Took the dog out for the first of multiple visits outside and WINTER is here......... :cold: :cold: :cold:

Nothing much to report on the health front....still battling with mental and motivational issues. Need to break this down into baby steps. Doesn't help that I am catching up with old friends and eating out more.:(:(

Busy Busy week again and leaving this weekend AGAIN for Indiana to visit DD21 at school......... :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Will try to just maintain at this point. :rolleyes:

Karen - I signed up for the PM buddy that Kathy is talking about. It is great to get that extra personal boost of encouragement. Can't wait for the assignments :cool1:

Kathy - Let's work on getting out of the 170's .......My one goal for the rest of the week is to take whatever is on my plate and cut it in half and NOT EAT THAT PART!!!!! What about you? I went CRAZY :crazy2: with bread and roasted garlic spread at the restaurant last night BAD BAD BAD :rotfl: but boy was it GOOD GOOD GOOD!!! :rotfl2: What is your goal of the week?

Jen- WOW you are one busy girl.............whew :faint: How do you fit it all in?

Debra - Thanks for the info on the sugar free candy!! Now if I could find a fat free sugar free appetizer (my downfall is fat and salt and crunch not so much sweets!!)........Enjoy your day!!

Tara - ONION DIP!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Need I say more. You and I have to STAY AWAY :cheer2: from those things:):) Keep walking it helps with the onion dip.:):)

Linda

Thanks Kathy, I actually signed up when the thread was first started so I'm looking forward to Friday!

Linda-1/2 plating is a great idea, I might have to think about trying that!

The SF Ice Breaker Sours are awesome! We found them this summer in a citrus flavor and now I've found them in berry flavors! But these are not super-sour so those who like somewhat sour candy might enjoy these too. :)

Hey gang!!! I'm getting geared up for coming into losing weight FULL FORCE!!! Things are settling down here at home and it looks like I can get focused on me instead of all going around me.

Let me catch up with all you guys first!!! :)

Jen!!! You are really doing GREAT on the food!!! I read your posts and realize...YES that's how I should be eating!! l think your portion control is right on! Keep up the GREAT work! :) Sorry about the blisters and ouchies...those really can be nagging! Double-backing...I'm reading posts as I get to them below and just saw where you had cinna-chip pancakes for breakfast AND dinner? Okay...portion..good..where are you veggies? fries don't count :) but I bet they were good. Como era su prueba espaniola? Muy bien, I bet! :)

Kathy...think of us when you're at the lake...I can just hear the sounds of the waves lapping on the shore and the distant calls of migrating birds...cue Audubon sounds of nature here :)...and I'm just so amazed you kept track of those caramels!!! That's my problem..I cheat on eating and don't keep track...thinking I'll make up for it at dinner then have little restraint at dinner...I'm getting back to that losing mind...thinking that buddy system will make me more accountable...we will get to the150's!!! And you will get your waist!!! :)

Linda...how funny about the campus visit to rural hunter land...yep, not my alley...I LOVE small college towns for the safety and simpler times but that's a wee bit small for me! :) I need about 50,000 in a town...:) My grandmother lives in a town of 234 on a good day. It's nice for a visit...but living there would be too challenging. Glad your daughter's found her 'home'! :)

KathyT...how's the family? Are y'all over the sickies??? That's the pits especially when the weather gets colder and wet...everything seems icky...hope the sun is shining today for you guys! Let's help each other stay on track and focused on GOOD food and exercise! :)

Debra....GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! Just having you here is GREAT!!! I keep reminding myself of how far you've come in 10 months!!! That's AWESOME...and your great attitude keeps me coming back...thanks for all you do and we will see you get to GOAL!!!! :)

welovedis!!! YES YES!!! 2teens are GREAT!!!!! you're that much closer to Onederland!!! To me the point of breaking pass that 6-8 week losing plateau was hitting Onederland...once I saw the scale hit 199..I almost cried...I then knew I'd never be in the 200's again...YOU WILL LOVE being in the 100's again!! I've loved it so much I'm hanging out at 175-180's for way toooo long!!! So let's both jump start ourselves and get down 20 pounds...then see where we can go from there! :)

As for me, I've had 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of wheat toast. 1/2 apple and a bagle...goal for the rest of the day is to not have any bread and stick to salad/protein. And get my water in...oh did I mention I had 10 pringles??? THAT's the junk for the day!!! Breakfast and lunch are over so dinner is all that stands in my way for making this a losing day! :)

Tara

Tara-My veggies are still in the can. I'm not a big veggie eater-scarcely eat any canned ones (except corn and green beans, all others "feel weird" in my mouth). Fresh ones are the best! (I hope I did well on the Spanish test!!)

