They do have some really cute kids beds nowadays. I love the ones that look like race cars. I am sure a slide will be a lot of fun for them. Especailly when its too cold to go outside. You should post a picture of the beds for us to see.

Gosh you guys are having a regular heat wave from the other day

It could be worse, it could have rain which would be ice and snow

We are headed for teens starting tonight with a chance of snow tomorrow morning, which means ICE!!


We are up to 34 right now but we have a strong wind which I didnt know until I stepped outside with the pups a few minutes ago. My face hurt it was so cold. Time to put the ski mask on I guess.

I dont kow what you call it but last year Greg got me the coolest thing. It will drape over your shoulders or across your legs or snuggle your hands under it. You heat it on the microwave for 3 minutes and it stays warm, even hot for about 20 minutes. of course its bright purple. My favorite color.
It weights a couple of pounds and is shaped like a semi circle and goes down to the middle of shoulder blades and over the front of the shoulders.

I have warmed it up so many times the last few days and put it on my feet or my shoulders to warm me up. I love it!!


Nobody is going out here today at all. Almost no traffic on the freeway today accept the semi trucks. I can see it from our place. must have some icy spots in shaded areas or over the rivers and lake bridges.

I'm glad you've got something to help keep you warm. I know I'd hate to spend the winter in an RV! They just aren't insulated as well as a house.

Any news on jobs in Florida? Is the housing market picking up there at all? I hope you don't have to spend another winter in Oregon....or at least in the RV.

Thats a cool looking bed that any little boy would love to have.

Housing is still dead n Florida. Greg does watch the jobs there daily but nothing so far that pays as good as we have now.

Next winter if we are here we may be in a house. We havnt decided.
His boss has told him many times that he would build him a house at cost of materials when he wanted it. Trying to keep him working for him, giving him perks like that. But we dont want to do that if we wind up moving in a year or less, thats not right to take advantage of him.
So we will see what the next few months bring.

Ok it's official,

I am frozen like a popsicle!!!!It's only 6:30 and already 28. Dropping to the teens tonight and snow flurries tomorrow

I have had to put my warmer thing around my feet 2 times today because my feet got so cold they hurt. I am probably going to have to do that again after the pups last potty break around 8 p.m. tonight. My boots are fur lined but in this cold it doesnt help.


Minnie has wrapped herself into her blanket so well all i can see if a pink blob on the couch I cant see any of her?
I have a feeling the 3 of us will all be curled up together tonight to keep warmer. I checked and have 1/2 a tank of propane so plenty to make it several days yet.

Greg I assume you have a nice fireplace to keep all of you toasty warm

If this keeps up you may wake up some morning to find me and the pups sleeping in front of it.

well gotta go and warm my heater thing, which I knew the name of this darn thing. But its great!!!

I didnt know if you were coming straight back from the cruise.

I put alot of photos in it.

I have been freezing thinking of all the nice warm places you were at. If we could have gone this week I wouldnt have froze at all.

Yeah, its 4am and I'm still awake. I'm hoping to doze off in about a half hour.

The fireplace is going and it's toasty warm! Your more then welcome to come warm your tushy here.....that would be quite a commute though?

Taking the interstate doing 80mph without potty breaks would take you 10 hours!

I tell you its 22 right now I have NO idea how cold it got during the night but I had an extra blanket on and warmed up my purple warmer and put under the covers with me. That was great.

Isee the clouds moving in now, that is the threat of snow arriving.
But unless it warmes up a lot it may be ice pellets,not snow


nothing happening here today,, nobody goes out in this cold acept those who have animals to take out.
Back later after I chip all the ice of my fingers so i can type

Now why didn't I think of that?

I'm absolutely sure my aunt will give me the keys to their new jet so I can come pick you up in Cottage Grove.

I started my flight plan: Its 548 miles from Idaho Falls regional airport to Cottage Grove municipal. At mach .85 (647 MPH) it will take me an hour and a half get there and back. At a cost of $3000 per hour it will be a total of $4500.00......will that be cash or check?

Hey, you said I was welcome to come and warm my tushy in front of your fireplace, so it should be your treat. After all you get the priviledge of not only my company but my 2 dogs. We are a package deal

Dont worry I hate little planes so it would never work. Nothing less than a 757 for me Maybe if we get enough snow, and you get some too I can hook up a sled to my dogs and try to come that way. That is if they ever come out from under their blankets

Maybe ride my quad in the snow??

We are actually up to 39 right now. Plus the sun is shinning, looks like the snow either got slowed down or missed us. But we have a very strong wind which hurts when it hits the bare skin its soooooo cold.

