12/5/09 -- DUMMY -- The Cruise Your Heart Desires Most ; )

Try looking at the price for 5.... 3 of them adults! :scared1:

Jon wants to do one of the Northern European cruises...... David & Helen are doing the July 6th one and y'all are doing the next one...... :confused3
Unfortunately Jon & I never got a chance to discuss them when he was here - he's in England now, again! The price for the 5 of us in a Cat 4 & airfare is close to what it costs for us in a Cat 3 on the Panama cruise......

I do have the WB TA on hold right now -- I did it without dh knowing. I am hoping to talk to him later today or tomorrow.............. the price was really good -- granted right now it is only a Cat 4! LOL!

Since dh has to have a balcony I don't know that we would save any money with connecting rooms -- if our rooms weren't connecting then we would have to have a *boys room* and a *girls room*.

You will  your ABD!!!! Even though I have the WB TA booked...we may cancel and book a family ABD instead.

All of your plans sound wonderful!!! And I so know what you mean about not paying for the older ones!!!! Samantha will be 19 by the summer of 2010. But, her daddy told her that as long as we *liked* her she could travel with us. Our older 2 weren't *liked* as much by us when they were that age. :rotfl2:

 Des I hope you are feeling better soon!

I SOOOOOOOO know what you mean about liking. That is a major reason my oldest child and male human did not go on the Med with us. I am working on him now as he hates to fly longer than 5 hrs. My oldest girl - while oldest still looks like a 16 yr old and so gets away with it. But she's looking at an intern job with the Mouse so I'm PUSHING SUPER HARD for that to happen - then she can't come with us which only leaves the "baby" but I can work that one. ;) Believe it or not -- that is the one that will kill me when she moves out. I love all my kids equally but the older two? Yes, its time for them to start looking for a home. Unfortunately, my oldest girl likes school! I created a monster! :scratchin I guess it didn't help that we paid the downpayment for her new Saturn Vue WHICH she was supposed to use for moving away to college. THAT DIDN'T WORK! Told Steve it wouldn't but he wanted to show me it would. :rotfl2: Yeah - look what it got him - both of them at home! :lmao:

Diane what is happening to your res sox. Their going the same way the White sox did.

Hi Laura yes we are booked for the WBTA. It just depends on how much money we keep losing.
John

:woohoo: :woohoo: (But I know what you mean - Steve took out all our money out of the market and is killing himself trying to get some out of me. But you know me - I'm a one-way bank - money goes in but never comes out - FOR HIM that is! :rotfl: )

Hmmm...just tried to look at the NYE cruise on the DCL site. It isn't listed.
Chuck (my TA) thought they would open it today since it starts in 2010.
It doesn't look like the Christmas cruise is open either.

I guess I'll have to stay tuned to see how this ends...

So was it a happy ending??:confused3 ;)

We are currently at AKL but hope to move it to BW at the 7 month window! I am so glad you are going (not like I wouldn't see you bfore then but still!) Also..I am emailing you the info we talked about last week.

Looking forward to spending time with you!

ME TOO!!!!!:worship:

So...my latest adventure..about 2 weeks ago..while on our mystery cruise one evening...I had a lot of pain in my shoulder and arm...nothing tingling or having trouble breathing so I ignored it. Once home the pain kind of hung out in my upper chest and shoulder and when I pressed the spot...it really hurt. Everyone said..pulled muscle it will get better...yesterday it got so bad..I had trouble breathing, sharp pains in the chest and back and my left arm..off to the Dr. (Dad passed away of a heart attack so I am a little freaked out by the prospect). Turns out..It is muscle damage...from my wrist to my shoulder and across my chest ..so here I sit..in a sling on my left arm (typing one handed is the pits!) and am not allowed to lift, carry, pull..etc....I am on an anti-inflamatory med and should be better in about 4-5 weeks..

Unfortunately, while at the Dr.'s...he realized it's been a long time since I had a full check-up with blood work so I have to go back and do that in about 2 weeks....

Sorry about your arm.:sad2: Easier and less painful to break a bone!!!:rolleyes1

I hate when doctors want to get blood tests!!! I have 6 different ones to do by January 7th.:headache:

Laura, how many cruises have you got booked ?????

Love to see ya in the summer!!!!!!

I guess not enough.:lmao:

Cool! : Can't wait to catchup with you! We'll have to find a land version of RBD to congregate. BTW, let us know how you like RCCL. Did it so long ago can't remember if I liked the line.

 A land based RBD.:woohoo:

Ah Des - glad to hear it's nothing SUPER serious - although that's painful as it is. Not so glad to hear its been a while since your last exam - although I am the pot calling the kettle black. I am about 6 months late for my mammogram. Keep us updated on the check-up.

Me too!!