My light is coming up! YAY for Pop Century!

Today I think was an OK day eating wise. We had tryouts this week for band...and I got 7th chair. Out of nine. It made me so mad!

It snowed today!

I had cheerleading. It was fun. I got a lot done.

Today's test was Spanish...pretty good.

Quote of the Day: Algo es algo, menos es nada. Something is better than nothing.

Breakfast: taco meat and bread and butter (7)
Lunch: kind of taco salad thing (1)
Snack: 1.5 slices French Bread, 2 hotdogs (8)

Tonight I am having tomato soup and a salad. That sounds great right now!

Feel better KathyT!

Hi welovedis!

I need to study for my math test tomorrow...ugh.

Thanks Tara! You are so sweet!

Hey, I wanted to 'warn' you. I weighed in today and I lost 3 more pounds, so I am now .2 away from the 70 pound clippie. So I am going to pass you up! So our race is on! My next weigh in will be the Wednesday before Christmas. Hopefully Thanksgiving doesn't do me in.

I am 2 pounds away from my goal now. Then I need to start working on maintenance. I have never been able to do this successfully before, and I am very nervous about it. My New Year's resolution for 2006 will be to weigh in at Weight Watchers each month through the year and stay within a certain range of my goal weight.

We have 8 days until Thanksgiving! Has everyone thought of their 'plan'? How are you going to handle the holiday? Think it over so you are ready to face the day and enjoy your time with your family!

Keep Losing!
Debra

Linda - my goals for the week are to not have any pepsi, complete all my scheduled workouts, and do well on my 7 mile walk Saturday. The high is supposed to be about mid-40's with no snow in the forcast. We are forcasted for snow the next 2 days. It was 70 when I went to work at 7 this morning and 48 when I came home. No wonder people get sick this time of year.

Tara - walking around the lakes is peaceful. It is not a place where you can powerwalk because of the trail. In some place is is slanted down to the water. Somedays it seems there are more dogs than people on the trail. There is a rule you have to keep you dog on a six foot leash, clean up after them, and not let them in the water. Erin thinks the owners are illiterate because the rules are not followed and are not enforced. The other place that is nice to walk is Beaver Lakes nature center. The best part is there are no domesticated animals allowed. There are numerous different trails based on how far you want to walk. The longest is 3.1 miles around the "lake" (more like a very large pond). Walks there in the early evenings usually include seeing deer, chipmunks, squirrels, geese and ducks. You can usually walk fairly close to the deer if you don't make alot of noise to scare them off.

Linda & Tara - its funny how people perceive where to attend school and subsequently live based on where they were raised. I was raised in a small town of less than 1000 people. Our high school was the consolidation of 5 rural elementary schools. Even with the consolidation, I only had a graduating class of 65. Lynne had 16 people in her 8th grade class when we lived in Montana. She graduated with a class of 850 in Liverpool. I have trouble dealing with the big city mentality. That is why I could never live on Long Island. You think my schedule is hectic, I don't have to spend 2 hours a day driving 15 miles back and forth to work. I will take the rural life over city living any day.

Jen - good luck on your math test. We didn't get any snow here today but it is forcasted for the next 2 days. I live close to the area know as the Tug Hill plateau which is forcasted to get 3-5" of lake effect snow. They are forcasting a bad winter to here due to the lakes being so warm and the lake effect snow we get until they freeze over.

Today's meals have not been too bad.
Breakfast - brown sugar & cinnamon Quaker breakfast square. (220)
Snack - Nature Valley oatmeal raisin bar, banana (120+105)
Lunch - chix ceasar salad with light dressing (cheese and bacon were the fattening part) (est 500)
Snack - 4 tootsie roll midgees. (50)
Supper - sauerkraut w/polish sausage, pillsbury perfect portion biscuit. (est 500)

Water - 70 oz so far.
Soda - none :banana: :banana: :banana:

Really need to start eating more fresh fruits and vegetables.

