11-29-08 Nana Heads 3: Tiara Bob & The Dreamboats Reunion Cruise CONT'D THREAD #11!

I posted this on the 09 board and I'll cover my bases here.

Hey Nanafolks! Since everyone is making plans to vacation in 09 and 2010--I'm gonna put this out for anyone who'd like to hang with me and the Woo.
I believe that we're doing an RCCL on Nov. 15, 09. Its a 7 nighter and sails from Puerto Rico (which is like an extra port of call for me)-- St. Thomas, Dominica, Curacao and Aruba. I love Disney and all you nutty nanas but we wanna try new places and see new things. I've always wanted to go to Dominica (they filmed a lot of Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2 there) and I believe this is the chance to do it.

Gimme a write if you want more info but we'd really love some nanas to join us in the adventure (which also happens to be the ship that we're sailing).

Joanna, I'm still working on the Oasis in 2010---I think we'd like to join in and travel with you folks.

Denise - I will differ on others here. Emily actually did BETTER when she was in Flounders than in the Club the first time. She LOVED flounders and they let her "help" watch the babies which made her feel like a big girl. And by helping she was basically just following the teachers around. She would probably keep going to FLounders now if she could. The first cruise she was eligible for the Club - she just wasn't ready. She thought she was going to love it but some of the kids were too rough and she was just a little over 3 and it just didn't work. This past time as a nearly five year old, she loved it. So bottom line is it depends on the kid. I know that GregLA and Stephanie were surprised by how much Wyatt liked Flounders. And the best news is that you can usually get more than the 10 hours allotted especially if your child likes it and is well behaved. We got a last minute Palo booking for dinner and they made room for us. We probably had more adult time on those first 2 cruises when Emily went to Flounders than we do now.

Thanks Jeff and Greg for your input.....I know I have "time" but just trying to feel the waters here. like I said before, out of the baby loop for awhile and I know that when our kids were little we just went to Minnesota and visited my friend who had kids the same age....plus is was only a 9 hour drive then they got to run around on a farm with no streets to worry about. That was my expierence when they were around 2 years old. Which now seem like an enterniy ago....

I may just push the date out until she is a little older....I'm just gonna play this by ear....since I have a lot of time yet.

That's great Bill :thumbsup2 That is a nice itinerary :) Did you tell Shell yet? :lmao:

Yeah, I really want to do the Oasis, but there is an NCL cruise from NY that doesn't look too shabby either. Actually it is a Florida/Bahmas cruise, not such a great itinerary until I started looking at it closer...

Leaves from NY...so that is a port in itself

Then a Sea Day

Goes to Port Canaveral from 10am to 9 pm...where you can do KSC or Disney BUT I think we would do Universal IOA

Then to Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, NCL's private island where we are there from 9am to 6 pm

Then to Nassau from 8 am to midnight, so that calls for a day room at Atlantis so we can spend the entire day into the evening there.

Then to Grand bahama Island from 7am to 2 pm

Then another Sea day
Back to NY where you can have more fun if you want

This itinerary is for Easter break in 2010, but hey you never know I may change my mind Again, after all the day does end in a "Y" :lmao:

DH wants the Oasis, he doesn't care where it goes because that ship is so awesome we can just stay on the ship as an all inclusive :)

Morning Nanas!

Just popping in for a quick hello. Going to be a busy day in Portland. Trying to work so that I don't have to work tomorrow, just travel back home. Travel from Portland to Atlanta is a day of work in itself!:headache:

Hope everyone is having a great week and getting ready for Christmas. And, BTW, I have YET to buy a single Christmas gift!:scared1: Going to be a VERY busy weekend.

Do you think Santa is on the FE list?

'Twas the night before Christmas, and far out at sea
Our vessel was sailing, as smooth as could be

The stockings were hung from the balcony chairs
With hope that St. Nicholas would find them out there

The children were nestled all snug in their uppers
Having just settled down from a Christmas Eve supper

And ma and myself, we were covered in aloe
A bit too much sun, in a pool, warm and shallow

When up in the sky, there arose such a clatter
I leapt from my bed to see what was the matter

To the sliding glass door, I flew like a flash
Well, more like a saunter, and less like a dash

And what to my skeptical eyes should appear
But a great shiny sleigh, and eight flying reindeer

They circled our ship, from starboard to port
As the moon lit the driver, a jolly old sort

Who called to his team, in a happy retort
"Now Dasher, now Dancer," so on and so forth

We raced through our cabin and into the hall
To the very top deck, in time for us all

To be awed by the sight of Old Santa's sleigh
As he lightly touched down, by the midnight buffet

With a bundle of goodies thrown over his back
He rose in the air and dropped down the smokestack

Santa went straight to work, and later we learned
He found every child's cabin, from the bow to the stern

Insides and oceanviews, balconies and suites
Santa filled every stocking, with toys and with treats

Until all his deliveries had been handled with care
Then he noted he still had a minute to spare

So he surfed the wave rider, with nary a fall
While Dasher and Dancer scaled the rock-climbing wall

And Prancer, who had always been fond of the cold
Tried the ice-skating rink, a sight to behold

And then with a whistle, Santa summoned his team
And he bade us farewell, silent nights and sweet dreams

And I heard him exclaim, as he flew out of view
Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good cruise.

I think our biggest problem was all the characters on the ship....she wanted to stand next to them and just stare! :lmao: Didn't want to touch them or be hugged or anything...just stand by and stare. :

Hey! That's what I do with the officers.......only I would like to hug them:rolleyes1

Joanna,
thats a great poem. Thanks for sharing.

well it has rained, snowed, mixed rain and snow and it keeps dropping in temps.

I watched a deer come into the park and nibble on some of the bare grass then disappear upinto the wooded hillside again.
The dogs hate the rain and wont go out until they have NO choice but will leap out into the snow.

Hope everyone is having a good day:cool1:

LisaRae ... you're going to Kim's house? When? Will the other BFFs be there? Why wasn't I invited? Will it snow there? Will there be alcohol?

I feel your pain, BFF. It's just like when Christine went to Disneyland and didn't tell anyone :sad1:

I know, I remember that and you'd think Christine would have been so excited about going to Disneyland that she would have told us she was going every other post, but NOPE never heard a word from her. I bet Kim hung out with Christine a little too much on this cruise and that is why this is the first we are hearing of her party. :sad1:

Kim's having a party???? How come I wasn't invited? :sad1:

I'd crash Kim's party if I knew I was invited to come to her house sometime.

Hey Everyone..

I gotta get back on that Ship....
