If anyone is watching the weather, I am right in the middle of the MASSIVE snow cell passing by. SNOW EVERYWHERE!!! We got out of school 2 hours early tell that to neighborhood kids Kathy! :cool1:

- Josh

Josh, kids here would be very jealous!! They almost never get a weather related day off. Our hurricanes usually come when school is out.
But I'm sure they are all hoping the school will be destroyed so they can miss some school.
3 years ago where I lived our high school lost the gym roof which was where the kids sat and ate lunch. So for 6 months they all sat outside under a big white tarp that looked like a circus tent with no sides.
The wind was constantly blowing the rain in on the kids or the heat was 100 plus in there. So those kids didnt gain anything but misery.
Keep me posted on how much snow you get??
Are you going to watch mASH tonight?? I am just about to turn it on.

Wendy, on our news here it said that elderly lady had died, so you did have one casualty. Hopefully that is all.

We had a nasty thunderstorm for about an hour today, but thankfullly NO tornadoes this time.

well off to do the dishes,

enjoy the evening everyone,

Kathy

Kathy, there is a pretty good article on wwltv.com about the storm. So far at least she was the only death.

So anyone know how hard it is to accommodate food allergies on the cruise? I'm already thinking of boycotting lobster night due to munchkin's shellfish allergy (or that being Flounder's night!), but hubby and his milk allergy also has me thinking. He's good with some soy milk for his cereal, but how hard is it to get (or keep) soy milk on board? I know we'll have a "cooling box" versus a fridge.

Ok, off to deal with a temper tantrum... She doesn't appreciate not getting to type her own message!!!

*wave*

Brandie,
if you fill out the medical form and send it to DCL and state on it the food allergies, they will have soy milk for your DH. I know of several people with the same problem. They dont carry soy milk all the time, but if you let them know, they will have it.
My DD drinks soy milk too.

Make sure you confirm with DCL a week after you send it that they got the form, just in case. Always make a copy to keep for yourself in case they do loose the form.

Cute story to share! I got my valentine a day early! What made it even more surprising is that I didn't expect my 4yr old to think about doing one. After we finished writing names on the ones he's taking to day care tomorrow, he had a few leftovers. He told me he's thinking of a special valentine he can make for somebody else in our valentine, but that I can't watch him because I don't know who it's for and it has to be a surprise. He made sure I sat with my back to everything he was doing. He got his glue stick, leftover heart stickers from the valentines, leftover valentines, a piece of light grey construction paper, and a smaller piece of pink construction paper. Made a creation and asked, "Mom, how do you spell your name?" Wrote in his illegible writing "Tyler Mom" (all runs together) and told me with a HUGE smile on his face (and arm around me), "I made this for you. Happy Valentine's Day! It says from Tyler to Mom."

Just melts your heart, doesn't it?!

Here's a picture of what my little guy gave me. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of stuff glued together with heart stickers, but it was the way he did it, putting all his little heart into it (I could just see it on his face) that makes it sweet! Plus he cut out and glued on ALL his leftover valentines and didn't save any for himself like he originally wanted to! Kids are so sweet at this age!

Yes I did, maybe if Drew would like to make a new friend, he could be his big brother

Jason is an only child so he would enjoy being a big brother, even if only for a week! :)

Blizzard-like conditions continue here in northern Ohio and our cable keeps going out. :sad2: That means no tv or internet! It seems to be ok at the moment so hopefully it stays this way. My husband laughed and said that I would be forced to get some work done instead of playing on the internet.

Shell, the comment about the weather channel being in your back yard is a riot. Yup, that's when you know it's going to be bad!

Holly, your son's card is priceless. That's a keeper!

Glad You're Safe, Wendy!

Kathy, if you want to see snow, c'mon up. We're scheduled for 15 - 24" tonight and tomorrow. It hasn't started yet, but I can see it coming.

Out west of us near the lake they've had nearly 12 FEET!

Sleep Sweetly and stay safe.

H A P P Y V A L E N T I N E S D A Y !!!!

Holly loved the poster.
Treasure every minute of this while you can. Before you know it he will be off to college. I miss my kids being little and doing those kind of things.
Be sure and safe it and when he is older show it to him.;)

Linda, I want to see snow, not a blizzard!! I have lived in snow country before and know what drifts of 6 to 8 feet is like.

Kathy

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!! If you notice, I DON'T HAVE SCHOOL TODAY!!!! The sleet has taken a toll on the roads. Yay!!! :cool1: :cool1:

It's very cold outside, and I can hear the sleet hitting the storm door.:santa:
Pretty neat! TAlk later!

- Josh

By the way, my entire family is sick from the flu travelling around. Wish them the best! (I already had it and now I'm better)

HOLY SNOW! It's a freakin' mess here in NE Ohio as Sharon can attest to. We have a fence in the back yard that's 3-ft high, and snow mounds from drifting and shoveling just about cover it. Although it's supposed to stop snowing in the next couple of hours, the winds are high and the drifts are incredible. I'm trying to do some work from here at home and see if the roads become drivable. Now where did I leave that job posting for DCL???

My dad called a little bit ago and read me the want ads in the Orlando paper ... one was for DCL. I think I'm at my limit with this white crap up here! In fact, I've thought of Steven and his "I've never seen snow" comment a few months ago. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:headache:

I should mention that Dad's first comment was, "I remember back in '43 during the war, there was no salt for the roads ..." Yeah, Dad ... whatever!

Holly, love the Valentine's "card"! It's a keeper!!

I hear you Shell. We had SO much ice - Had about 6 inches of snow that I cleared off the driveway (what fun) and then got about another inch or so of snow then the ice started at 5 p.m. yesterday and was still icing when I went to bed around midnight. Now we have snow again. Supposedly it is going to stop around 1 so then I get to go out and chisel it off the driveway. now THAT is going to be a highlight of my winter. We haven't left the house in 36 hours and we're all getting cabin fever so as soon as they come and clean the road (hopefully they WILL do that) and I can get the driveway clean, I'm outta here!

Well, it's still snowing sideways here but it seems to be letting up a little bit. Hooray! There's no school today and I'm glad. Jason became very sick during the weekend and ended up in the emergency room Sunday evening with crupe. He's in preschool and only has class Wed, Thur and Friday and today was to be their Valentine's Day party. I wasn't planning on sending him to school today anyway because I thought he needed one more day to get better. Hopefully by tomorrow he will be well enough to go and will get to pass out his Valentines.

Shell, the weekend of Sept. 15th sounds like a lot of fun but it's questionable for me. I work part-time from home for a local community theater and that's opening weekend for the fall season. It's typically one of my busiest times but I'll mark it on my calendar and hopefully we could sneak away for the day. Thanks for including me!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

Hey all...

I'm not an "official" cruisemate yet, but it is about 99% sure I am going to book this cruise. I'm the "possible friend who may join this cruise" of Taswira's. We just got off the Magic on 2/3 on the Pal Mickey Gathering at Sea Cruise. (My Pal is one of the massueses in her sig photo!) We had such a blast and I've thought about hardly anything since!

So, if I book you'll have another Holly! I live in Tavares, FL (not too far from Kathy - I'm sort of near Mt. Dora). I figured if I jumped in the thread it'd make it feel more likely I'm going! ;)

Welcome! Beware, these people are crazy about their cruising! ;)
