Hi Jaime,

I enjoy Arizona during the winter, but in the summer you'll never catch me there unless its in the Flagstaff area!

The Grand Canyon is awesome! We took a helicopter flight over it the last time we went 2 years ago and would highly recommend doing!

Like Jeff we don't spend much time in Phoenix, but prefer Tuscon and Sedona.

We are going in April...since we should still have a lot of snow here...it's our favorite time to go away because the snow is usually all gone when we get back!

Did you takes the kids on a helicopter tour?? Do you think they would be scared? We are just trying to get some idea of what to do for the 10 days. We are thinking we'll spend 4-5 days in Phoenix and the rest elsewhere. We going to a NBA game and Glen is going to Nascar but besides that I have no idea...Dad mentioned a house boat or renting a RV too...but I am not fimilar with the area at all and Dad is always working so he's looking forward to having the time off to explore.

Jaime, I admire your courage if you do a helicopter tour! I am terrified of copters.

They do have that new walk out area there where you can walk out over the grand canyon and look down through the clear plexi glass and see the canyon. Maybe the kids would like that?

You walk on plexiglass?? You would not pay me enough to that!!!! I would get on a helicopter any day!

ever consider going to South Dakota for sight seeing?
They have Mt. Rushmore
Deadwood City
Chief crazy horse monument
Bedrock city (flintstones)
Custers battle field
old steam engine rides
assorted ghost towns. These are great with wild west shows, stage coach rides and more.

Boot Hill with REAL famous old west people burried there.
go into the North for the Badlands
Plus on one border are some great dinosaur digs.
Plus more.

I'm with you. I would NEVER walk out on that clear platform but it is really popular since they finished it last year.
Some indian tribe owns it. I can't remember the name of it. It is really a neat thing but its not for me.
Heights make me dizzy!!

It is really foggy today. I could barely see how earlier. Now I can see to the road but thats all. I do see a tiny white poodle being walked but thats it.

Never really considered it but it sounds really neat! Airfare really hits us hard from here...it usually cost at least $2000for the 4 of us to fly anywhere and that is a seat sale...the average is $3600 and if we drove it is a 14 hour drive and 14 hour ferry one way just to get of the island not to mention it would cost us $1000.
