11-29-08 Nana Heads 3: Tiara Bob & The Dreamboats Reunion Cruise CONT'D THREAD #11!

Hi. Just wanted to say HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We really enjoyed cruising with all of you! I have been so bust since we returned. I don't think another cruise so close to Christmas is in my future. I may have to cancel the one for next year. I really want to do RCCL too!

Hope you all had a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hi Nanas:banana:   Hope everyone had a good Christmas. We have been really busy with family from out of town. Today we are staying in and having a lazy day for a change.

Please pray for my Mom tomorrow as she has to have a thoracotomy - lung surgery. She went to see the lung specialist last week, and he said he saw something that has to come out. She just finished chemo from a mastectomy before we went on the cruise. Her hair hasn't even grown back in yet. We are all really nervous about it this time; probably because it just seemed to happen so quickly, and we haven't had time to get used to the idea. I don't know how much of the lung they will take out, so I have no idea how difficult the recovery is. She has been through a lumpectomy on one breast, a mastectomy on the other, two ovarian cancer surgeries (with one recurrence that could not be operated on, but required a year of chemo treatments.) So she is a really strong person, but everyone has their limit.

Specifically, please pray that it is right for her to have this surgery (she didn't have much time to decide.) Also please pray that the doctors will be guided in their decisions and in their procedures and techniques. Please pray for my mother's body to respond well to the anesthesia and to maintain all the correct functions during and after the surgery. And please pray for her nerves, for peace and assurance that she will be okay, as she is so scared.

Thanks to all you Nanaheads in advance!

Lisa, I promise to send many, many prayers her way. I'm so sorry to hear she's facing this after being through so much. Prayers are sent for you, too. It's obvious you love her very much so I know the stress on you is great. :flower3:

Hi there. I'll have Steve check his email later today. I don't think our home email or his work email could be full, but I may be wrong. Did you guys send it to both email addresses? Home is lkyle@cfl.rr.com and his work is stephen.t.pantano@nasa.gov. You can also try mine lisa.r.pantano@nasa.gov

Hopefully one of them will work.

Hi Lisa-I think my pictures did go through to Steves work email. I only got your home emails returned. Please let me know if you guys do not get our pictures. Thanks:goodvibes

Lisa- I will be praying:hug:  I will be thinking of you guys tomorrow. I am so sorry your mom is still battling with this:guilty:

For those of you not on facebook and those I don't have email addresses for, I wanted to update you on my mom's situation. She did fine in surgery. They took out her middle lobe of the right lung. The doc thinks the cancer metastized from the ovarian cancer, but he won't know for sure until he gets the pathology report. She had a chest tube yesterday, but they took it out today. They want to send her home tomorrow, but I know she is worried about going too soon. Her doctor leaves on vacation tomorrow, and that worries her too. I can tell she is in a lot of pain, but she doesn't want to push that pain med button. The doctor and nurses keep telling her to push it, and not try to be so brave. (I would have that button taped down on a continuous flow!!) please continue to keep her in prayer for healing and for the chemo she will probably have to get. (she just finished chemi for the breast cancer on October 28. Not much of a break!)

And thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers. We are so blessed to have this extended family of friends.
God bless you guys.

Thankfully the first part of it went so well. Tell mom HIT THE BUTTON! Now sending warm thoughts for her swift and complete recovery.

Lisarae,
that is a good possitive update. Thankyou.
Your mom sounds like a very strong woman and thats what she needs to be to get through this.
Please keep us updated as things progress and I agree with Linda and the doctors, tell mom to push that button so she can get some rest. She needs that so her body can put all its energy towards healing not coping with the pain.
It will make a difference. I know from personal experience.

Kathy

I have been pretty good, now that all the snow is gone.
It was hard to stay warm in an RV. They have no insulation and no carpeting in ours.

I have been living in long underwear and sweats over them with boots and 2 pairs of socks on all day long. More when I had to go out.

Now its around 45 most days, so I feel better.

Jimmy says thanks for the card:lmao:

Going to DD's house for a late gift exchange tomorrow, should be fun.

Thats all around here lately.

Looks like Greg will get laid off the end of January,no work. If so we may head back to Florida in February.