Arelene - I know - I warned you all I'm crazy. In all honesty, I did not think I would be booking so many, it started out like this. I had planned on 7/18 cruise ONLY - which is the one that many of my 7/28/07 Med Group were booking as a reunion. Plus, my birthday lands ON a sea day which forces all the attention on me that day! :teeth: So, I asked a dear friend, Grumpylover54 to book it for me. She then called me to tell me that another group of friends which I had sailed on in the 11 Night Special Caribbean were sailing on 7/6 and did I want to book that one? So, in discussion, I at first hemmed hawwed because in the back of my mind I was really considering doing the Westbound TransAtlantic. I had a blast plus its so late in Sept that there is a good chance there will not be that many kids onboard.

So, I told her to book only 7/6/10 and the Repo if it was inexpensive (relatively anyway). While talking to Julie - Bellelinus -she told me to listen to her and just book it (7/18) so I did. Especially since Steve came home early and saw me on the computer - saw what I was looking at - the dates and innocently said -OH! A back to back? So, I explained that these were 2 12-day cruises and we probably couldn't do both and I would be missing my birthday celebrations by a cruise. He again replied - no back to back. Well, he sounded so upset that I asked him all excited - if I could book it since we had about 22 months to decide. He said go ahead. Then, Pam got me online and we discussed our annual September cruise and we talked each other into booking the TransAtlantic.

So to make a long story short, I booked 3 - the Ghost Cruise ressie went to the Family cruise - the 7/18 where we booked 2 cabins. However, I am sweriously hoping that by the time 2010 rolls around, I will have gotten rid of at least one of the older two kids. They are getting way too expensive to cart around. Besides, about time they lured their own money maker to the altar.

I then contemplated booking a Dover to Barcelona cruise but the price for that 8 day was about $2 grand MORE than the WB TA was so that went out the window.

Chances are I will have to cancel one but which one? I managed to talk a friend from home to sail with us. They ended up booking late last night on the 7/18 one. I'm afriad the one that may get cancelled is the 7/6 one. However, I have 22 months to work on this.

Anyone else, booking with hopes of finding a way to go later?

I haven't even begun to tell Steve what Disney is charging for a hotel room (about 586 for 2 adults for one night!) I am just going to tell him to book a small efficiency apt like I did with my friends and spend about 3-4 days ahead of time.

I'm a stinker aren't I?

You know, he always has the option to say no to me (:lmao: ) but he hasn't yet. So, I'm pushing the envelope. Besides, had to take advantage of that 50% booking deposit.

I don't think Steve's knows the word "no" at least to you.:thumbsup2
;)

BTW, CHERYL - ARE YOU GOING ON THE WBTA? I'M NO GOOD AT BEATING AROUND THE BUSH! :rotfl2:

Yes.........I did book but we did not get out of the market.:sad1: I will work on Des!!!;)

( If you are - we have to work on Des to get on this one)

Did you get my email???

Sorry...You won't get us on the TA....even though the timing is fine..I promised Richard I wouldn't even consider it because we will be doing a 7 day RCCL that summer with friends and then something nice in 2011.

We booked the RCCL Serenade of the Seas for the Halloween 4 day next year for our mystery cruise..it goes out of San Diego and goes to Cabo...as a treat to ourselves we booked a suite (since no other cruises for a year!) ..I really wanted to add a cruise next summer on Wonder after our WDW trip but am restraining myself from doing so!

I better spend more time on work and less time on vacation planning!

We are going trick or treating at Mickey's Halloween Treat tonight at DCA. Still trying to decide what I am going to wear as a costme...oh well..5 hours to decide!

Okay I am jealous!!!

Hey Mom get my room ready. :sad2: My Mortgage Co is like a vaccuum.... Not helpful at all lately....

Ahhh they'll choke as usual. (Sorry....) Although i am rooting for them too....

Gotta scram....

Room is ready anytime K!!!!

Oy I don't know but it doesn't look good for them or the Patriots this year!

Like the Cubs fans say" Wait until next year!":rotfl:

I was so close to coming down this weekend since there's no school tomorrow, teach work day or something. Wanted to do the party tomorrow night but it was sold out, so considered tonight. Then the practical side of me vetoed the idea. Good thing too, Trevoy got suspended today, so I would have really hated the thought of taking him to DL right after that.

What did you go as? I'm sure y'all had lots of fun!!

I am so sorry! I can still see him having fun in Studio Sea!

DD has two F's and two D's .....

UGH!!!! It's always a shame when kids don't realize that their grades really do matter! Good grades give you more choices in school -- and it keeps your parents happier. :thumbsup2

I hope that she realizes all of this soon!

