Yes, I know I have been away for a long time, but still working towards 150. I can't guarantee how often I will be able to post, but I think I could use some encouragement from time to time.

I lost 42 lbs last year which is by far the most I had lost in a long time. Right before the holidays things became hectic and I put on a few more. Although for the most part I am maintaining and not just gaining with no end in sight. I left me ticker the same hoping that I could get back to it quickly, but I think that I really need to change it to reflect the gain and start over.

Water has been horrible and I have been doing alot of stress eating lately. We are opening a new store at the end of the month and it has created a lot of stress for me. Not between myself and DH, but just trying to think of all the details, trying to get things done on time, and all the extra work that a new project entails. Needless to say, I think I have been keeping Cheetos in business. Even when I start out good for the day, it doesn't seem to last since I am running so much back and forth that half the time I really never know where or when I am going to eat. To top it off, I have not been getting enough rest with trying to take care of the current business, home, and the new business. I know that this will change as soon as we open, but for now the lack of sleep is really hindering weight loss.

Not complaining, that is just the way things have been right now and where I am at.

So, I am still striving for the 150's this year. Like I said, I don't know how often I will be by, but just wanted to let you know that I am still around.

Everyone have a wonderful day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Breakfast: 2 pancakes and a tablespoon of syrup. And guess what?! My dad had a Mickey pancake. I was so mad...

12 ounces of water!

It's Friday, here's to a losing weekend!

Hi Ladies!

I did my long walk yesterday, 6.747 miles in 112 minutes. I'm trying to do one of these a week. I'm not sore today, so that's good news. Today is a rest day, and tomorrow I'm crosstraining -- hips, thighs and buttocks, I bet I'll feel that! :rotfl:

I also ate well, sort of by default. I wasn't able to have my normal lunch, so I had a Kashi bar and a Babybel. And I didn't add a bunch of other calories later, I went with clementines for a snack and had portioned spaghetti for dinner. So, for today:

B -- oatmeal w/raisins
L -- banana & pb toast
S -- clementines
D -- greek salad or baked haddock

I'm not doing a workout today, but I do plan to be active around the house this afternoon. I have plenty of things I could do, including laundry which means two flights of stairs between the bedrooms and the laundry room. Who knew that was actually a blessing?! ::yes::

Does anyone have exciting plans for the long weekend? We're just extending our regular weekend. Nothing exciting, but I'm going to do my normal household activities and eat normally.

Jen -- I think you will have such a wonderful time with your own song! I'm so proud of you, you are doing great, and you have a fantastic attitude!

Tara -- Your pounds are leaving to stay! Only success in your future!

Agotta -- Congratulations on the loss, and it's great to see you back!

Dona -- My prayers are with you for good results from your tests. I'm so glad you are being proactive about your heart!

Jennifer -- Great loss! You are on your way!

Regina -- What a nice treat for you to make the cupcakes. I would have had to eat one, resistance is futile for me where cake is concerned! You have a good attitude. We can't change the past, we can just learn from it. Even when I gain back weight I've lost, I'd like to think I've learned something else about my triggers, eating, exercise, etc. You can do this!

Talk to ya soon!
Maria

I have that feeling. We were practicing new cheers and chants. Our new good luck has me going down in the splits at the end. Guess which one we practiced the most?! The splits one. Now I have like a kink in my thigh!

And Maria-thanks. What is a BabyBel? It sounds cute and fuzzy!

Tara, your PM inspired me to really get back on track. I find that I do so much better when I'm actually posting my progress somewhere. It helps keep me accountable. So I'm accepting that I fell off the wagon, and getting back on. I was at 199 for a couple of days, but am currently back up to 205. My Disneyworld trip is in about 14 weeks. If I can average 2 pounds per week, I can be nearly 30 pounds lighter by then. So my new short term goal is 175 or less by April 24th.

Its cold, wet and miserable here this time of year, not to mention dark during all hours that I'm not at work, so my workouts will all have to be indoors. Also, my Curves membership is sitting idle, I need to find one with longer hours, since mine is only open during the hours I'm currently working, or else find a 24 hour gym, much as I dislike them. There is a Gold's Gym that will be opening up very near my house in the very near future. I might have to switch there.

Aside from losing as much as possible, I need to build up my stamina to be ready for walking miles around Disney for 7 days.

Last night, I did all the laundry that was blocking the way to my Glider (7 loads total, including the bedsheets), so I'm all set to start walking tonight. I'm going to try to work towards waking up an hour earlier so I can walk in the morning before work, and do a workout of some sort after work, but I'm the most anti-morning person you would ever meet, so I don't know how well that is going to work.