Debra - keep up the good work.

Maria - where are you?

Every one have a losing evening.

Morning All!!! :cold: :cold:

The high in Chicago will be a whopping 30 degree :cold: :cold: :cold: Right now the wind chill factor is 2 above zero :cold: Normal high is 49 degrees....What is going on????? :cold: :cold:

Hovering at 171.5 can't seem to shake those numbers so I need to start shaking me!!!!

Today is a salad for lunch day. Going out with some friends for dinner........eating fish....keep drinking my water.!!! :cheer2:

Waiting for warmer weather............ :cold: :cold:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

This one is easy for me! I spend Thanksgiving with my husbands family. All 3 of his cousins and his aunt are like size 2 (one of them maybe 4). So as much as I LOVE turkey and all the trimmings I tend NOT to eat very much and I always pass on dessert. Dinner with his family is not the most comfortable for me. So this may be the only day of the year I actually eat well :rotfl:

I got some of these yesterday and they are really good! I think I like the berry ones better too. Thanks, Karen!

Hey, everyone! I found a NEAT product for those of us who really need to wear bras. In the summer, I have often wished that I could wear a cami tank top, but of course I need a bra and can't wear the ones you find in most stores. The 'shelf bra' ones don't work for me either (I tried, they just didn't give the support that I need).

Well I just discovered these ones:

http://www.normthompson.com/shoppin...te15=0&attribute16=0&RS=1&keyword=Perfect-Fit

They have a real underwire built in bra! I got the one on clearance because I wanted to try it first, and I like the wine color:

http://www.normthompson.com/shoppin...te15=0&attribute16=0&RS=1&keyword=Perfect-Fit

But when I order another one (and I will before my cruise but I want to wait and make just I keep this same size in March), I would order the one with the higher neckline:

http://www.normthompson.com/jump.jsp?itemID=7588&itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&keyword=Perfect-Fit

Hey, while I am at it and we have so many new people; I will give another plug for my FAVORITE swimsuit (which also has a high neckline):

http://www.landsend.com/cd/fp/prod/...00.html?sid=0342104712492185920&CM_MERCH=SRCH

So you can bend over and not worry about 'flashing' anyone. It is two piece, so you can go to the bathroom without taking the top off, and it does a pretty good job holding 'the girls' in place!

I had this one:

http://www.landsend.com/cd/fp/prod/...00.html?sid=0342104712492185920&CM_MERCH=SRCH

and I really liked it (but I had it in a size 20 and can't wear it anymore), but I like the design of the other one. But they are both nice.

OH! Time for lunch! Gotta run! Have a great day everyone!
Debra

Hi everyone!!

It's been a long time since I've been here :rolleyes1
I am still working on getting to 150.. just not very hard.

I noticed that I am still on the first page, and wanted to see if I could get updated... I got on the scale and weighed the least I have in over 9 years!! I weighed 176 pounds! I am soo excited!! When we started this thread I was around 190-192... It's coming off slowly, but it's coming off!

A big part of my recent loss is that I started working again in the evening and it's in retail so I am on my feet all night! I need to start tracking my water again. that is a huge thing mising from my life again. I used to drink 96 oz a day.

Congrats to everyone and their success and Here's to 150!!

Hi Ladies!

How are you?! I've been doing some hard mental work, soul-searching prompted from the Body Clutter book. It's helping me face a lot of reality about my weight loss efforts and self-sabotage.

I signed up for a buddy today, and I'm so psyched! Great idea, Tara!

I also just got off the treadmill. I stayed on for an hour, which is better than I've done since September. I'd like to think everything is going to sink in and come together, but I'm afraid to. I've been asking myself lately "How many fresh starts do I get?". I guess the answer is as many as I need...

So, what have you been up to while I've been thinking and writing?!

Good Ol' Gal -- Welcome Back! I just saw your post in the buddies thread. I think it's amazing you were drinking that much water. :drinking1 Definitely a goal to aspire to!

Debra -- While I was whining you worked your tail off, literally! Congratulations on all your progress. I know I say it over and over again, but you are an inspiration for all of us!