Last night was sold out too..it was fun and we had a good time..the insane part of me put us in line at 10:20 (party ended at 10:20) for Toy Story Mania and didn't get home until 11:45PM. unfortunately, found out that DD did not study for a history test she had today (she has a History class at her Friday school) needless to say..she did so poorly..she has lost all entertainment for the weekend .. she has a birday party tomorrow which was my first choice but I would hate to do that to the birthday girl. Told her she has to study all weekend. Sorry that he got in some trouble at school

What did you go as? I'm sure y'all had lots of fun!!

I ended up with my sock hop costume...I will post some pictures tonight when Richard gets home and can help me with the uploading. We had lots of fun...pictures with characters...lots of tick or treating..it's a quest to us each year..how many times we can circle the trick-or-treat stations...they don't limit you. The 3 of us brought home just under 25 pounds of candy :rotfl2: I give it out to the neighborhood kids on Halloween. Went on some rides and had a nice dinner.

Ok..here are a few pics to share with all of you...

Des sorry about your arm, congrats to DD for her ribbon, & LOVE the costumes, especially the glasses! :goodvibes

I'll drink to that!:drinking1

Wait...is that a possum or an opossum?

I hope it's an opsossum, cuz that's worth two! :drinking1 :drinking1

Des, how's your arm?

Well if it's an opsossum...I'd say you already had a few! :lmao:

We actually became smart last year and bring backpacks ...it's become kind of a quest each year now to see how much candy we bring home..we see other's doing the same thing :rotfl2: I look at it as now I don't have to go out and buy candy! They give out the good stuff too...mini candy bars..dots..tootsie rolls...luckily for me..i am not a huge candy fan so i stay away from most of it.

I'll drink to that!:drinking1

Des, how's your arm?

Have 2 drinks..she said it was an oppossum.. :rotfl2:

Hey Cheryl..I even touched the cute little guy! (He was at our GS event last weekend at the Zoo)

My arm is doing okay...my problem is that I dislike taking any kind of medicine (even Tylenol!) so it's hard for me to remember to take my meds. Mostly my back and my lower arm hurt now..the pain in my chest is pretty much gone.

Des sorry about your arm, congrats to DD for her ribbon, & LOVE the costumes, especially the glasses! :goodvibes

I love those glasses...that was my favorite part of the costume! I could do without the crinolin tho...really don't need extra on my backside and it scratches!

Desiree, great pictures. Kaitlin says that its cool Tori won a blue ribbon. Was Tori a gypsy? (Kaitlin question!)

Tori says "hi"!!!

OMG Des! That is too cute - the costume not the OPossum!

BTW, did I tell you guys that Isis, cornered an Opossum? I was so freaked because all of a sudden I hear my non-barking dog bark. I went to investigate, didn't see anything brought her inside, she bolted outside and started barking again. So I went to investigate and saw this UGLY, Opossum stunned by our pool ladder. Turns out that Isis had cornered the dang thing and I was so worried about it biting her because it was limping, I called the emergency after hours SEAACA. They called back about 15 minutes later and told me that if Isis wasn't bitten I could either throw a box over it or wait until morning and they'd send somebody out.

I called Andrew who came over from his girlfriend's house and he and Steve chased this UGLY, UGLY, UGLY FREAKY-Bass thing out the back yard to the front. 1/2 way through the back it turned and hissed at Andrew but he said it was definitely limping. I called our vet and they said to just keep an eye on Isis and as she was current on her vaccinations she should be ok. I now have some newfound respect for my non-barking dog. And have warned everybody - you hear Isis barking - something is definitely wrong.

Did I mention the Opossum freaked me out? I didn't even think about taking a picture of it until after they swept it out of the yard. (I was too busy standing on my kitchen chair and trying to keep the dogs inside.)

I'll drink to that!:drinking1

Des, how's your arm?

::yes:: Des, how's the arm? I've got my wrist wrapped. Was at April's volleyball tournament today and shooting pictures. Went to the bathroom to wash up and heard something pop. I got scared because I got this shooting pain up my arm and my wrist swelled up. Luckily April had an ice pack and I iced it for about 20 minutes. It freaked me out because I could not open my hand and could not move it to the left. I could move it to the right just a fraction but the pain up my arm was scary. I immediately thought of you. Now, its not shooting pain but I still have a bit of limited movement. Been icing all day. Steve says its because I've been typing too much. The sad part is - he may be right. I've typed more in the last week since booking than the whole month prior to booking. :rotfl2:

Get better soon!

BTW, stopped by Tar-jay and ended up going a bit overboard on candy - ended up picking up a few things for my soldiers - ended up spending about $100 on candy! :scared1: I think I may :faint: To tell you how nervous I am about telling Steve, I've COOKED :scared1:  2 home cooked meals this week alone! :rotfl: SERIOUSLY! :)