I'll be around here a lot more, you are all inspiring, and reading about your successes helps give the rest of us a jolt of willpower to succeed ourselves.

Thanks for all the encouraging words. I am looking at this a blip because I have been working out pretty much 5 - 6 days a week. I have been involved in many exercise challenges in the last 6 months and have never had any problems.

Jen congrat on the part it will be a lot of fun.

I'm here....I'm stuck at 193lbs, I hope to see the scale go down at least 5 lbs a month. I want to exercise daily, drink lots of water and stay the heck away from the fridge or cabinets. My problem is what to do when your brain is saying its bored and it's screaming to go find some food. I need to change that somehow. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the PM Tara, just what I needed to get me going again.

I went to WDW over Christmas and New Year (amazing trip, ate at amazing restaurants each night, I really recommend going over Christmas as it was not half as bad as people make out.) Anyway I came back 6lb heavier (whoops). But I started my diet the day I got back and last week I lost 5.5lb, so I have 3lb to go to get to 150lb. I really wanted to get to 150lb before we went but I was 2.5lb short of that, oh well never mind.

I have been really good this week so far but I know that I need to get excercising more as the rest of my weight (I have 27lb still to go to get to goal) isn't going to come off without it I fear.

hi all.................. I was soooooooooo close to the 150's and now I am sooooooooo far away again. I have recommitted myself I am currently 178 so i got 18 pounds to go! put me down for the 150's club.

renee :flower3:

WELCOME back RENEE!!! 18 pounds is sooo doable!! We'll have you singing that 150 song before you know it! :) YEAH YOU'RE WITH US!!!!! :)

Tigercheer...I can't believe I"m saying this but I'm going to join you on the 100 day junk free challenge...my head and body are sticking their tongue out at me and waving frantically to NO NO NO have my cheetos, have my brownies, eat those extra fries the kids don't...but I WILL NOT!!! For 100 days (boy, I need the specific date! :) I've already done it for 2 days so I'm on schedule with you so I"ll back date it from Wednesday....the 100 days for me will be up on April 21st...the only thing I'll allow is birthday cake...my daughter turns 8 on March 2nd...must have a slice! :) I'm officially cutting out all chips/except tostitos with salsa, all fries, and mindless candy and bakery goods. That should really help! Thanks Jen for mentioning it! :)

Lesli...it's up to you if you want to change your clippie..but I don't...I earned that clippie and although I'm 12 pounds away from mine...I'm leaving it there to draw me towards it! :) It makes me stronger knowing that I did it and I'll see it again...for the third time!! :crazy2: So glad to have you here, I know you'll meet that weight goal...that's a good time frame and I know you can do it...just come in and post when you feel like you're tempted by food...let us cheer you on to how WONDERFUL you'll feel being pounds lighter and that much closer to goal!!!! Cheetos are a loss killer for me..I can eat one small bag...but what happens is I start allowing myself other things after the Cheetos..if I could stick to 1000 calories and have that one bag I would...but really an apple goes a lot further in curbing my cravings...I think junk food just breeds more craving for junk food...I'm giving them up for 100 days...and believe me I'll have a bag waiting for me on April 21...they're just soo tasty! ;)

Maria!! MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE...all that long distance walking means leaner and efficient muscles! Which means smaller body size...you'll be amazed! :) AWESOME JOB!!!

TC2009..OUCH!!! Those splits are damageous! :) My new word for outrageously damaging! :) Hope you feel better soon! Congrats on the GREAT part...we'd love to get a clip of it! Hopefully your Dad will videotape it for us! :)

Lacerta...I'm up 6 pounds from before Christmas....I'm right there with you...but with a little self control and water and moving we can get back to a good starting point...I want you to see 199 and then never see it again! We'll get you so far from the 200's you'll be gliding down to the 150's! :) So glad you're back and we'll get this losing thing kicking and in high gear! Good job with the work around the house...it really helps!