Haley -- Are we married to the same man?! My SIL was unbelievably distraught when she had to have her wedding dress altered from a 2 to a 4...I am so totally stressed at every family gathering. I historically eat nothing while I'm there, then I go home and feel sorry for myself, which ends at the bottom of a bag of Baked Sour Cream and Cheddar chips. This year, I promise not to let it get to me if you won't. Remember, you are not suffering alone!

Linda -- I am so proud of you for sticking with it through your plateau. You are going to do this. And once I fully get my head on straight, there will be no stopping us!

Kathy -- I'm here! Thanks for checking on me. You and Debra keep me honest, posting instead of lurking sometimes. I need to eat more fresh fruits and veggies, too. My latest success strategy -- shop early Friday evening. The stores are not that full, I'm not that hungry, and they seem to be restocking the produce section.

WeLoveDis -- A wise person (on this thread) once said you have to break down your goals. I'm trying to do that myself, because I get too discouraged if I think about how much I actually need to lose.

Jen -- You are doing so well. We are all so proud of you. Just the commitment you have to weight loss is so admirable, considering all the activities you are involved in. :cheer2:

Tara -- I am ready to get right back on track with you. I'm giving myself permission to let this holiday revolve around me -- and by that I mean if I know something will make me crazy, I'm just not going to do it, or I'm going to find a way to make it o.k. Like my dh's family Christmas party (where one year my dn [dear niece]announced that her mother was so big when she was pregnant she weighed 150 lbs! Everyone oohed, and I felt like the whale that swallowed Jonah...) I'm not sure how to face it this year, but I know I need to have a strategy going in so I don't eat everything in sight after it's over...

I hope everyone has a fantastic evening, and goes to bed looking forward to a super losing day tomorrow!

Maria

Hi All!
went to the doctor's yesterday & I have, officially, lost all 30 # or so, of the weight I put back on, hoping to get under 200 by next June! :rotfl:
I have been pretty decent with the eating, doing a lot of salads & munching those carrots!!! I am perpetually thirsty, so the water business, is not too much of a pain--
I will be cheating on turkey day until Dec 4th!
I never pig out when in public.
Absolutely everyone watches what fat people eat, it always gives thinner observers such a sense of self-worth & positive self affirmation! :teeth: so I hear you Haley & Maria re Thanksgiving!
When we were at WDW this past spring, I ate pretty much as I wanted to, but didn't gain even a pound back. I don't mind walking--except my feet hurt like crazy (I have flat feet, born with 'em!)--walking when there is a fun goal, I have no problem with--I can spend an hour in a store & wheel that cart around at a good clip! :rolleyes1 walking in the neighborhood I don't like & I find doing the step(yes, I am still sticking with that) I find really boring & the tops of my feet begin aching withing 10 minutes into stepping. I know it's bizarre- the tops of the feet aching, but there it is-
My challenge will be getting back on the wagon! so I am vowing to check in here every day for a week, begining Monday, Dec 5th
NYcpa--we live rurally, too. I am a real rural driver! :goodvibes I caught myself the other day cussing out 'traffic'--all 3 cars at the crossroads! :rolleyes: There are 2 general stores in town (1 seasonal at the lake) 2 churches(again, one seasonal), a library (about 1,000 sq feet) & an elementary school. The population has swollen to about 1,000 in the past few years. there's lots of woods & 15 lakes in Washington--so seems just about everyone fishes, hunts, snowshoes etc.

Hungry in the woods-
Jean

That is tooo funny!!! We're having awful road construction up and when it takes me 3 attempts to get through the SAME red light I lose steam! I just kind of sit and melt into my seat...and then it amazes me that someone who has sat through 3 red lights and is in front of me neglects to acknowledge that the light has turned green and keeps 5 more cars from being able to make it through on their third attempt...ugh.

Okay, dh working late...had to have Guthrie's...had cereal for breakfast, rice for lunch/apples for snack then chicken fingers and fries for dinner and two nutter butter cookies...oh did I mention TOM is here?

Jean,
Congrats on the 30 pounds! Now consider it off forever! Onward and downward!

