:: We have bought the 14 day ultimate pass through virgin .If we don't use all the days can we pay and add the no expiry option on them.Does anyone know? I have heard youcan do it when you leave and they tot up how many days you have left and then charge accordingly. Is this right? Is it done at the disney parks or is it not possible on the ultimate ticket.
Just thinking about saving a few penny's for next years trip as we won't use all 14 days this trip.
I'm sure the 'never expire' option only applies to the Magic Your Way tickets. The Ultimate 14 and 21 day tickets are unique to UK visitors (in recognition of the longer vacations we take compared to US visitors).
If you want tickets with non-expiry the Magic Your Way tickets are definitely the way to go.
Our 10 day hopper/non expiry have lasted us 2 holidays so far - to be honest I have never seen the appeal of tickets that expire at the end of your stay.

I know but at the time I wasn't planning on going back for a couple of years.I wonder if virgin will swap them for us or take them off the booking?they will probably charge an admin fee though so it won't be worth it.Never mind you live and learn eh.

We made the same mistake the first year we went too - we bought our park tickets through Virgin and then found them £40 each cheaper elsewhere. It still wasn't worth the £50 each admin fee they wanted to charge to take them off our booking though
We learned a valuable lesson then - never, ever book your park tickets through the TA unless they are an absolutely unbeatable price.
we have upgraded uk tickets, but found it hard to do.We got ours from atration tickets direct,on there web site it states you can upgrade to non expiry.Still took us over an hour at MK.And SIL longer

Its also quite expensive when its the end of your holiday! We had 2 days left last year and enquired about it but it was going to cost $100 I think and so I didn't bother, thinking we wouldn't be back this year.
Now I've booked again it may well have been a good idea after all, but thems the breaks.
I think it really depends on what you do on your holiday. We do buy the ultimate tickets because they work out at being only about £10 more than the 7 day ticket. So after your 7th day of use you are saving money. We tend to visit Disney every day and either Universal/Islands/Sea as well. So basically have hopper passes that cover all the major parks in Orlando. If we were just going to one park one day then the Ultimate tickets might not be as attractive.
In time, when the kids are older, we would probably switch to buying a block of tickets that do not expiry and then not hop around instead having a lovely meal and more of a relax in the afternoon/evening. Also if it is a trip of a lifetime getting the Ultimate ticket allows people to visit the parks as much as they want, instead of being left with tickets they may never use if they are never going to go back, if you know what I mean.
Going back to the question, as far as I am aware you cannot upgrade Ultimate passes, only Magic Your Way ones.
