HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY JOHN

So sorry I missed it yesterday. Hope you had a great day.

Speaking of those ugly possums, guess what I ran over the other night? Yup ambled out of the woods right in front of my car just as I had my blinker on to my block. Ugh. I hate them. Thought it was an armadillo at first but it was still there last night. We had one curled up by the front door once and it hissed at us as well.

Been preoccupied with life lately. Haven't changed the ressie over . Still waiting for the new ships. Just have to see how everyones health is.

I almost choked I was laughing so hard! :lmao:

John

It will make our trips to FL that much more enjoyable!!! :yay:

I am pretty sure we have one trying to make a home under my front porch.
I agree with you Stephanie it's nothing but a giant country rat.

John

Where's the *shudder* smilie! AACCKKK!!!!

Sorry folks - just had to share!

Hey All! Just wanted to let you know that I was MIA yesterday due to a last minute plan. My SIL had two extra tickets to catch the Ellen show at the WB Studios in Burbank. So we hauled off our carcasses to the show. It was very last minute and I didn't mention it because we ended up being sat at the top middle row section. I figured my chances of getting on TV were almost nil to none.

Well, I mentioned it to my DIS friend, DisneySweetie and she just called me that she saw me on TV. For a milo-second. :lmao: But hey - I was there. She says that as Ellen comes dancing down the stairs I am off to the edge of the screen. I am saying this because as of now - it has not been shown on the West Coast. I am dressed in black of course, so I don't stand out. We were told to dress business casual and if jeans are worn to make sure they are not torn. I was standing next to a very tall gentleman who's wearing a white long sleeved pinstriped shirt. My daughter Megan is next to me in jeans - she was the smart one and wore comfortable clothes - and a beige cardigan over a purple polka-dotted shirt.

So, if any of you watch Ellen, make sure you tape it! LOL

BTW folks, that woman is SUPER TINY! I know that she looks normal size, but as she was dancing down the stairs I got a good look at her. I would be hard pressed to say that she is a size 6. We finally decided she is between a size 2 and maybe 4. She is very petite and although she was sporting a cold - she was blowing her nose and being checked for bats in the caves ( :lmao: ) she was trying her best to be herself. She was a bit subdued but I can see where she is a very good entertainer. Here I was all pressed to be bored and even I had a good time.

Her guests were Kristin Chenoweth from Wicked and Pushing Daisies fame - the one with the high pitched voice? Some home decoratere with how to dress up your table for the holidays inexpensively and Robin Thicke who floored me with how much he looks like his dad - Alan Thicke. Nice looking guy! and :hyper:

We made it out of there with Robin Thicke's new CD and a couple of samples of some cream for expectant mothers. I haven't opened the package yet as I am in the process of sending out some packages to my soldiers but I wanted to share. Hope you all can catch it. I also made it out with an Ellen jacket which I will post a picture of later. I am trying to get ready for a home volleyball game at St. Paul. So I will post later.

Sounds like you had fun!

Years ago - 15 - a friend and I went to a taping of the Phil Donahue show (he did a week in Fort Worth). It was lots of fun and that was when I decided that the camera must add about 40 lbs to people! Phil was really thin -- he always looked a chubby on tv.

After meeting many television stars I can definitely say that the camera does add pounds and inches. Several of the male stars that I thought were tall and muscular really weren't. And the women who look healthy on tv are really extremely thin. I can't imagine what the ones look like in person who look too thin on tv.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY JOHN

Maybe this will make up for me trying to volunteer you and Cheryl for Match your Mate:rolleyes1 I couldn't resist though since you guys are the only ones I knew that hit the 40 year anniversary mark.

Did you come back to see the show;)

I've missed you guys:grouphug:

Almost done with marching band:cheer2:

Maybe I'll have time to look at vacation pics soon:woohoo:

I'm waiting on the new ships at this point to transfer my ressie. We may change our mind though... We do that alot:rolleyes:

I just missed your five(one minute)of fame!!! :sad2: :sad2:

Never fear Cheryl, us Leo's always make it a point to catch some fame! :lmao:

Steph - I like your number better - I'm going to use that one next time! :thumbsup2

I was reading an article on the New Beverly Hills 90210 vs the Old one. The girls back then, Shannon (5'2") , Jennie (5'4") and Tori (taller than the other two) were all weighing about 120 - 135 lbs. I thought they were skinny.

