I was going to suggest breaking up the trip too...22 hours is a long way for anyone! :(

FWIW....DD started in with the having to stop every exit or less when we were in DC earlier this year. She seems to be getting out of that habit now...Thank GOODNESS!!!

This is another reason why Sophia travels with MIL to the OBX- one or the other of them has to stop at a rest stop all the time! This way, they can both stop as much as they want!

I am like a commando when I drive. Unless it is night, I am most happy when everyone is asleep (and Amy easily obliges me). I can go for hours and hours without stopping, and HATE stopping! I analyze my average speed, and how long it takes me to get where I'm going, how much gas, etc., etc.. Amy also points out I read lots of roadsigns out loud - so she prefers to sleep rather than listen to my rambling and fanaticism while driving.

At this point, I don't think we could do the 20 hour drive - we would be insane by the time we got there. I used to do the 22 hour drive to my cousin's in Tarpon Springs Fla in one shot - I probably did that at least half a dozen times. But I was young, airfare was out of reach, and I had lots more energy.

Good luck Becka, we will think of you.

Well....my DH just asked if I was soon done....and he is heading into the bedroom... :confused3 wonder what he wants??? Later folks! Have a fun chat.

At their age it should not be an issue about changing the controls. We just kept them out of DS's reach & we were the only ones allowed to touch any of it. The headphones wont work now either at their age....soon though. ;) DD can just enjoy what DS wants to watch. Once DD got to be 3 we made them take turns picking movies.

Our son Alex just decided one day he was going to go potty in the big potty and he was trained. Then one week later we had to drive to NC for vacation. We were a nervous wreck, a mean 12 hours with a newly trained child. So we decided to put a pull-up on him. We kept stopping and he would not go at any of the rest stops and his pull-up was always dry. We finally got to NC and that kid pee'd for like 10 minutes. I am not kidding either. It made my stomach hurt!!

He would also kill me if he knew I was telling this story!!

DD did the same thing at WDW and when I finally made her go, she was so mad at me, just to prove me wrong, she didn't go at all. Then 1/2 hour later we had a little accident.... Hasn't happened since.

Becka,
The two headed motorcycle reminded me of something.
When Star Wars first came out (the first time) my family drove to Fla for a vacation. My little brother spent the whole time pretending the Semi's were Tie Fighters and Blasting them off the road!

For those of you following my Masters class woes....

I got an A...15 out of 15 points on my power point presentation last week.

My presentation for today did not happen. We ran out of time. I must do it tomorrow.

I basically have all of my homework done. I still need to read a chapter in the book! I only have 2 more classes. Tomorrow and Thursday!!!

I have one in the fall...that will be only once a week for the whole semester. That is better than every day for 3 weeks. At least with the once per week you have the entire rest of the week to do your Homework.

I know you guys are probably sick of hearing about it...but thanks anyway for listening!

Good work! :thumbsup2 Considering how much we distracted you here that's a grade to be proud of!

What is it with kids & amusement parks & PTing? LOL! The day before we went to BG in VA for Mother's Day weekend DS4 finally decided to do his thing. I figured that there was no way he would make it thru the weekend. Well....one accident in his pullup because the bathrooms are so far apart...which made him break down in tears. :( He was dry the rest of the trip! :) A month or so later we are getting ready to go to BG again on Father's Day weekend and DS decides to stop doing the poop in the pullup. Not a problem since then. I guess that he gave us some pretty good gifts that year. :lmao:

I think I'm a cool boss....what do you think?

So I have an employee who is away on a business trip. Ususally when someone is away - the others play. I used to be one of those "others". We've "gotten each other" with little jokes all the time. Well this time, the ladies want to completley wrap another person's entire desk in tin foil...we're talking, coffee cup, computer, chair...you name it. So since I'm management and couldn't actually partake in the festivities, I provided an anonymous supply of tin foil to the cause and I'm completley ignoring the sounds of foild being torn off the role as I type.

I think I'm a cool boss...what do you think?

Karen! You are an Awesome boss... not just cool! I wish you were here in Chicago... cus after hearing that one... I want to apply for a job!

:cheer2: :cheer2: YOU Rock!!

Brack,
What made you say "Hmmm. Coffee and cookies at 3AM. That's what I need".

This is the kind of DVD player we were looking at getting where there are two screens attached to the headrests.

Amy - I don;t really go to sleep until after one....I am one of those weirdo's who take FOREVER to get to sleep.....I usually read until I fall asleep....but since everyone is "out" I could hit the local clubs couldn't I?