I love the carrots too. Of course I would rather eat candy and chips, but I have discovered that if I use carrots are 'stuffing' (to fill me up) then I am able to better control how much I eat of the snacky stuff.

As for salads, I am a bit burned out on them now, but I am sure I will get back into them again. What I liked to do is buy all kinds of stuff for my salad and have a mini salad bar in the fridge at all times. On Monday, I would go to the store and buy peppers, cucumbers, onions, carrots, radishes, and sometimes a few other things (but these were the main ones) and I would spend the afternoon cutting them up and putting them in zip lock bags. Then when I wanted a salad, I would get everything out and mix up a great salad!

I am currently out of my Philly Swirls (fat free)--the kids got into them. I need to make a store run tomorrow.

Has anyone else found a great low calories snack to try? I love trying new things that are low in calories. Variety is the spice of life! You got to mix it up once in awhile.

What is everyone snacking on?

Debra

:banana: :banana:

Maria - glad to see you posting. You can start over as many times as you feel the need. Great job spending an hour on the treadmill. I watch a 45 min DVD to get me thru my TM time. Keep up the exercise and the pounds will start to melt away.

Jean - enjoy the lack of traffic. Where I live now started out rural but has been taken over by shopping malls and other businesses. There are 13 stop lights in a 2.5 mile stretch and of course none of the are synched. The corridor has become much too developed.

Debra - hope you get the chance to stock up on good lo-cal snacks. I like raw cauliflower to snack on. I also like it in my salads.

Tara - I think construction season has officially ended for here. We have officially had our first snowfall for the season. There is white stuff covering everything. I guess I will find out in the morning how my car handles in this stuff.

I thought I was going to be able to take both days off this weekend. After spending most of the day doing stuff for the auditors, I accomplished little of what I should have been doing. I will not work more than 1 day though.

Tonight I spent 45 min on the treadmill and 20 min of weights to strengthen the shoulder. Tomorrow is 30 min of cross-training (does cleaning snow off the car count?)

Food for today - used many extra calories
Breakfast - oatmeal w/maple syrup
Snack - yogurt
lunch - baked rigatonis, and 3 slices of bread w/butter
Snack - 4 Tootsie rolls and 8 caramels
Supper - bbq pulled pork and baked french fries.
Water - about 64 oz.

Time to go find a snow brush for tomorrow morning.

Have a great losing day.

Keep warm

I am SO COLD! :cold:

I need to move to Florida! I just hate being cold! I have to go to the store, but I don't want to go outside!

Do you think shivering counts as exercise? :cold: :cold: :cold:

I have a pumkin pie in the oven, so the extra heat from the oven is helping. DH has left so I pumped up the heat (he moves it down, then I move it up, and this will be going on for the next week because he is on vacation next week). This summer it was just the opposite. He wanted the A/C and I kept turning it off. He is always hot and I am always cold.

OK, I know this has nothing to do with weight loss, but I am COLD!

Maria: So glad to see you post! I think of you every Wednesday as I am watching LOST. It just get more and more strange, doesn't it? But we keep watching. Tonight is DH's favorite show, NUMBERS (DH has a PhD in statistics, so he thinks it is cool that the 'numbers' guy is the hero :rotfl: ).

Jen: Aren't you freezing out at those football games when you cheer? How do you girls do it? Oh my!

Tara: You have a BIG job today doing those WISH buddies. That is so nice of you to organize it. Hope it goes well!

Kathy: I LOVE Tootsie Rolls! Aren't they great! Chocolate that lasts and lasts! I wonder how many calories you can burn while chewing a Tootsie Roll? :goodvibes

Good Ol Gal: Congrats on your recent weight loss! This is a tough time of the year, but keep it up! You can do it! BTW, I am a Buckeye living in the Hoosier State (what the heck is a Hoosier?--no one can tell me :confused3 ). I got my bachlors degree at Ohio University in Athens and my masters at Kent State. I grew up in Ohio. We are only in Indiana because of DH's job (but I will be a Buckeye at heart forever). I told DH that I don't want to die in Indiana, so he said that if he sees I am starting to go he will put me in the car and drive me across the border (about 1 hour away). :rotfl2: You must be a DVC memeber since you love SSR. I own at Beach Club and LOVE it there. I hope to try SSR sometime though. It would be nice to be so close to Downtown Disney.

