Congrats on the new Nephew!!!! :yay:

I wonder if that is why Mom didn't want to be induced - because she didn't want to mess with the IV, etc.. I know when I went in to have my kids I was almost as terrified of the IV as anything else! :faint: I would have gladly skipped that part but I would also not have wanted a mad rush to the hospital.
She was supposed to get an IV...but she didn't have time. The girl who was going to give the IV didn't make it to the room in time. My DSIL was very happy!!!!

IV's don't bother me, but that epidural, it was awful, YUK!

I also was scared of getting an IV with birth! When I had to get the blood test fo our marriage license I made DH go with me. I kept telling the nurse how much I dispised needles and how scared I was. :lmao: :lmao:

But when they told me DD was going to be born, mind you 13 weeks early, I stuck out my arm and told them to do anything they needed to me. Needles don't bother me anymore! :thumbsup2

That's terrible. :( The nurse told DH that I had one of the best epidurals the first time that she had covered. :thumbsup2 I went from contractions a minute apart with back labor to being able to take a nap. :) I didn't feel anything pushing DS out either. It was great with DD too. I have heard some horror stories though...just got lucky I guess.

Good Morning Girls. It's a beautiful day here in PA!!!
It's a beautiful day in GA too! (That's Georgia for you ABC fans)

Exactly!
DH loves turkey and sometimes he needs a turkey and dressing "hit" in the middle of the year.

It is funny that you guys are talking turkey and dressing. I have been craving a big pre-Turkey Day meal lately. I was going to buy a turkey breast and the grocery store and all they had was cajun style. Not what I wanted....oh , well maybe this week and I can even cook it in the crockpot! :)

I was terrified to get an epidural, but was willing if the pain was too bad. Heck, I just wanted something, but labor never lasted long enough.

Me too!!! I told the nurse at the hospital that I didn't like it because it was going to hurt. She said "Honey, do you realize you are here to have a baby today? This should be the least of your worries!"

Once the epidural kicked in everything was OK (except for my nerves). It was getting the epidural that was a problem.

I am going to get my day rolling....enough being a bum. Have a good one!

My niece who is here while DH is in Iraq came up with a plan for me yesterday. He is due to come home end of November/beginning of December at this point. Depending on when, she is thinking I can go down with to Georgia her since I am driving to Florida, so I can take some of her stuff. I might be able to help her look for a place to live (they gave up their housing and are going to rent) if the timing is right. I may just get an extended vacation! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Just catching up before dropping off my car at the shop and going to work. I am feeling better but not great. I still have that choking feeling all the time. :sad2:
