OMG -- don't you have IKEAs in FL?

It's Swedish-based.......furniture, household items, room design, kids' furniture, linens, towels, plants (seasonally), lights, pictures, decorations, play room for the kiddos while Mom shops, great cafe with yummy-delicious Swedish meatballs (and other stuff) and possibly THE best chocolate bars on the planet.

I may have to go there this afternoon after writing all that! :lmao:

Ok we have three or four IKEAS within a 1 hour drive of here, do ya want one?

Speaking of a good hamburger....do we want to try to get a Five Guys mini-meet set up?

(I guess that wouldn't be keeping with the new Disney healthy line, though.) :rotfl:

and where could we get 5 guys?......Hmmmm :rolleyes1

Karen said she's up for it.... Pick a couple days/times that would work and let us know.... I have a couple events on the weekends here and there but much time open.......

Caught up again and gotta go. Double and triple drats.....with the next big milestone just around the corner, too.

Good luck to all ye pirate: pirate: out there!

Bye! Happy posting!

Same with us.

Fall baseball ends this weekend for the boys. :cheer2: So, just about any Saturday is open 'til basketball starts (early December-ish). I'll look at the calendar tonight.

A mini-meet at Five Guys! Whoo hoo! :yay:

Wasn't that your original plan PJ? Sorry your DM didn't get the job. :guilty:

Yeah, it was the plan back in March, but then things are so much fun with this group we had hoped, if she got the job, to switch to 12/01/07. But alas that is not to be and we will be doing Halloween on the Magic instead.

Hey, how cool is this: my oldest DS is still pictured on another website about Disney (can I post this here?).

If you go to: http://allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mk_merlin.htm, he's in the pictures for the-then Sword in the Stone ceremony! Seems like a million years ago!

Where has my little boy gone?! (He's now 10 1/2 and just rolls his eyes when I remind him of this.)

How cool is that? :) Have you saved the page yet?

Just a warning to my fellow geeks:
You know you've been trying for the pirate: posts too much when you find that you're driving the car, glance at the odometer, see that it's at 68,022 and immediately think: "Aww, how'd I miss the pirate: ??"

oh - I hadn't heard about that either. That must have developed in chat?
Does that apply to late dining as well. Do we need swords etc.? or just the flags for this activity?

I will stand behind Angie, Tana and Caroline in case we get pelted with dinner rolls.

elaine

Yes, that was from chat several weeks ago. Though we will do this in early dining....the Captain & crew will be coming to late dining to seize his fellow pirates for the group picture in the atrium at 8:30. pirate: There will be no excape!

I like a good hamburger every once in a while and a bag of chips. When you are walking an average of 13 miles a day in a Disney park, you can use a few extra calories.

I mean are they eliminating Mickey ice cream bars too?

Why don't they get rid of those disgusting turkey legs. and fried chicken fingers - the kids menus are really horrible.

I think what they need to do is to provide options. Not force feed their version of a healthy diet to people.

They used to give you a choice of any side item on the menus - when we were just there, for counter service- they had many meals that had no choice. so you were forced to get the main item with a side you wouldn't eat - like fries. didn't make sense.

Are they eliminating red meats from the restaurants too?

it will be interesting to see what happens.

elaine

NO!!!!!! Not the chicken tenders!!!!!! We have to choose our dining options by if the place serves them or not. That is the ONLY thing that DS will eat at WDW.

Busy server - geesh!!! Don't they realize some of us have goals around here?!

BTW quick DD update while I am online.

She did really well with the drops until this morning when she finally figured out that when we come to her with the dropper it is never a good thing. Her eyes looked much clearer this morning just a real little bit of crusty stuff in the corner after sleeping for 12 hours so I figured she was OK. The daycare called just before her 9:00 dose and told me that her eye was a little weepier than they would like but they would clean up her eye, give her the drops and see how she did. They said they would call back if they noticed anything and so far no phone call so hopefully whatever it was cleared up quickly.

Now I just have to worry about the rest of us!

I had pink eye the first day of eighth grade. After going to the doctor I went right to school. He told us that it wasn't contageous once you could tell you had it.

OK, now that most of the moms have weighed in, and had the chance to have their fun . . .

My object in posting was not sympathy, or to get you all riled up. Hopefully you all had fun reading what incredible dorks we guys can be, and how changed our world has become from that of our fathers.

And on behalf of Dads everywhere . . . a little secret . . . it is no longer just the mom's world . . .
(let them keep thinking that if they want to - it's more peaceful that way)

BTW - where are all my guy friends? Too chicken to come to my defense? :rolleyes1

I for one enjoyed reading your tale....and laughing thinking I sure am glad that didn't happen to me today. ;) It's nice to share days like that with other parents. It helps me to feel that I am not so alone in this crazy life.