Haley: I hope you enjoy some of your holiday meal, but I understand what you mean about thin relatives. The females in DH's family are very thin. My inlaws haven't seen me since July, and they don't know I have been working on losing weight, so I am sort of excited for them to see me for the first time since I have lost my weight. Just keep this in mind--NEXT YEAR you can have this weight off before Thanksgiving. It will be a very different feeling.

Linda: Could you keep this cold weather up there in Chicago PLEASE! Stop sending it down here to Indiana. :sunny: Hey, I am HOPING to remember to watch your Chicago WGN station tomorrow for the Mickey Christmas Light thing: On Saturday November 19, 2005 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (EST) on WGN -Superstation (on most cable systems) is
Lights Festival
Mickey Mouse, as master of ceremonies, leads the illumination of more
than one million lights in The Magnificent Mile district to officially start
the holiday season in Chicago!

Will you be there?

Well the pie is done, and the dryer just stopped. I have to go out in the COLD :cold: and go to the store now.

Have a great day everyone!
Debra

Hey guys! I'm back for a little while.

We had a Challenge Day this week. I think it was one of the best things I've ever done. I learned a lot about me and the others around me. I really felt accepted! You guys remind me so much of that feeling and I really like it. So thank you for being there. I learned that so many people were going through bad things and I couldn't take all the bad things away. Make the best of a bad situation...you can't have a rainbow without a little rain!!!

Parade tomorrow. A busy weekend.

Food has not been particularly well...in fact it's not been a good week at all! Exercise has been good and water has been okay. I am totally not looking forward to WI tomorrow.

But tomorrow is a new day and lots of marching!!! In the cold down a 3 mile street!!! Yay.

Cheerleading pics were yesterday and I am PROUD to say my uniform feels loose!!!! Our uniforms don't flatter any body shape or size.

Things have become much more busy now that basketball season and Disney trip are swingin' into high gear!!

Back tracking over a few posts...Debra-we do freeze...we wear a bazillion layers under the warmups (but I'm doing basketball only). And no more football games. This parade is the last marching for 05. Thank you, Maria for the compliment!! Thanks Kathy. We got lots of falling snow, but hardly any of it stuck. What good is snow when school can't be canceled and you can't make things with it?

I'll be back when I can!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My goals:
To become a more healthier me because I am worth it
Drink water
Get my bum in gear
PORTION SIZE
Better food choices.
I am doing this because I love myself and I am doing this for me-to feel good about myself.
Again, Challenge Day has really changed my life. I was in tears, but feeling the best I had felt in forever!!! Please don't hesitate to check it out!! I love it...it made me more aware.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank goodness it's the weekend and thank heavens for Turkey Day Break!!! Meet the Team night is this weekend and volunteer work.

Miss Jen is very tired. She just went and saw HARRY POTTER FOUR!!! Yay for that!

G-night!

Debra - I hear you about the cold. The temp here did not get above freezing today, besides I had to clean 2-3" of snow and ice off the car this morning. Tomorrows high is supposed to reach 40. The little bit of sun we had today made it feel a little warmer.

Tomorrow, I am supposed to do a 7 mile walk. It will be my first attempt at walking outdoors when it is so cold. I usually opt to use the treadmill but can't see myself pounding on it for 7 miles. I can also walk faster outdoors.

Exercise this week has been according to my training schedule: 50 min walk Mon, 40 min on exercise bike Tues, rest Wed, 45 min treadmill Thurs, and 45 min bike today. I was only supposed to do 30 min today, but I couldn't stop in the middle of an episode of the Pretender. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Today was not a losing day. I did fine until I got frustrated about not being able to work on an account I was supposed to have done by today. I will not get the weekend off as I had hoped. I have seminars both Mon and Tues so will not be able to do it then. My current plan is to start the holiday weekend on Wed.

Breakfast - oatmeal w/maple syrup
Snack - none - too busy running back an forth to help auditors
Lunch - large baby spinach salad with lots of veggies, ham and eggs
PM snack - part of apple, still running back and forth for the auditors.
Supper - shared a Uno Chicago Grill loaded pizza (kind of like loaded potato skins)appetizer with DD2. I also had apple crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Had them leave off the whip cream. We decided to share the appetizer so we would have room for the dessert.