I will have to go to the weather site and see what it says. I am sure the snow isnt in the forecast now because it was suppose to hit this morning and we have clear skies which is probably why its going to be possibly in the teens tonight.

At least Greg will be here to take the pups out early and late. Thats his part of caring for them and i do all the inbetween walks and breaks.

I am thinking about making something special for the Rose Bowl game for munching on but not sure what. Something duck shaped or football shaped. I could do a meat loaf shaped like a football?
If I can maybe i should make some sugar free buckeye candy to CHOMP on.
I have never tried them sugar free. I will have to think about that.

i also thought about a cake that looks like a football field. But it can only be a small field, like 8 x 8. Thats all that fits in my oven unless i stick 2 of them together with frosting. I will have to make a score board with a winning score for the ducks

I forgot to say it was so cute when one of my bothers went to see my mom.
She told them she had beena naughty little kid. She had cussed at the nurses and aides. The nurse agreed and smiled at her. She wanted ice water and they didnt bring it fast enough so she cussed at them.
They told her she was being naughty.

I thought that was cute. My mom NEVER cussed!!! (maybe under her breath, but not around us) But some days she acts like a child now, getting younger by the week it seems.


I finally got to see some more paperwork they gave my brother about her and her disease.
She is almost to stage 3 and that is no way to live. I have seen people there in stage 3 dimentia. The nurses all agree they think her congestive heart failure will take her before she reaches that stage.
But she is hanging on longer than expected. She keeps bouncing back with each bad episode saying she cant die yet, she has to see her kids again. Of course she doesnt remember we were just there that day.

Also there was alist of 15 things to look for that are signals the end is near. Mom fits about 10 of them already, which was no surprize.
But it was interesting to read through.

Anyway i thought her cussing story was funny, considering my mom never raised her voice or cussed at all. It was not allowed in her home growing up. Her mom was a devout Baptist and no cussing, no drinking, no lying. She carried this to the extreme!!

I tried getting on last nite but was told it was done for upgrades.....

anyway, nothing really going on here.....just got some things done around here today, wrapped xmas gifts and did ...

so now I'm getting ready to watch amazing race....
the weather here is cold...I actually had a fire last nite and have one going now.

This was really weired......I went to put my car in garage this afternoon, and some guy was walking by,.....he say's to me....did you ever sell the house?
I guess his father-in-law had been one of the people that had looked at my house,liked it but has to sell his house. I guess he is putting up his house and wanted to know if it would go back on the market?????

Oh, private jets are so much nicer then commercial airliners.

They fly much higher and faster plus the ride is a lot smoother!.....no layovers and no security to deal with!

I think I've got everything all planned out for the trip to the Rose Bowl. We're waiting for my BIL to call to find out if he was able to get an extra ticket for me. Janel is going for sure, but if he can't get another ticket I'll stay home with the kids and Janel will fly down with her two sisters and parents to see the game.

That was a cute story about your mom being naughty and cussing.

My grandmother started talking and acting like a 3 year old once she started going downhill. It was sorta funny and sad to watch her some days.

Well Its 19 this morning and high will be 32 today and 14 tonight.
I am really tired of the cold.

My DD who is expecting this month found out she is type 2 diabetic.
The stupid doctor told her of the danger for her and the baby but didnt tell her what her blood sugar levels should be or how often to test or what to eat or not to eat.
Thye told her to go to a nutritionist but they cant see her until next month which doesnt help her and the baby for now. They did the same thing to Greg when he was diagnpsed.
I had to call the nurse and aks questions and bought 2 books to read up on it so I would know what to cook for him.

So I am sharing information with her today, recepies and general tips for healthier foods. She is so worried about the baby. One more stressful thing to deal with we dont need, so i hope she does what she should. I think she is scared enough to eat right and forget the sweets and stuff. She is a very heavy set person to start with which doesnt help. Hopefully by eating right now she will loose some weight.


Greg, telling a person who is afraid of heights that the plane goes higher for a smoother ride isnt too good. Why can't it go lower for a smoother ride
I think I will stick to my sled theory.

I hope you can go to the game but if not you will have a better view from home. Not as exciting but more comfortable.

Gotta run, need to e-mail Rachel some more receipes and tips.

Sorry to hear about your daughter having diabetes. Boy could I tell you stories about stupid doctors!...don't get me started!

I hope she's able to bring it under control with diet and exercise.

Kathy, any plane flying higher then 38 feet or faster then 50mph will kill you if it hits the ground or another object, so height and speed are all irrelevant at that point. It's just a difference of dying very slowing or instantly the higher and faster you get.

My friend who si a pilot for a major airline in CA told me its not even considered turbulance until their coffee cups hit the ceiling
They just turn n the seat belt sign for the wimps in the mani cabin so they wont get sued.
