So, are you saying you want me to take away his man card?
I think it would be fair that if he fights you for it, he gets to keep his man card.
If he lets it go without a whimper, though, he gets his toenails polished. Woo gets to pick the color.
So I just realized that hubby and Fiona's food allergies (milk and peanut for hubby, peanut and shellfish for kiddo) are pretty easily managed, with regards to this cruise. We just don't order shellfish or peanuts, and picky eater Huber is going to not eat what he can't anyway. *duh* We can get the sauces on the side, and do "no cheese" on his stuff. It seems like the servers are nice about bringing multiple plates of what people like, or bringing multiple things to "try out."
I was worried because I took the 2 of them to WDW last October, and when the chef was informed of their allergies, it seemed like "nothing" on the menu was safe enough for them. It was ridiculous. They couldn't eat bread or chocolate because the chefs couldn't vouch for whether or not the room the food had been prepared at had ever had a single peanut carried through! It was on and on... and so Huber didn't have a good time on the Dining Plan, nor did kiddo.
I'm not meaning so seem blase' about their allergies, but these 2 eat at Texas Roadhouse on a weekly basis. If you've ever been there, you know they have a bucket of peanuts on the table when you sit down, and TONS of peanut shells on the floor (the mom in me just goes EWWWW about that). In addition, Huber absent-mindedly took a swig of Fiona's cup of milk the other weekend and lived to laugh at himself (I don't know if I've told you, but MAN is he absent-minded!!!). He of course spit it out in the bathroom and was a little choked up (and said his mouth itched), but didn't need an Epi-Pen. Yay!
It's pretty easy to not order shrimp and lobster (for ME; I know, I'm missing out! Huber can't eat butter, so he has never had either, really). I've only once in my life -craved- lobster, and of course that happened when I was pregnant... with a kid who can't eat it.
The both of them can eat other nuts, they just can't eat the legume -peanut-, so I think we'll be fine.
What do you guys think? I'm going to be fixing Fiona's plate, and I can serve as food tester for both of them. Fiona has a habit of eating off my plate, so it'd be best if I don't order what she can't eat. *hrrrm* But I mean, seriously, Huber's gone 30 years with his allergies, and he eats out ALL THE TIME. He orders Taco Bell with no cheese, for goodness sake, and it hasn't geeked him yet.
Thanks for your opinions!
