I just sent Shell an e-mail and told her to check the boards and the war is on. I didnt say what war.
I figure that way she will check it out here.

We could get a good battle of the Ducks and Buckeyes before the game.

I really need to do the dishes and get into bed,

This should be fun. My wife is on the phone with my BIL right now giving him congrats on the game. I think he's going to try and get tickets for us at the Rose Bowl!

He's only allotted so many per game, so hopefully he'll get enough for us.

Yeah, I heard about the Rose Bowl this morning on the radio and the first thought that came to mind was, "Oh crap ... here we go again with Kathy ..."

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ... guess it's time for a friendly wager? Course I didn't pay off the last one from the Florida loss, but then again I can't even remember what I bet.

I guess my BIL only gets 6 Rose Bowl tickets and my wife has 5 other siblings that want to go including her parents (who will be going for sure), so that leaves 4 tickets for my wife and her other brothers and sisters to fight over!

I'm a little bummed that I won't be able to go, but I'll get a much better seat here in my family room anyway.

If Janel doesn't end up with a free ticket from her brother I'll buy her one so she can go.

We were sititng here talking during the game saying i wonder who the other team will be? We hadnt heard that and when they announced it, Greg caught it right away and said Hey guess whose team that is?

of course I knew right away. I figured my team stomped you once before so thats a good omen.


I don't remember what the bet was either. I think it was to buy Pat and i drinks and we dont drink so you were safe.

This could be very interesting.

Morning all,
Greg i hope Janel has a fun time. But you couldnt pay me enough to be in that mad house Thousands of people everywhere. I would freak out.

I will have a great seat right here. I will be warm and comfy and have plenty of people to chat with and be able to hear every word they say.

At the game everyone stands up with excitement so you cant sit in the seat you paid for unless you want to miss seeing the game. Thats what i really hate about sporting events and some concerts. Everyone winds up standing up the entire event. I pay to have seat where i can see while sitting.


I know the excitement of being there would probably feel awesome but not enough to have to stand for the whole game accept halftime. My old legs wont do that.

Gotta admire the fans last night, it was 35 degrees by the end of the game.

We were in the 20's last night, all icy this morning.
Next week they are predicitng some mornings in the teens I wanted to drive to visit mom but not in those temps. Out here there would be ice from the fog.

I am sitting here today wrapped ina blanket by the heater to stay warm. Saving on the propane as much as i can. Hate the hassle of buttoning down everything to drive to the gas station to get propane. Wish our tank was removable, it isnt. So I try to stretch it as far as I can.

Both pups are burrowed under their blankets too.
I am asking Santa for a snuggie this year.

I'm with you Kathy, I'll have a much better seat here at home.

My wife's dad called this morning to see if they could stay at our condo in Anaheim because hotels around Pasadena are going for about $400 a night!

I told him sure....I'd only charge him $399 a night! (I'm kidding)

My BIL also called and said that he was going to try and get tickets for both Janel and I. He said each player is only given 6 tickets, but said some players won't have family that can make it and will offer they're tickets to the other players, so they're is still a chance we'll both be going.

The hotels probably get to raise the prices claiming its holiday prices.

Its after 1:00 and only 35 still.
The fog is up enough i could see a small hill in the distance.It was all white on top

Greg said he had lots of ice on his way to town this morning too. He said he had to go really slow. Plus it got colder the farther north he went. It was 22 by the time he got to his moms place. Thats 10 degrees colder than when he started out this morning.


Greg, hope your BIL gets all the tickets he wants. Many do that for graduation of high school too. We have got extra tickets that way too.

Most of our news tonight was about the Ducks and the Beavers.
Guess there must not be much going on in the world today. In Oregon its all about the Ducks and Rose bowl.

They seem to think the Buckeyes are DOOMED!!

At least the weather should be on soon, thats what I am waiting to hear.
Our high was 37 today and down to 35 already.

I am going to invite both dogs to snuggle with me tonight, they are nice and warm. I usually put blankets on the couch when Greg isnt here so they can snuggle in with me.

Yeah, the Duck's seem to be quite unstoppable.

I pity the team that goes up against them.

It's been really cold here too. The sun has been out, but the temperature doesn't get much higher then 30. The nightly lows have been below 0!

I'm gonna hit the hay early tonight. I didn't get to bed until around 4:30am this morning and was up at 7:30am, so I'm running out of steam.

Yes, many times.

Usually I watch some boring TV show and that helps me to nod off. Plus have a warm blanket on me to snuggle into helps while watching the TV. Warm tea to sip on.

Just don't watch the food network or you may get hungry and will want to get up and eat instead of relax to sleep.
Since my moms illness I have missed sleeping all but a couple of hours one night then cant sleep the next night. It happens almost every week.
So I feel for you.

I usually doze off about 4 a.m. and Greg is up at 5, so little good it does me.

Morning all


Well the pups got me up at 5 a.m. to go out. I really miss my house with a fenced on yard and doggie door. They were fast but it was 29 degrees so that sped them up a bit.

I zipped right back into the warm covers and soon felt 2 doggies snuggling under the covers with me.
Pixie warmed my feet really fast, but you gotta watch out for that wet cold nose of hers, its as big as an apple or at least it feels that big!!

Now they are both under their own blankets to help keep warm.
Still only 33 outside.

Greg how cold did you get? Hope it wasnt down to 0 again??

Nothing exciting happening here right now. Everyone is hold up inside trying to keep warm. So I cant even spy on the neighbors

Good afternoon!

It was cold again, but not "as" cold...only down to around 2 degrees. By Tuesday the weatherman said we maybe as low as -4 at night. The high's are in the mid 20's.

We're in the process of getting the kids new beds put together. Holly's bed is up and sheets on it. I ended up getting a new bed for Brayden also because it looked so fun. It's a twin bed that is almost as high as a bunk bed and it has a slippery slide on the side of it.

I just got it all put together and now all the kids are trying out the slide...including Chayce!

I put the matching sheets in the washer to help take the "starch" out of them. Brayden is already asking to take a nap in it.
