:confused3 I had an IV with both kids. DS was induced but DD started on her own. I ended up getting epiderals with both of them. That was the thing that I was terrified for before DS. It was the first thing that I told them I wanted when I went in for DD. :rotfl: I am a convert! :thumbsup2

I was more terrified of the epidural/spinal each time but the IV was not easy either. With DS I was in the hospital with pre-eclampsia about 5 days before he was born so I got the IV then and it was not easy. They have to poke me over and over with that huge needle to get it in. It is painful! Then with DD they did it the morning I arrived for my scheduled c-section with her. Same thing - I just don't have good veins in my hands.

That's terrible. :( The nurse told DH that I had one of the best epidurals the first time that she had covered. :thumbsup2 I went from contractions a minute apart with back labor to being able to take a nap. :) I didn't feel anything pushing DS out either. It was great with DD too. I have heard some horror stories though...just got lucky I guess.

Yes - mine with DS didn't fully take. I got some relief for about an hour and then nothing! That was so much fun....

My niece who is here while DH is in Iraq came up with a plan for me yesterday. He is due to come home end of November/beginning of December at this point. Depending on when, she is thinking I can go down with to Georgia her since I am driving to Florida, so I can take some of her stuff. I might be able to help her look for a place to live (they gave up their housing and are going to rent) if the timing is right. I may just get an extended vacation! :thumbsup2
What part of Georgia?

Ouch! You sound like my sister!! But try watching them have a hard time getting a needle into your baby! I thought DH was going to punch the one male nurse when he stuck DD12 about 6 times before giving up! :furious:

Actually after the way the kids have been acting lately DH told me he needs to make that certain doctors appointment because he is almost too terrified to price! :rotfl: Notice I said almost..... ;) :rotfl2:

Caroline, now i'm confused.... i'm guessing you meant to say the your niece's dh is the one in iraq. (because why would anyone (meaning your DH) not in the service go there right now)

ok confusion time...now would you drive with DN and then count on DH to get DD's packed and meet you in FL or would you all just go to GA (and would their schools be ok with all those missed days. (i know my dd's school wouldn't.)

Lisa, I have to tell you what happened!! :teeth:

Dina was in bed with DH and I the other morning and I had brought up the cruise. As we were talking, Dina started to say "remember that boy...." I quickly distracted her from the subject!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
