I'm done doing the "car thing" for the weekend. DD and I just came back from the Acura dealer where we went to test drive the RDX. Let me tell you I left there :furious: :furious: Before I rant I will say that we've been to the Mazda, Honda and Lexus dealers and this has never occurred so perhaps that is what got me - I wasn't prepared for it.

It takes a lot to make me personally really angry. Typically if someone is mean to another that will get me in protection mode of them but to make me livid about something done to me specifically...I have a long fuse. One thing that is guaranteed to tick me off is disrespect and add bad service. Oh Boy! It is a HUGE pet peeve of mine especially in a place where they are looking to take a significant amount of my dollars. I'm not about "treat you like crap you are lucky to be here" service.

I went into the Acura dealership with DD and we are walking around - no greeting etc. That is ok - I don't like hovering. So we walk around the showroom. Now mind you a guy came in after us and the receptionst went over to help. Still okay - so after 5 minutes I approach her about the MDX because the one in the show room has a big SOLD sign displayed. She said we could go see the interior of that RDX. I said are you sure (because frankly if I bought a car I wouldn't want anyone else sitting in it). So fine we go over to the car - doors locked. Okay - walk back over to the receptionist to inform her the car is locked and she says "Oh yeah, they do that sometimes when the car is locked" I'll see if I can get someone to help you.

One sales guy (he looked liked Rod Steiger playing the man in the movie In the Heat of the Night without the stogie) comes by her and she says "Excuse me, Rod Steiger look alike guy" do you have time to.." He looks over at me and actually makes eye contact and says "No" turns his back and moves on. I'm shocked. Not because he could have been busy but that he was so rude. He went back and sat at his desk. Then she asked another guy - same thing.
yikes.gif
She then approaches some other guy who asks what I am interested in - I tell him and he says the RDX' are out back and FINALLY a quasi apology "Some of the sales reps are busy and if you would like to go out back someone would be with you in 10 minutes" 20 minutes later we walk back into the main show room and I see a couple getting out of their car walking in front of us walk into the showroom and approach the same receptionist and I hear the guy say "We were just driving by and decided to stop and check out the new RDX" She immediately walked them over to a sales person.
eye-popping.gif

At that point I was furious.
censored.gif
If my daughter had not been with me I would have firmly (hopefully) politely given them a piece of my mind. I was I think so flabbegasted I stood there and the whole thing was probably the most inconceivable thing I have never ever had happen to me. I stood there shocked.
raincloud.gif
Walking out the showroom, I called DH on my cell and said "Where is another Acura dealer? You will never in a million years believe the most rude, ignorant service I have just received.

The thing that stinks is there are not a lot of Acura dealers around here. There are 4 I think. I looked on line and saw one in Nashua NH. I would go there before I walk into that showroom again. If I loved the car I would never purchase it from them.

Wow! I've never been to a car lot where there haven't been several salesmen hovering around ready to pounce like vultures. How strange! I'd be angry too!!! I hope you find a better dealership.

:furious:

I would be mad too. We have also had some really rude car sales people before. The last time we went shopping for a car at a dealership was in 2000 and we were 25 at the time. I know we looked young especially in our weekend wear but there were some dealerships that basically refused to talk to us at all. A couple of times they would point us to the brochure rack and that was it! :furious: I think they thought we were just poor college students or something who could not possibly afford a new car. We would be there waiting and another older couple would come in and the sales people would be all over them.

I have had similiar experiences in electronic stores, etc.. when looking at higher priced items. You would think stores would train their sales people to not make such rash assumptions based on a person's looks.

I am doing some more research for a possible 10th anniversary trip for DH and I and I ran across this info on anniversary trips. :rotfl: I know about the traditional paper, cotton, leather type gift ideas but I had never seen one for trips but I found some of them a tad bit amusing. The one big thing I can't decide on is the princess shoes. DD has that shoe thing and she likes the princesses so I can guarantee it would be a huge hit. My biggest concern is that she could not walk in them and would get hurt. The ages say 3+. :confused3 Does anyone else have them? Would a 2 year old be OK with them?
I bought those for my niece for her second birthday. She is now 4. She wears them ALL of the time! They were seriously her most favorite present ever!

OK everyone! Take a deep breath! We are going to have a major change to our cruise planning on the ship.

Are you ready?

This thread discusses the change that has been made in the schedule. Now that The Magic can dock in Cozumel, it isn't leaving until after 10 pm. They cannot do fireworks in port so it has been switched to Tuesday night. :(

WA WA WA WHAT????? But...what about my planning!!!!

Just catching up, but I got a GREAT deal today . . .

Tuxedo, shirt, tie, and cumberbund (I may buy a vest) for $125 (tax included)!

Went to Value City and was shocked that I could buy one for as cheap as I was renting.

Tell Mike Lisa - I am now OFFICIALLY wearing a Tux on formal night.

WOW Lisa that is big news. :sad2:

Thankfully the only thing we had was Flounders reservations for that evening and that can probably be changed and if not then we will just deal with it. Those with Palo reservations are the ones this will really effect.

I do also wonder if they kept 80s night on Tuesday night with Pirate Night and Twice Charmed. That would be way too crazy! :sad2:
I am a little confused. So when do we now dress for pirate night?

DisneyVegas1 said:
Tuesday Night was what we had ressies for Palo ....Holy Moly ...this is going to screw things up cause we probably wont get Palo now ...Dang it ...im trying to keep it clean right now ....smoke is coming out of my ears ...

pirate:
:grouphug: That stinks...I hope you can get it changed!

Someone from last week's DD reported that their Pirate Night was on Wednesday with a (9:30 all aboard time for passengers). The party went on as timed and with fireworks.....

Guess maybe those of you with Tuesday Palo ressies may need to take a sit and wait on this one..... :confused3

wow - that's cold. I am sitting around in my swim suit. I actually got fried and was only out for about an hour. I have been multitasking, cleaning, packing, laundry, football........fun stuff!

Yeah, well, today it is 46 outside now, dreary, raining off and on, and a STRONG wind blowing. Taking the dog outside is a cold adventure.

We may also get snow tonight.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr . . .

John - what a great bargain on the tux.

Of course the TE I traded with DH just scored. He owes me big.

Watching the Corpse Bride. I haven't seen it before. I like it!

When is the Next DD ...that will actually give us a fer shure idea ...I know that staying in Coz a little longer would be great but switching the Pirate Party to Tuesday stinks for us ...lol

The ONLY reason I can stand car shopping is that I get the employee pricing because of my Dad working at Ford. No haggling, etc. - and I have a good raport with one salesman who does not give me any hassle.

I went looking this time just for the heck of it, and while not the nightmare like above - I had some similarities. Too bad you could not still find a way to give them a piece of your mind even with your daughter there.

Browns are playing the Broncos, and I am GLAD I am not at the stadium today. Besides losing, it looks DREARY and COLD. The wind is blowing kicks every which way.

Oh, and BTW Carla - before you get in trouble . . .

BREAK UP LONG POSTS!

If they phase out the Pirate Party I will have a hissy fit!!! It's one of the highlights I've been looking forward to!
I have 4 pirate costumes that WILL be worn on this cruise!

 Why do some people have to be so negative? There is someone over on the main board complaining about kids being allowed to play Bingo on DCL. Come on...it is BINGO! I have never seen a "raucous" game of Bingo on DCL and if I ever encounter one I bet good Bingo money that it would be from a group of over imbibing adults!

John since you have not been here very much today I figure you can respond to each suggestion individually. I was just trying to think of you. :thumbsup2
