We loved Boma! The food was really good. I especially loved the ham and cheese omlet, and I normally hate cheese in my eggs. For starters - DH liked the french toast a lot. I had that from in-room dining on our anniversary - and it is very good. The muffins were OK. They werent that great. The cinnamon roll, both DH and I agree that it was just OK as well. We love cinnamon rolls that are soft, warm and have a lot of cinnamon flavor. These werent soft, but werent hard either, they were cool and they tatsed pretty bland. We both agree that the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls I make every Sunday morning were better then these. Outside that, everything else was very good!

We went back to DTD that day after breakfast and washing our clothes. We had lunch at Earl of Sandwich. At first we were gonna go to Wolfgang Puck right next to EoS, but then DH decided he rather have a sub. So we went and checked out the menu at EoS, and decided to go there.

Cannonballs Sub $5.75 each, Chips $1.25 each and Orange Powerade $2.50 each - We both got the same things

The subs were pretty good. DH said he thought they were better then subway. We will go back to EoS sometime, but probably not next trip as I wanna try Wolfgang Puck and T-Rex Cafe.

Right before we left DTD to go back to AKL to get ready for dinner, we stopped by Goofys Candy Co. I told DH one of my main goals that trip was to go to Goofys to get something made. So we did. What we got were really good. I just wish I could say the same thing about the service. There was 1 guy who was making the candy apples and marshmellows and 1 girl making the pretzels. The guy was pretty quick on getting DH candy apple done. He was doing a huge order before he started doing DH's and their order took about 15 minutes to complete. But mine - OMG. The girl was soooooooo slow! She was doing others, and then when she went to pick up my order slip, she stopped to talk to some other customers for 15 minutes!!! FINALLY, she started to dip my pretzels into chocolate, left them and then the guy who did DH's apple took over and finished doing my order. I was not happy at all. I was getting impatient, cuz time was running out, we had to get back to AKL soon for dinner. We went in there at 5pm, and didnt get out of there until 5:45pm! It was crazy.

Mine - Pretzel Rods - Dipped in Milk Chocolate and rolled in crushed M&Ms

Jiko means The Cooking Place in swahili. It needs to be called Ajabu mahali meaning The Amazing Place. I have never tasted anything so good in my life then what we tasted that night! The only other time I can say it was just as good as Jiko was Teppan Edo. But thats for another review. The appitizer was sooooooooooo good! And the Filet's...they were cooked well done, but let me tell you, they were still so moist and not dried out, the flavor was out of this world! I wanted to order another Filet when I finished mine! :lmao: The mac and cheese was also very good as well. I didnt care for the sauce at all and was glad I asked for it on the side. DH also asked for his on the side as well, but he ended up liking the sauce so he dipped his filet into the sauce each time he took a bite. Will we go back to Jiko - you bet your life on it! Jiko is one of our favorite places to dine at. Next time, I might need to make 2 ADRs for Jiko! :rotfl:

Great reviews!! You have convinced me to try Jiko in May and Boma...we are staying at AKV for the first time next May...how did you like the resort?

Yum!

Haven't been to any of the AKL restaurants. They do look good!

I'd be getting the sauce on the side too, or else the filet and sauce on a separate plate from the mac and cheese.
I don't want any juice in my mac and cheese.
That flatbread looked pretty good too.

I only get Filet at WDW, so I aim to get one every trip. Home is a lot of hamburger and chicken. [We've been spoiled by free dining!]
Wonder why I like WDW so much? LOL

Looking forward to more!

So glad you liked Boma, it is our favorite breakfast in all of WDW and we feel the same way about their muffins and cinnamon things....Pillsbury is better!

Thank you for your Jiko review, that is the place I picked for my b-day dinner! I plan on getting the sauce on the side too!

Great reviews and pics! I love the filet at Le Cellier, but may have to give Jiko a try now...it sounds delish there Can't wait for the rest :)

Actually the minimum right now is 100 points for AKV, but that will change and go back up to 160 probably. As for yearly dues, its not that bad. If you have 160 points its $754.00 or $62.84 a month.

If you own DVC, you can get the DDE card at a discount, no AP needed.

But DVC is danged expensive, 160 point minumum, and the yearly dues are not cheap either.

But the benefits are good for some people.

Oh duh I read that review lol. Thank you for the link :)

Great Pictures and awesome review! We can't wait to go next month!!!

Dumb question though, our agent didn't say anything about us needing reservations, but looking around it seems like some say they are necessary. Do you think we can try to walk up to the poidums and ask the waiter if we can eat?

tHey have to keep some tables open for walking-up people, right???

They don't have to and often do not. If you're going during free dining, I would absolutely make ADRs as soon as possible.

Thank you so for the quick advise! I'll start working on them Now I just need to sit down and figure out exactly which ones will be the best for us!!!

Disney here we come!!! :dance3:

I would not go to Disney without ADRs unless I plan on eating CS. The night we went to Boma, a family of 4 walked up hoping to get in, they accepted the walk-in. However they told them it would be a 2 hr wait! They must of really wanted Boma because they accepted the ADR. No way would I ever wait 2 hrs! However there were a couple other places where they were turning people away like at Chefs de France, Sci-Fi and 50's and I think I saw someone get turned away at Jiko.

Our fav's were Coral Reef, 50's PT, Jiko, Boma, Sci-Fi and Teppan Edo. Hope that will help you out some. CRT is in there as well but at the bottom of the Fav list. Jiko and Teppan Edo are tied for spot 1 :rotfl:

Bellesmom - Oh, I'm so sad you don't have ADRs! Please call immediately. People booked them 5 months ago for your time period.
You will have to be flexible with your times, dates, and places.

That said, if you don't get something you want, make sure you call when you are down there. Sometimes there are last minute cancelations.

But please don't depend on it.

There really is no such thing as walk ups anymore, and they definately don't keep any back.

IF you need something when you are there, don't wait until you are hungry. Call dining that morning, or go to the restaurant a couple of hours before you want to eat.

But please, please, please call now!!! :wizard: Here's a bunch of pixie dust to get you some ADRs!!!
