Hey John,

I'm still catching up on posts....am sure others have replied to this by now.....but let me just add, on behalf of all Moms everywhere, welcome to our world! :lmao:

OK, now that most of the moms have weighed in, and had the chance to have their fun . . .

My object in posting was not sympathy, or to get you all riled up. Hopefully you all had fun reading what incredible dorks we guys can be, and how changed our world has become from that of our fathers.

And on behalf of Dads everywhere . . . a little secret . . . it is no longer just the mom's world . . .
(let them keep thinking that if they want to - it's more peaceful that way)

BTW - where are all my guy friends? Too chicken to come to my defense? :rolleyes1

I only worked in corporate libraries - so we never had to throw anyone out. LOL. didn't mean I didn't want to.

I think with public pc's if no one is waiting to use the computer, that the time limit doesn't apply. everytime Charlotte arrives the library can record it as another patron using their services for that day. Your tax dollars pay for the facility.

Happy DISing.
Well I for one am glad to see tax dollars FINALLY being spent on something useful! DISing!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Well it went ok..... Almost didn't get there though...Didn't you here about that wreck this morning that closed East bound 70... (My appt was up near 83) It took us an hour to go between MM 82 and 87.... So i was about 45 minutes late. They still fit us in after a short wait.....

I really won't know outcome of my visit until later in the year..... Can't wait :hourglass .

Yes, i did wave in your direction, Brack  but i couldn't come for lattes..Had to get back to work....

Elaine, how would you handle our Charlotte?? ;)

I'm really innocent. Just sit here quietly, DISing......with the occasional snort (dancing banana Saturday  )......otherwise, no problem to anyone, whatsoever. :surfweb:

Yowser, you were caught in THAT mess?!? I did hear about it.

The past few weeks in Baltimore, Bruce Willis was in town to shoot scenes for the new "Die Hard" movie. DH said it took him over 1 1/2 hours to get across town for an appointment one day. In hindsight, he could've walked faster. (Or crawled faster.) :rotfl:

I do not miss commuting.

I do not miss commuting.

I do not miss commuting.

Me either...... It was like a bad flashback to my 270 days.....

The funny thing was the traffic report said two left lanes of 70 east closed....but duhhhhh there are only 2 lanes at that point..... The sho0uld have said road closed.... At that point it looked to late to bail out onto 144 also because everyone else had that idea....

Just remember guys, you want to come to my safehouse and have a beer, you have to pay your dues . . .

Admission is not free, or without consequence.

A friendly reminder from the top safehouse Banana!

oh - I hadn't heard about that either. That must have developed in chat?
Does that apply to late dining as well. Do we need swords etc.? or just the flags for this activity?

I will stand behind Angie, Tana and Caroline in case we get pelted with dinner rolls.

elaine

Flags, swords, poles, tables...all are involved....

Ask CAPT Todd, but we're supposed to jump on the tables and yell...sword fighting optional...flags should be waived ...around the DR in procession before the meal and at the end....cutting food with swords gets bonus points with the good Captain.

...have I forgotten anything?

Me either...... It was like a bad flashback to my 270 days.....

The absolute worse commuting day of my life was many years ago when the Air Florida plane crashed off the 14th Street Bridge....AND there was an underground Metro subway train crash.......AND there was a HUGE snowstorm.....all at the same time.

Biggest mistake on my part -- and many thousand other commuters -- was attempting to head home. :sad2:

I was living in one of the Northern Virginia suburbs at the time.....it took me almost 10 hours to make a commute that took about 1 hour. People abandoned their vehicles on the side of I-95 because they either 1) ran out of gas or 2) couldn't negotiate the exit ramps (which are surprisingly steep and slippery in ice/blizzard conditions). We should've all chipped in for a hotel room (we were young/broke) and stayed put.

That's why FEMA's emergency preparedness plan back then used to made me laugh. At one point, their official plan in case of a nuclear attack was to evacuate people according to their license plate #'s. If you had an even number, you were to leave town on the hour. If you had a plate ending in an odd #, you were to leave town on the half hour. :lmao:

Artist: Rufus Wainwright
Song: He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows when
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

It ws sung by Neil Diamond, Cher and the Hollies.

Thank you Brack, you are the lyrics whiz!! I am relieved that it is a song and I didn't just make it up in my imagination.

Hey, how cool is this: my oldest DS is still pictured on another website about Disney (can I post this here?).

If you go to: http://allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mk_merlin.htm, he's in the pictures for the-then Sword in the Stone ceremony! Seems like a million years ago!

Where has my little boy gone?! (He's now 10 1/2 and just rolls his eyes when I remind him of this.)

How cute! But what did I read? They stopped the ceremony??? :confused3
