Sophia should be landing soon...phew! I bet you are glad.

All of my crazy ebay posting last week....mean....TONS of ebay packing and shipping this week.....:headache: . Such is life....I guess I better get my bum packing...

As for the large boxes and small items...not me....what I ship...just fits in the box!
I was behind someone who had two huge green hefty trash bags filled with things she was mailing - I assumed ebay. I was at the post office 24 machine first but didn't rush to it because I thought she had laundry or something so I didn't rush in. Finished my taping etc. Little did I know. She kept saying "I'm so sorry" I wanted to say "Not sorry enough that you didn't rush ahead of me or let me mail my three boxes to the same address thank you very much"

Okay caught up since I read last -

John I hope today was a better day and tomorrow is much better.

Harry Potter partoes in all of the stores here for the midnight launch. I never could get into the first book so I have not read the series (however now I want to try again go figure). I will be at the event at our local store though..why? Well having a store open until midnight means I can browse until then - browse for hours in a bookstore or card store - heck that is BLISS.

Another trip to the post office today...then I guess I will hit up a few yard sales...aahhhh..fun fun fun!!!!

Now that is just rude!!! :( When I ebayed the kids were little and I did the postage and labling at home. Our mailman was great and would pick up anything that I put out there.

Today the weather was miserable John. I still don't know what the deal was with the delay. I told Isabella that Sophia was in Boston and she got all excited until I continued saying "last night, at the airport on a connection home" The ohhh just hung in the air. I almost didn't tell her. She then started asking about her. Wondered about Kaitlyn and the fact that she and Sophia got to see each other. Then she asked about Savannah and pined that it was unfortunate she didn't get a chance to spend time with Savannah and how unfortunate it was we were on the wrong side of the beach...OY.

Kaitlyn was so excited when I told her that in December not only will she get to see Sophia again but she will see Bella too! :cool1:

William and I were there at the BAM. :) He was dressed up complete with glasses. I took pictures and will try to remember to upload them tomorrow so that I can share. :) He enjoyed it quite a bit and we read the first 1 1/2 chapters to each other when we got home. Thanks to a little bit of melatonin he is about to go to sleep and tomorrow he will get it a lot earlier to get him back on a decent schedule.

Just needed to add that starting to read the 7th book is a bit like jumping into a mine field for us. We stopped reading midway through the third book when Mike went off on his internship last year. We have not seen the 5th movie yet...but plan to later today. Since I am going out of order I have to admit that I read the prologue of the book. Now I don't have to be tense worrying about what is going to happen in the end. ;)

Alex went to the HP party at Borders last night. No HP yet for Sophia. We did watch "A Night at the Museum" last night, and while sometimes Sophia gets spooked by anything scary in movies, she liked it. Her imagination is too vivid for anything scary . . .

Today we are going to see Ratatouille . . .

Just a quick note on the job front . . .

After meeting with a good friend who is also an attorney, I have decided to pursue a slightly different tack . . .

I have decided to start a small side solo practice - doing simple things like wills, etc. My goal is to get this off the ground sometime shortly after the first of the year. I want to spend time researching what I will need, and also possibly converting Alex's bedroom once he is moved in for Med school into a small home office. I am not going to aggressively look for any other job, as I decided the prospect of finding something that I will be REALLY happy with and working for someone else is not what I really want to do (of course, I will leave myself open to any incredible offer that may come along). I plan on doing this around my current job on nights and weekends. We'll see how it goes.

I think I will be happier having something I can call my own, and who knows where that could go in the future? I am excited thinking about it, and thought I should have done this a long time ago.

John1, that really is an exciting prospect. We wish you well with it. Working from home would be lots of fun, but I would imagine that after your practice gets built a bit you will need to get an office---just to keep folks out of your home.

A thought, John1. Do you have any interest in Elder Law? You know, splitting estates to protect spouse if one needs nursing home care, etc. As we boomers start aging I would think that field would grow.

That is an excellent idea Angie, and along the lines of what I have been thinking. You would think there is more than enough work in that area around.

Well, if I can get to that point, I may not need my current job, but I am thinking small for now. If it gets to that point, I will be very happy.

I'm sure there is. I have folks come to me alot just worried sick because Dad has to go into a home and they don't want Mom left destitute. I always recommend that they spend a couple hundred just to talk with an attorney about splitting the estate and then go from there. I have not had one come back and say that was not a good suggestion. I know Dennis' grandpa did this when his grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimers. He had all the property put in his name, all the cash assets in hers. She had enough to pay for 2 years in a nursing home and then medicaid kicked in. He then had enough from the properties to pay for his assisted living and nursing home when he needed it. He could not have done this without the help of an attorney that was wise about the needs of elderly folks.

Gotta go clear off the kitchen counters :sad2: . We are going to try to get the wine we made last fall bottled. It has been in the garage in the glass carboys just aging. :woohoo:

Looks like it is just you and me today Angie . . .

I took the girls to see Ratatouille, to McDonalds, and then cut the grass - just ate dinner, and now finally sitting down.

John - Good Luck!!!! I know you will do well with your career. All you need is drive and hard work. Luck really is just icing!