The ones today (and I have not seen that program) weigh from 98 lbs :scared1: to 108 lbs. and they range from 5'4" to 5'7". So that is what 20 years does to television! :scared1: Scary I tell you.

Laurie, the trouble with one season ending is that you then have to gear up for the following season and they usually run back to back. :sad2:

I hope your able to sign up - you know your always welcome on the 7/18/10 thread. Mike & Linda are going on that one. I am talking positively here so your more than welcome! :flower3:

Thank you for the belated birthday wish, and no I did not not make it back for the show. I was feeling a little under the weather:sick: , even though Cheryl thinks I was avoiding it.

Oh!!!!
We've been talking about a European cruise and maybe trying another cruiseline. If we decide to go with DCL and their higher prices it will be because cruising with you guys again would be fantastic:cloud9:

Gotta talk to DH again about this cause our 18th wedding anniversary would be 7/19/10:rolleyes1
This would be easier if it was a big number (like 20 or 25)

Ok, now I feel better...not that I'm glad you didn't feel well...but that I didn't cause you to leave:upsidedow ;)

I was telling DH before the TOAL that I wouldn't want to get picked for Match your Mate with people I knew in the audience:scared:

Some things are better off not being general knowledge:rolleyes1

Hope you had a great b-day:thumbsup2

 Probably waaay scarey!!!

A friend of 17dd's lives in the LA area and was in a Lifetime *made for television* movie this past year. She is a really tiny girl IRL an in the movie she didn't look tiny and she was alot taller then the *star* Nikki Bronsky.

Maybe this will make up for me trying to volunteer you and Cheryl for Match your Mate:rolleyes1 I couldn't resist though since you guys are the only ones I knew that hit the 40 year anniversary mark.

Wasn't that the night you came back later in the evening with the Disney champagne that Cheryl brought home?
Cheryl, when will be a *good enough* time to open it? I've had a bottle for almost 3 yrs..... :rotfl2:

Actually, that was the night we all stayed and talked in the halls with Laura and Desiree til almost 2 in the morning!!:cool1: :cool1:

I am deciding to either wait til New Year's or our 41st anniversary.:rolleyes1 I do keep looking at the bottle.:worship: :worship:

Right now we're on the WB TA but, we may move it....

  Lets hold on to it til we decide what is for 2011!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: We have almost two years to decide.:rolleyes1

Just finished catching up. I am so jealous I wish we had a cruise booked. But we are going to have to wait till Spring 2011. We hope that there will be a PC Repo then if they move one of the old ships to the West Coast. I thought going thru the Canal was amazing and would be happy to do it again. We looked at the west bound transatlantic which was reasonable but the airline tickets to Barcelona make it impossible.

Still have to finish packing for our trip to WDW. It would be easier if the kids didn't leave their Florida clothes here. There are only two of us here but I am still packing for 6. Can't wait to hug the GK's again. It's been almost 2 months. The last time I saw then was the day before we left for LA. DD reported the other day that they were out on the front sidewalk playing airport. One of them stands there with their arms out and the other runs at full speed. It works better when it is me waiting at the end of the entrance to the main terminal in MCO with them running to me. I keep telling them they are getting too big to be picked up but I still continue to do it.

It's been so dry here the lawn is getting brown -- guess when it's a 70% chance of rain -- Friday when we are going to MNSSHP. Just finished convincing my 5 year old granddaughter that she can still go trick or treating at the party even if she doesn't wear her Cinderella costume. The 3 year old doesn't care what he wears -- he just wants candy and a lot of it.

OK better get back to the packing and the F&W brochure. Don't want to miss anything. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Barbara

Isn't that the truth. We have been discussing holiday possibilities with the kids. Punched in airfare from Vancouver to London or Paris. Base price is basically $1800.00 per person and up and we have to x that by 4 :scared1: That's roughly $8000 before we even start the rest of holiday.

So, we'll be doing holidays in North America.
