Good Morning.

We ended up with a foot of snow. Another storm brewing for tomorrow with artic air. :sad2: Stephanie and Elizabeth leave for WDW in 13 days--believe I can't forget because I'm reminded daily.:headache: Just jealous.

Everyone have a great start of the new week.

Dawn...HOW do you deal with that. It's like you've been buried in snow since you came back from the cruise!
We are suppose to get snow on Tuesday and Thursday again, I guess that means Jeff will have snow also.

Yeah, the airfare is always the problem. I have been lucky enough to use miles a couple of times but not the last 2 or 3 times we have flown. Go to kayak.com and plug in your desired dates and it will give you best fares. We usually fly whatever is cheapest with the best connections. Last time we flew American through Dallas and this time we are doing United through Chicago. Southwest does fly to Honolulu so I'd also keep my eye on that.

Love the United Chicago flight much better than the LA flight. The only problem with United on Kayak is you get the cheapest seats with NO leg room at all. Call United to Upgrade for I think $15 or $20

Hi Greg-We priced out Osasis of the seas. It was really expensive. I think if we cruise in 2010 it will be on the Freedom of the Seas. I will wait until the 2010 dates come out and decide. The one thing I do know is if we cruise it will be during the week of Thanksgiving. I have also been researching Hawaii. The air alone will cost more than a cruise:scared1:

Jeff-If you have any good tips on Hawaii let me know. You can email us. What airline do you usually fly?

My dad's family sailed on the Freedom of the Seas last year and loved it! They highly recommended it to us.

Did you check vacation packages through the airlines for Hawaii? I know our main airline this year is offering packages that include air and hotel for cheaper then just air alone:confused3 If they only offered the packages for cruises:goodvibes

We have a bad storm heading this way on Wednesday..something to do with two different storm fronts:scared1: We got 25cm last night...thought for sure the kids would have a snow day but no luck:confused3 Most of Kierra's class has been sick so I was hoping she wouldn't have to go today.

Has anyone been to Arizona? We are thinking we will go to the Grand Canyon for sure and probably spend most of our time in the Phoenix area. We are looking for some fun activities for the girls?

Hi Jaime. No plans for January. Just get through it. :rotfl: In March we are heading to NYC for the Big East basketball tournament - well that's where I will be, the girls will be shopping, sightseeing, etc. Then DCL and WDW in April, WDW in June and Hawaii in August. Jut need to get through the next 2 months.

We have been to Arizona but not with the kids. However, I have a friend who works as PR Director at the Westin Kierland Resort in the Phoenix area (Scottsdale). The resort has been rated one of the top family resorts in the US. She says it is great for kids and has been trying to talk us in to coming out. We just haven't been able to fit it in.

Arizona is beautiful. We are actually partial to Tucson as it is a college town, with beautiful mountains, gorgeous desert, a great Desert Museum. That being said, we haven't really given the Phoenix area a chance and need to do so. I've been to Phoenix many times on business but never for pure fun.

Good morning everyone,

Alicia i am so happy to hear your feeling better now. Dont do too much at first, ease back to your routine so you dont get a relapse.
Thanks for posting some nanas. we have almost hit our goal for this thread. I am hoping today we will get there.

Kathy

You've all been busy posting today before I got on line.
I had a slwo start today.
Just as I sat down to get on line i had a diaster to clean up.

Pixie was sleeping in my chair where I always sit with my computer, so instead of waking her and making her move I grabbed my computer and sat on the couch across from her.
I still had the power cord attached. BIG MISTAKE!!

I had a hot cup of tea I sat on my table by my chair too.

Well apparently she hear smething and saw it out the window behind me. So in a split second she lunged from my chair and of couse got tangled in the cord and somehow managed to knock over my hot tea onto the floor, rug and a stack of tissues I had for blowing my nose. I have a cold!!

I yelled and jumped up which scared Minnie, so she jumped up and banged into me and Pixie so I lost my balance and hit other things on my table causing them to scatter everywhere including on the spilled tea. UGH!!

of course my clean cloths i just put on got soaked too.
Poor Pixie, she didnt know what she did wrong and my yell and the clatter of things scared her half to death. she was just shaking and cowering in the corner while Minnie tried to help me clean up with her tongue.

so then i had to comfort her too.

What a start to my morning. Ha Ha!!

Jaime,
I have been to Arizonia many times but we only did the Grand Canyon and then drove on to another state. The canyon is well worth seeing. Sunrise is awesome as it hits the one side of the canyon wall too.
South Dakota is my favorite state to visit. There are so many things to see and do there.

Hi Jaime,

I enjoy Arizona during the winter, but in the summer you'll never catch me there unless its in the Flagstaff area! :rotfl2:

The Grand Canyon is awesome! We took a helicopter flight over it the last time we went 2 years ago and would highly recommend doing!

Like Jeff we don't spend much time in Phoenix, but prefer Tuscon and Sedona.

Hi Dawn,
didnt see a rainbow this time but i did see one last weekend. I love the rare double rainbows. we see a lot of them on the Oregon coast for some reason.

Hope the snow has stopped for awhile for you guys.

Sounds like its about time to move back to your home in Florida! :lmao:

I can't even imagine living in my RV during the winter.

Jaime, plans for January.

Just trying to survive and stay warm!
January is not a month to do anything here unless you ski and i dont ski.

Tomorrow I hope to make some cinnamon rolls. It is cold and foggy today but headed for 50 and NO rain all week if they are right. I sure hope the weatherman is right. I could use a dry week and a coupel of days are suppose to hit 60!!

If we do anything this month it will be going to visit family, thats about it.
Boring around here, not even a movie theater near by.
Kathy

Its not so bad. we can spend the weekends counting the icicles dripping off the coach and keep bleaching for mildew around all the windows and door due to the dampness. Lots of fun:lmao:

Of course 2 big dogs trying to stay entertained in such a small area is also alot of fun. Especially when its pouring rain out so your stuck in accept for bathroom breaks;)

This is what makes life interesting and sometimes a lot fo fun though.
we are building memories. Believe me we have had it alot worse than this!!
At least we dont have uninvited guests for dinner:lmao:

Thanks Jeff! We'll be there in April for 10 days. Right now Dad is working in Phoenix and is there by himself in a big home in a golf course gated community. So we'll stay there for our Phoenix time but also want to visit some of the other cities and places in Arizona...I'm going to check out Tuscon online now:goodvibes We are also considering renting a houseboat for a few days but I forget right now where that was??

I've never been to NYC but it looks like a lot of fun!

Hawaii is on our list of places to go but we want to wait until the girls are older since it is so far away from here...just think the flights would be horrible! Where are you going in Hawaii? We have friends who just booked NCL Pride of America Hawaii Islands Cruise...it looks really neat.