Donac....I'm gonna bring you a measuring tape and show you how all those workouts are making you smaller!!! You just may not realize it! And you're burning fat so much faster than those of us who haven't gotten in the swing of working out...you're inspiring me to just DO IT!!! :)

Schatzie...oh man, if I had that answer i wouldn't have put on 13 pounds in 3 months! UGH! I find that having projects really helps though...I homeschool and when we were out of school (all of December and first two weeks of January..where I gained the bulk) I just kept finding food and all those baking projects I had didn't help...but now we're back in full swing...that keeps me out of the kitchen for 4 hours...then I have sewing projects sitting calling my name...gardening to do...lots of things to keep my mind of eating...and I just will not buy cheetos or chips from now on...my kids won't suffer and they'll get used to eating fruits and good grain snacks. Take it one day at a time..I also hung a picture of a girl that lost 30 pounds and WHAT A DIFFERENCE...I know I will have the same effect losing these 30 pounds! :)

Gang...we can do this! I had eggs/sausage for breakfast/ mozzarella stick, spoon of peanut butter and 5 pepperoni slices and a slice of orange for lunch and dinner is a spinach salad with tuna. Have had 2 glasses of water and one glass of unsweet tea. Hoping for a GREAT weekend! :)

Tara

Tara - count me in to become a smaller me in 2006. I will weigh in on Sunday to see how far I have to go to reach the 150's. Thanks for the PM to get me somewhat motivated again.

I have done nothing since getting home Tuesday morning. The weekend trip was great and well worth any pain. Here is a outline of our trip.
Wed & Thurs - drive to Florida with a short stop at Fort Bragg to have supper with one of Erin's high school classmates. Continued driving for a couple of hours to get a good start on South Carolina. Left about 8:30 Thurs am to continue on to Florida. Arrived in Orlando in time for rush hour traffic and had the misfortune of having to wait for them to clear an accident. Arrived at POR about 6:30, got checked in and headed to MK for ice cream on Main St. The parade was just starting so we walked to the ice cream parlor only to find the line zig zagged out the door (didn't want ice cream that bad). Lynne arrived about 10 pm so we walked over to POFQ and got a pizza for supper.

Friday -ate breakfast at food court at POR. Had the waffles with blueberry topping. Went to the Expo to pick up our race packets and look at all the merchandise for sale. Lynne spent alot of money on tights, shirts and water carriers. Went to POP for lunch and then back to the room to rest before going to Trails End for supper with the other WISH 2006 team members. It was good to finally be able to put a face and real name to the Marathon thread posters.

Sat - up at 3, to the bus by 3:30, and at the EPCOT parking lot by 4. They sent us over to the starting corrals about 5 to stand around until the 6 am start. The temp was about 34 and windy. It was rather chilly, even for this northerner. It took about 20 min to get to the start. I walked the half with Wish I Lived In Florida. We kept each other going and on pace. My official finish time was 3:24. Just beat the 3:30 cut off even though the clock kept ticking until about 4 hrs due to it taking some people almost 30 min to get to the start line. There were 16,000 registered for the half but only about 12,000 official finishers. (We heard later, some people sign up just to get the shirt). I have my Donald medal. :cool1: :cool1:
Lunch was at POP again. Supper was at Olivia's. I only ordered a salad because I wanted the apple crisp w/ice cream dessert. Lynne couldn't eat all her chicken so I finished it and didn't have room for dessert.
Went to DT for a while, but hit the bed by 9.

Sun - awake at 4 while lynne was getting ready to leave for the start of the Full. Went back to sleep until time to head to EPCOT to watch her finnish. She finished in 5:22 which she was not happy with. She walked the last 9 miles and got stung by a bee at about mile 17. Luckily, she is not allergic as she didn't find any medical until mile 19. Lunch was at Wolf Gang Puck Cafe.
Went to Pleasure Island for the post race gathering, which didn't amount to much so we went back to the room and relaxed.

Mon - breakfast at Boatright's. Erin had to leave to go get checked in for the college program. Lynne and I went to MGM, walked to Boardwalk, went in through the International Gateway, walked through EPCOT to catch the bus back to POR. Lynne had a 12:30 Magical Express pick up. Hung around the resort until time for my 3:30 pickup and flew home.

We spent 3 days at WDW without going to the parks and still enjoyed ourselves.

Maria - good luck with your training. You might want to check out the training tread on the Event/Competition area. Everyone is very supportive of your efforts (like on this thread) and people share their training ups and downs. Start slow so you don't get injured and get discouraged. At this point you are training to train. Work on endurance and then speed. The half was an awesome experience. It was great having people cheer you on by name (names were on the bibs). It felt like such an accomplishment to finish in the allowed time and earn the medal. I felt like I put in the effort and accomplished something just for me. I would like to do the half again next year by doing a walk/run, and attempt the full in 2008. We will have to see what this year brings.

Renee- wish I could have met you on Saturday. Good job in finishing.

For anyone thinking about training for a race "The distance is easy. It's taking that first step that is difficult."

Everyone have a great losing weekend.

