Churro Waffles- Concierge Only?

I don't think the food on DCL is bad. Overall I very much enjoy the DCL food. I think "bad" can be very subjective. Of course, there have been a couple of meals that weren't my favorite, but I honestly don't think I can say I've ever had a "bad" meal on DCL.
Ok, good.

Absolute best advice is if there is a problem with your serving team or food, speak with the head waiter for your section ASAP. This would apply to things like cold food, slow service, etc. They want you to be happy and will do what they can to fix the issue. If nothing changed after speaking to the head server, escalate it to the dining room manager or head of food and beverage. But they can't fix what they don't know about. And after the cruise it's too late for them to do anything about it.

Can it be a pain to take time out from your trip to discuss things? I suppose. But I'd think the time spent would be well worth it to not have those issues the whole cruise.

I'm not worried about the food, but if it is cold, then theres a problem. I'm on the Fantasy, so I'm hoping it wouldn't be as bad as the reviews I have read from the Wish class ships.

There are good and bad reviews from all of the ships/ship classes. As noted, it's a lot more to do with the serving team than the ship itself. For what it's worth, I've been on Wish class ships 3 times now and never had an issue with cold food.

Of course, there will always be misses-DCL isn't perfect (no cruise line is). But I've been on 11 Disney cruises and the only dining-related issue I've ever had is an overeager server (we didn't eat in the MDR a few nights because we had a concierge 1bd and had food in our room-our server worried we weren't showing up because of something he did, despite our assurances it had nothing to do with the serving team but rather that we just wanted to take advantage of our perks).

You are more likely to hear about the negatives than the positives, which is why I shared what I shared. For everyone less-than-great experience there are a lot of positive ones. I personally wouldn't worry about it.

^^^. This. They can not read your mind. And don't be shy. We speak up. We let our servers know we don't always eat dessert, we go to Palo, we sometimes feel like just snacking or doing room service. We let them know if we are enjoying their service, or if there is something wrong. Only one time I did not- we decided to go for sit down breakfast on a sea day. Not our regular serving team. It was pretty awful. And stone cold. I should have sent it all back. I can't blame them, since I did not speak up. Is every meal my favorite, not always. But overall, and I am a picky, home cook-I find it to be fine. I did not have to prepare it, serve it or clean up after. I get to relax. That makes it taste even better. LOL. Everyone has their own taste and preferences. I just spent two weeks on a B2b Fantasy cruise. No worries.

So now we have reports from both the Maiden and the the 4 night Thanksgiving cruise (back at port tomorrow morning) that the Destiny is no longer serving churro mickey waffles except for those guests who are concierge (offered in the concierge lounge).

What do you think about this? Do you think the Destiny will eventually join the rest of the fleet offering churro mickey waffles on the final full day or do you predict that they will be come a concierge only perk moving forward?
One more reason not to book the Destiny.

What do they expect? Awful theme.
Agree. Hate Marvel. Dislike the Wish class ships overall. Would only sail the Destiny to try the Lion King restaurant. And not sure I want to eat there enough to overcome everything else about the Destiny.

Current information has it that churro mickey waffles are indeed available for all guests.

I think the Heros\ Villains theme is great... so much Marvel focused? Not so much but thats just me
The only Marvel things which I noticed that were different to other ships were:
- Black Panther statue in atrium
- Themed bar which you wouldn’t know was Marvel related unless you already knew
- Marvel adult show (this one I’m not sure would be funny if you didn’t know the Marvel movies)
- Loki as a full time character on the ship + he has two 15ish min shows along with the m&g

Most of the other villain things are not Marvel related. The atrium other than the statue isn’t heavy Marvel theming. 3/4 of the villains they have on the ship are not Marvel. They have two Marvel characters (other than Loki) for m&g but they are on all the ships now. The main show in Worlds of Marvel is the Celebration of Heroes which is 80% 80s music and then some trivia on the screens, which is much less Marvel IMO than the OG show.

I will say that it’s princess lite compared to the other ships - there are very few princess m&g outside of Royal Gathering.

I just got off the Destiny, and it was not busy at all. They didn't do a matinee for Hercules, and the first show still had empty seats. Plus the MDR had multiple empty tables (I got a solo table, at a 6 seater)
What do they expect? Awful theme.

I think it was a bad time of year to launch a new ship more than anything else. If I'm going to go on a cruise in Nov/Dec I am going to want to be on a Merrytime sailing. With the Destiny not doing Merrytime cruises - which I get, they want to feature the new ship's unique themed entertainment - I think it probably prevents people from booking this ship until after the holidays.

I find the Merry time offerings to be pretty sparse. Tree lighting, Meet Santa, and Storytime with Mrs. Claus. Its very limited. I am always surprised they don't have a deck party like Halloween and Pixar\Marvel do.

I would love a Christmas deck party with fireworks instead of Pirate Night during Merrytime! During COVID in late 2021 they did have a very short Christmas firework display instead of a pirate fireworks.

Or both! Marvel and Pixar historically had both (some MDAS this year are losing their pirate night fireworks)
