I guess I can tell you guys about my weekend.
It started very early Saturday morning when DD walked into the living room, tripped and landed face first in the entryway and busted her upper lip. She was really upset and did not want me to clean up the blood so I got blood everywhere while trying to calm her down and get her cleaned up.
We then leave (a little early at around 7:50), get gas and then DH remembers that he forgot to get money out of the ATM so we had to make a detour there. It is a little over 3 1/2 hours to my friends house but DS made us stop every 20 minutes because he would claim he had to go to the bathroom and everytime we stopped it took forever. One time he even went to the bathroom and not 2 miles down the road was all panicky because he had to go AGAIN! We really thought he couldn't possibly but he was doing the little dance so we pulled over again and he really did have to go.

Of course then other times he didn't have to go but just wanted to stop. We could never tell if he really had to or not so we had to stop everytime he said he had to go.
About an hour from my friends house we hit some construction but nothing too bad although it did slow us down a little and then we smelled it. DD really needed a diaper change. I was not thrilled that we had to stop again but this could not wait. The only place to stop was a truck stop. Well I go to get DD out of the seat and her diaper had exploded!!!! OMG! It was up her back, in the car seat, it was just everywhere! We managed to get her inside only to find a tiny women's restroom with NO changing table and NO counter space. I had to put her changing pad on the floor and try to get her cleaned up! It was NOT FUN!!!!! It took us forever to get her changed and get the seat cleaned up enough.
By this time the kids were getting crabby because they were hungry but we didn't want to stop to eat because my friend was holding lunch for us. We finally made it and we were all so glad to be out of the car.
Our visit was great. The kids had fun and us adults and we stayed up until 2:30 playing Mexican train dominoes! We had a blast - helped along with a few strawberry pina coladas.

We finally got to bed and then DD was up by 6:40 so we were really tired but we knew we would be. With such a short trip it was worth it because we got to spend time with our friends that way.
We figured we would leave in the late morning and hopefully the kids would take a nap on the way home (and so could the one who was not driving). We really figured all our bad luck had to have been on the way down, right? Well we left her house and the kids did fall asleep but after about 45 minutes we needed to stop for gas and we thought we would just grab something to eat while we were at it. The gas station had a Taco Bell next door so we grabbed some food realy quick and ate in the car. The food was not that great but we were hungry and knew we would not have another chance to eat for a while so we went ahead and finished it.
We got back on the road but this time neither of the kids would go back to sleep. They were not being too bad but they were starting to get fed up with being in the car for so long. I was driving at the time and although I knew were I was going I did not remember the exact exit number we needed to take off I-44 to hit MO-5 in Lebanon. I knew we were getting fairly close when we saw that I-44 was closed off and they had a detour on Highway N. OK so I was paying attention but never saw any signs so we get on N and the detour is a lot longer than I expected. It is very slow moving and it takes us a while but we finally get back on I-44. After a few minutes DH sees the next exit and it is for MO-7. He looks at the map and gets confused. The next thing I see is that we are almost in Waynesville right by Ft. Leonard Wood where my Dad was stationed and were I graduated high school. Well that is great but Lebanon is a good 20 miles back in the other direction!!!! At this point I realize that the exit with the detour must have been really close to the exit I needed to take. From looking at the map I think the detour was at exit 128 and exit 130 was the exit I needed to take.
Rather than back tracking we decide to continue about 30 more miles up I-44 to Rolla and hit Hwy 63 back home. It will take us a little bit longer but we know the way and we hate to backtrack at this point. About 5 miles down the road the kids are getting restless and we see the sign: BRIDGE WORK AHEAD
1 HOUR DELAY!!!!! You have to be kidding right? There was no way I was sitting on the interstate for AN HOUR with those kids in the car. Can you imagine how many times DS would have to go to the bathroom?
We pull off and start looking at the map. We can still head back to Lebanon or DH thinks it might be faster to take some of the backroads home. We can take 33 to Dixon and then hit 133 up to Westphalia which is about 40 miles south of home. I am not entirely sure because we don't know these roads but DH thinks it will be faster and it is better than staying on I-44. We start that direction and while it is pretty it is in the middle of the country. DD is starting to pitch a fit and needs constant attention because she is tired of her seat. I kept trying to turn around to deal with her but because of the lovely curvy, hilly country roads I am getting viciously car sick!
DH and I are exhausted, the kids are crabby and I finally had to just let DD cry because I go so sick trying to keep her entertained. We finally get to Hwy 63 and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. The kids finally start to get tired and appear to start looking sleepy and then DH starts complaining that his stomach is not feeling so good and he is (warning: TMI ahead) having really bad gas all while trapped in the car. We did finally manage to get home but by that time DH was not in great shape and immediately had to go straight the bathroom and spend some significant time getting sick.
Now you guys know why I was in such a great mood the other night when we got back! I am really having doubts about our trip to Florida but we have to get there somehow and flying (so far) is so expensive. DH insists we will be buying a DVD player to help entertain the kids before we go or he is not going!