Today was a good day, I stayed on plan, although I did allow myself one small cupcake. The party went well at DS5's school and only 2 cupcakes made it home. Tomorrow I have to spent the day cleaning and getting ready for DS5's party on Sunday.

The half marathon pictures have been posted. If anyone want to see them go to www.asiorders.com/ and search by bib no. My number was 17121 and Erin's was 28509. Lynne did the full, her number was 5172.

Tara - I have 80lbs to lose to make the 150's.

Regina

Man. I really don't feel good today.

I'm definitely backtracking. Yesterday, I was "sick" at the game and had a soda to call my stomach. And I gained two pounds according to my scale this morning.

Not a good day.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :grouphug: :jumping1: :jum
CONGRATULATIONS DONALD MEDAL WINNER!!!ping1:

Outstanding Kathy!!!! I know you are sooo darn proud of your self for making it!! And WOO HOO to your dear daughter!! I'd be soo happy with any number just to say I did the marathon...but I know how those marathoners can be hard on themselves...and getting stung by a bee!!! Wasn't it too cold for bees, what were they thinking buzzing around in January! :) I know there were a few other 150'ers going...haven't heard from TiffJ yet..hope everyone made it safely and had a great time...that early morning rise seems hard on the body! Welcome back and let's get our bodies down to 150's this year..you've certainly welcomed in the New Year in fitful fashion!!!!

Regina...those cupcakes are long gone...our dear Debra (westjones) got to her goal last year losing quite a big number last year by just focusing on 1200 calories a day....you can let cupcakes in now and then and still be on the losing path....you're going to see new numbers soon!!! I Feel iT!!!! Do you have a weigh day for yourself? I'm going to post successes from here on out to show you how GREAT you're doing!

Jen...scales are tricky...don't forget to measure...in the long haul...both will show improvement with the activity level and food choices you have been making...so stay strong!!! :)

Well, I did SO well yesterday..but had a mental cave....I weighed in at 188 and that's 13 pounds higher than 3 months ago...completely not acceptable...so I just kind of felt sorry for myself and although had less than 400 calories between breakfast and lunch I had 3 medium slices of pepperoni pizza to top off the night...all that sodium will not make for a good weigh in today...but on the bright side...today is the first day of the Discovery Channel 8 week challenge...it's really great....you sign on and can win prizes along the way...plus they print out menus you select from and a shopping list...anyone check it out..it may help boost you these next 8 weeks...and we can form our own 150's club on there so we can see each other's progress on a chart...so anyone interested in forming a club for ourselves check out....

http://health.discovery.com/convergence/bodychallenge2006/bodychallenge2006.html

So anyone game? I couldn't log in just now, their server may be swamped today so it's okay to sign up anytime this week!!! Just let me know! :)

Tara

Going to take my measurements now (haven't been doing that in a long time!)

Congrats all you marathoners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

38 inches.

The good news about this slump is that I got motivated. I found workouts, made a list, wrote a letter...

Goals:
Portions!
No mindless eating
Water
Exercise
Focusing on challenges and points range
Writing down what I eat!

I have also developed a habit of reading/watching TV while I eat. That stops. Today!

B: 1/2 mug tomato soup (didn't taste as good today). Two ham and cheese "rollies". 4

Hey guys!

I went ahead and created a WISH group at Discovery Channel...it's an 8 week commitment and you post your weight lost..so we'll be able to see how much all of us lose as a team! And I think they are looking at teams to feature..we could be on Discovery Channel! :) Just kidding, I'm sure they do that but I'd just love to see everyone posting losses!!! :)

I put a thread for all WISH'ers on the main board...so this is open to all WISH'ers not just the 150'ers..so encourage any buddies you have on here to come on and make this a losing 8 week journey! :)

My email is lmhall2000@yahoo.com (that's a lower case "L" at the start of my address)

All are welcome!!! :)

Notice my attempt to smile. By my next race on May 7th, also at WDW, I will be smaller. To anyone wanting to try a half marathon, go for it. you have to put in the steps. There are alot of good training schedules out there. Stop by the Events/competition trhread for more help and support.

Kathy!!!! MAN I wish I had legs like your!! Well, I guess I could if I walked as much as you did! :) AWESOME JOB!!! And I LOVE those WISH shirts!!! How cool are they!

I know you guys are soo excited about completing...that is fantastic!!! I'm going to try and sign up for a marathon this December....might need to get started now on my schedule...thanks for the incredible motivational pictures and report!!!! YOU ROCK!!!! And I think you look pretty darn good! You'll be in the 150's for sure this year!!!!