I also had 2 20 oz sodas today :guilty: :guilty: They really didn't taste that good but I had one with both lunch and supper. I didn't spend enough time in the office to eat my tootsie rolls.

Hope everyone has a losing weekend. Stay out of the :cold: :cold: and keep warm. It sould be worse, there could be 4' of snow on the ground.

Happy Weekend!

Last night I went out with my best friend, who I hadn't gotten together with in a few weeks. We banged off a lot of the Christmas shopping I had left, and then had dinner at a new Mexican restaurant. It was so good! I tried to make halfway good choices - avocado, fresh tomatoes, etc., but I definitely should not have eaten all those chips! Not to mention the margarita...at least I didn't have dessert, and I really thought about the fried ice cream! :rotfl:

Today I am going to Lady Grace (a regional lingerie shop), because I'm pretty certain Oprah is right, I am wearing the wrong size bra. I'm just not comfortable going to Needless Markup for a fitting, so I'm going to a store that has specialized in bra fittings for 69 years. They have every size -- they even go up to M! Not that that is an issue for me, trust me, but I do think I have a smaller band size and larger cup size than I've been buying.

I also plan to have some treadmill time, address Christmas cards, and maybe even -- dare I say it? Start wrapping gifts for the family party Dec. 3rd. I also have to return the Pilgrim costume I bought for my ds last night to get a larger size. A note came home Thursday night that the kids have to dress as pilgrims for a Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday. I'm just grateful I wasn't the mom asked to provide "2 large bowls of fresh, homemade mashed potatoes". I think I might have went ballistic. That is just not enough notice for me, when we're trying to get the family Thanksgiving together as well. The costume is bad enough. What makes me nuts is the 4th grade is also coming to the feast, and they are dressing as Native Americans. Trust me, it's much easier to come up with a headband with a feather than Pilgrim clothes! With my luck, by the time ds gets to 4th grade, they will be the Pilgrims and 2nd will be the Native Americans...o.k., enough of my whining OT rant.

On the very bright side, I'm still working hard in the Body Clutter book and journal. The chapter I'm on right now is about forgiveness -- forgiving yourself when you make a poor choice, and being willing to let guilt, anger, and grudges go so you can concentrate on taking care of you. It's a harder concept to wrap my mind around. I do feel like when I make a poor choice, it's me that's bad, not the choice. I know that sounds crazy as I see it on the screen, but somewhere deep down I feel like I'm bad and I don't deserve to be thinner because I'm never going to as slim as the people around me. I know it's very convoluted, but perhaps someone can relate. I have always had self-esteem issues where my body was concerned, and I'm finally getting that it shows in my weight. At the end of the day, I think my willpower will come from a determination to take care of myself, rather than a determination to lose weight. I just haven't done well before when my motivation was to be thinner. I think it's going to have to be because I want the me on the outside to reflect the me on the inside. I'm rambling...

Kathy -- Did you do the seven mile walk? Seven miles at one time is very daunting to me! It sounds like you have your hands full with those auditors.

Jen -- I bet that loose uniform made you happy all day!

Debra -- Thanks for the headsup about WGN. I will check their schedule to see what time it is here. My ds will love it! I too cannot stand the cold! When we moved here from Missouri 10 years ago, my dh promised to keep me warm in the winter. That has translated into long underwear, electric blankets, and setting the heat at a quite comfortable level. This year I think I'm going to invest in a few more sweaters. Our fuel oil is so expensive, I feel too guilty to set the thermostat where I have in the past. Lands End long underwear is incredibly warm, and sometimes you can get it on clearance...

Jean -- Congratulations on the 30 lbs.! That is so wonderful. What a great result from a doctor visit.

Tara -- I hope TOM passes quickly for you. I know you are busy with the Buddy System. Thanks again for a terrific idea!

Linda -- Please keep the cold with you! I just don't want it. Glad to see you're hangin' in there!

Haley -- We are going to smile our way through Thanksgiving, because we know that next year we will be lookin' cute! :wizard:

In the immortal words of Mr. Rourke: "Smiles, everyone, smiles!".

C'Ya Real Soon!
