FWIW....DD started in with the having to stop every exit or less when we were in DC earlier this year. She seems to be getting out of that habit now...Thank GOODNESS!!!
This is another reason why Sophia travels with MIL to the OBX- one or the other of them has to stop at a rest stop all the time! This way, they can both stop as much as they want!
I am like a commando when I drive. Unless it is night, I am most happy when everyone is asleep (and Amy easily obliges me). I can go for hours and hours without stopping, and HATE stopping! I analyze my average speed, and how long it takes me to get where I'm going, how much gas, etc., etc.. Amy also points out I read lots of roadsigns out loud - so she prefers to sleep rather than listen to my rambling and fanaticism while driving.
At this point, I don't think we could do the 20 hour drive - we would be insane by the time we got there. I used to do the 22 hour drive to my cousin's in Tarpon Springs Fla in one shot - I probably did that at least half a dozen times. But I was young, airfare was out of reach, and I had lots more energy.
Good luck Becka, we will think of you.
