on the scale and face the music soon. I'm just not ready to go there yet. Every day I get a little closer. After 3-4 days of doing what I'm supposed to, I think I'll find the courage. :scared:

Tracy -- Chinese food is my downfall! I love it, but I try not to have it too often. Of course, the things I love (spring rolls, crab rangoon) are like the worst things you can eat. If I would stick to steamed veggies, that would probably be o.k.... :dog: (Year of the Dog!)

Tara -- This is probably regional. We pay $10/hr. for one child, and typically throw in a $10 bonus at the end of the night (this is often because we usually have her for 5 hours, and it's easy not to make change). My sitter is also 17, and has a part-time job. The local fast food places pay $7/hour... :upsidedow

Linda -- I am so proud of you for getting to 171! I know you have been working really hard, and I'm so glad the scale moved. You are going to be in the 160s before you know it. I promise, I am going to get there, too! :yoda:

Jen -- Glad to hear your ::MickeyMo :earsgirl: fund is growing! :tigger:

Kathy -- Here's some advice I can't remember to use. Are you measuring yourself to see if you are getting smaller? If you are losing inches, your body is adjusting and you will eventually see weight loss. I know it is very hard to have patience when you are stuck at the same weight. But if the inches are coming off, everything you're doing is working! :donald:

Well, I'd better get to that breakfast. We are all going to have a fabulous week, I just feel it! Post TOM, I feel like I can take on the entire Empire :chewy:

Smiles, Everyone, Smiles!
Maria

Just a short note to say hi to all my Dis friends. This is a crazy week and I don't have any time. My math team has a home meet today so I had to get stuff this morning for the advisors who are coming to the school and an ice cream party for my team before the meet. Grades are due Wed and I am no where near done (I was home last night doing them instead of going to a Super Bowl party, which meant that I didn't have to worry about food choices. ). Then to top off everything else I have a presentation due on Wed afternoon at a workshop for the math teachers at the high schools in my district. The only good thing about that is that I did all the work last month for a longer workshop and I will just pick and choose from that. More than enough material for 2 hours.

Will be back when I come out from under all the paperwork

Ouch...I need this so much! I am 128lbs away from the 150 club!! I haven't been there for about 12 years but I am so ready to get back. The closest was about 7-8 years ago when I was only about 15-20 lbs away. I guess baby steps, 250 club first and then 200 club. Hopefully in a year or so I will be able to shoot for the 150s!

Welcome from Sickness House! I have a sick. My brother is sick. We are all so sicky icky icky.

B: toast
L: fries and pears
D; grapes, chicken noodle soup, crackers

Keeping hydrated...or attempting to anyway...

Going rate here is about $3 an hour...

Gotta go...I feel woozy...

Hi all,

Well I have some really sad, terrible news to report. My Disney trip in May is Off. I am in a serious funk. DH and I sat down, and had to reconsider due to the recent lack of work. The work situation doesn't look like it is going to get any better until sometime in April. So, I am going to try and pull myself up, and look foward to the Oct trip that the government is giving to Dave. I WILL be at WDW for that one. I had better start ebaying. I am also going to keep my Jan 07 trip that is planned for Catholic Schools week. I know that in the big realm of things my small detour in life is nothing, so I will quit *****ing now.

My kids were talking about Chinese food last night again, I put my foot down, and said no more chinese until your mother is 70 lbs lighter. What are the odds of that happening. Slim I'm sure.

Ok I have no words of wisdom to pass on this AM, I'll post when I'm in a better mood. Thanks for listening

Good Morning!!! :sunny: :cool1:

THE SCALE IS PLAYING GAMES WITH MY MIND!!!! 170.5LBS :thumbsup2 :woohoo: So close to 160s and yet so so so far......Need to keep moving!! :moped: :moped:

Schatz - :wizard: :wizard: pixiedust: pixiedust: I am soooooo sorry about the cancellation of your trip. :sad2: Look at it this way at least you and DH were realistic enough to acknowledge that it would put too much of a strain on your finances. GOOD FOR YOU!!! NOT DIGGING A FINANCIAL HOLE FOR YOURSELF :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Focus your energies on the next trip knowing you will be slimmer and trimmer   How about a reward of Chinese after hmmmmmmm lets say a 15 lb loss.........Chinese does me in each and every time. Hang in there!! Better days are coming!! :grouphug:

Jen - Hope you and your family are feeling better :wizard:

Jim and meesie - WELCOME!! :welcome: :welcome: You have come to the right place for support and laughter.

Donac - glad you could stop by. How did the math meet go?

Maria - How did it go yesterday? Better day?

4 more days and 3 more outdoor lunch recess duties :cold: :cold: :cold: until I am done with this assignment!!! :woohoo:

It is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing here!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
