Aw I'm sorry there has been such a big debate. I stay off the website for a day and I come back to this craziness!:flower3: Sorry!

I hope you kept your comment on your blog because hey it's your opinion, it's your posting, and we live in America with freedom of speech! Stand up for your rights! I'm sorry people were bullying you about them. :sad2:

Keep up the good reviews and delicious pictures!

Yes the comment is still on my blog. I only removed it on here.

Bring it on! Just PLEASE no more pics of that stupid shirt LOL!!! :scared: :scared:

I have been enjoying your reviews and love seeing the pictures! :)

I think that both restaurants are from different parts of Italy. Tony's sauces were more acidy and had carrots in them. That's how some Italians make their sauce. In Tutti it's a different form of sauce. Theirs was more like my mother and grandmother made. I think they also used tomatoe paste to make it thick. Again the way that part of Italy makes their sauce. Both places were good but different. If you're used to one part over the other than most likely one place wouldn't taste "right" to you. I liked both but loved Tutti since that's what I'm used to.Believe me, not too many places make sauce from "scratch" even the little old italian ladies open a can of tomatoes and a can of tomatoe paste to make their sauces:goodvibes

Eh, maybe. I find food in such places like that don't really change much, especially if its sauces and such. I doubt they make their sauce from scratch. If so they need a better recipe. :lmao:
Did you go to Tutti in Italy? How did that compare? (I miss alfredos :guilty: at least that was semi-close)

:confused3 Um, ok. I'm pretty sure Tonys opens a can from their suppliers, as most restaurants do. It has nothing to do with the regions of Italy. Authentic restaurant probably, americanized fast food Italian, doubtful.
Just curious, what region of Italy did your family come from that they put carrots in their sauce?

And I don't follow the whole tomato sauce point.

Regardless, carry on. Where did you go next?

Guys have you even read the past couple pages???? Enough with the tomato sauce debate--open up a thread in the restaurant forum and let this thread be what it should be: one person's review on disney dining!

I have to say the opening a can of sauce from a supplier made me wince since it is so easy to make sauce... clearly, I make it the way my Mom made it and probably the way hers did, but I am sure maybe my Grandmother and great Grandmother used their own tomatos.....

So.. I am waiting for more reviews from your trip and I thought the tee shirt was funny, in a good way.

I also thought the tee was funny...I hope the op caught on to that :)

Thanks Pumbaa_ & pumba!

Also, the results are in!!! I went ahead and tallied up the receipts.
The DDP would have cost us $911.76

We spent OOP on food and snacks that would have been covered in the DDP (not including appitizers, extra drinks and tips) $945.53

We spent $588 on extra drinks, tips and appitizers (which would have not been covered in the DDP, but we would still have gotten regardless).

Making it if we were on the DDP, we would have only saved $33.77!

So there you have it! Frankly Im glad we didnt do the DDP. We werent limited, and we didnt have to hear what we could and couldnt order. Worth spending the extra $33 IMHO.

Will we go the DDP route next time? Theres about a 99% chance that we WONT do the DDP!

Very interesting results! In the future, you may want to see if an AP plus a DDE card would work for you. Although you have to pay for the DDE card, it provides a 20% discount at most TS places including adult beverages. It may not help with your travel patterns, but I know for me last year and this year, it has definitely helped.

It wouldnt work. We would have to make sure we go yearly if we did AP. And with DH being in the military theres no guarantee we can go every year. Otherwise we would be spending a lot of money on AP that we would use only 1 time just so we can save a couple dollars on our meals with the DDE. Besides once we go in 2009, we're not gonna be able to go again until 2011 or 2012, since I wanna borrow points from 2010 for our 2009 trip for a 1 bedroom at AKV. If the DDE did help save some $, it wouldnt be worth saving a few $ at each meal. It just wouldnt be cost effective or we would probably end up coming out even if we just paid OOP for our meals without the DDE and AP since we would have to purchase AP and DDE.

That was my suspicion, but I figured that it was worth mentioning. For me, it was cost effective this year (3 trips) and last year (2 trips) but won't be next year (at most 1 trip).

Yeah if I knew for certain if we could go like in Dec 2009 and then like Oct 2010 then it would work out great for us. Unfortunatly for us, we cant go several times in a yr like a lot of people can who have DVC or because they can afford it. So we have to limit ourselves to once a yr or once every other yr. and do long trips. I dont think I could get DH go more then once a yr anyways. He thinks going to Disney once a yr is enough.

Im glad you were able to make sense of what I was saying. It was kinda hard to explain on a computer :rotfl:

If you own DVC, you can get the DDE card at a discount, no AP needed.

But DVC is danged expensive, 160 point minumum, and the yearly dues are not cheap either.

But the benefits are good for some people.

Really? I thought that DVC just gave you an discount on the AP. Then you use the AP to get the DDE card. :confused3

I've owned DVC for six years and was never able to purchase the DDE until I purchased APs for my husband and myself. This is not a perk that is listed anywhere on the member website ... I think you may have confused this with something else.
