Just got back from 4 days in Disneyland. I was wondering how hot it was yesterday and just checked accuweather. It was 104 yesterday!!! No wonder we felt like we were burning out on paradise pier!!! We did a lot of things we normally don't do and spent a lot of time hanging out at the Grand Californian. I don't think I will go in the summer again, but we had a great time!

Unfortunately you hit a really bad time to go, heat wise. However, it's not normally this hot and we don't usually have the humidity either. I was there for a few hours on Thurs. (6:30-10) and had a good time. Since it was so hot during the day, there were less people in the park than I expected. And it did cool down when the sun set though not as much as usual.

Late August/early Sept. are usually the hottest months here, so you might want to skip those, but like I mentioned, it's been unusally hot for us over the last few days, in fact, here where I live (Corona) we hit 109 yesterday and I've lived here for 6 yrs. now and that is the hottest day I can remember. (I just checked weather.com and it wasn't the hottest day, that was in 2002 it was 110!-I guess I got so hot that day that I forgot! :rotfl2: ). Our average for yesterday, in Corona is 93. Yesterday Anaheim hit 101, record is 105, but the average is 86. You can thank the remnants of Hurrican Dean for this very unusual weather. :confused3

I'm going to DL on Tuesday, in the a.m. and hope it doesn't get too hot, the forecast is for a high of 92 so it shouldn't be too bad with temps. continuing to fall.

I'm looking forward to going to WDW on Thursday to escape this heat and humidity!:goodvibes

Glad you had fun anyway! :sunny:

I hope it isnt that hot when I go the 3rd week in September. I know last Christmas I had the best weather, hot not humid or unbearable during the day and a little cool at nightI just think I was lucky :thumbsup2

this puts a really bad dent on the parades...

take yesterday... HSM2 cancelled their last show... Block party bash did a walk through to which it doesnt stop like it usually do...

I could not imaging being a character in a parade in that heat! Thats one of the reasons we don't have any fun outside stuff here in Vegas! Let's hope the temps drop, its not good for anyone visitiors or cast members.

Definitely. June/July are usually ok, but September is particularly hot around these parts, just in time for school. It hit 102° in my patio a few minutes ago.

Ouch! That would be too hot for us too. We went in July in '06, and it was hot like that. Everyone always says that's unusually hot, but it seems like it's been the case the last few years. We also don't plan on going in the summer months again. We'll do early June, where you have that "June gloom". It's not so bad, but anything after that! Whew too hot for us! Here we have no humidity where we live, so we can tell the difference in there. It's not humid like back south, but it's also not desert dry like we have here! It can make even the slighest difference in tolerating the temps!

Yes, this week has been scorching!!!! We live about 1 hr from DL (without traffic of course) in Santa Clarita and it was over 110 yesterday and just as hot today! I'm used to the So Cal summer heat but this has been unbearable!! We've been spending all our time inside or in the pool!!! This is one of the reasons I don't mind being blocked out over the summer with my So Cal AP.... I definitely don't want to be out in this heat, or even anything over 90 degrees for that matter.:cool2:

we've been baking down in san diego as well. . I just got back from doing my volunteering thing. . . thankfully they picked us to be inside in the booth, but man was it hot when we left. . . but then we got "home" and OMG it felt hotter down here then in anaheim. . .

as for the may/grey june/gloom, we did not have too many days of our greys and glooms this year. . .

I'm going 3rd week too. I sure hope its not that stinking hot. When I was there last year the 4th week of Sept, it wasn't crazy hot. It was very mild.

Wow, DL on Tuesday and WDW on Thursday :thumbsup2

Sounds like fun, I hope you have a great time!

BTW, we were at DL last Wed, it was waaay too hot for me... and I'm used to temps in PHX

It's just unbearibly hot everywhere in CA right now. We're in the bay area (technically East Bay), and it's scorchin' here too. We typically get 'Delta breezes' each night (ya know....leave the windows open cool breeze type weather), and we've had our A/C on instead. My good friends are in DL right now, and e-mailed me tonight with complaints about weather, instead of 'Ha ha, we're in Dl, and you're not!!'. It must be hot ;)

yeah... im not sure if you guys know this but because of the heat, East Side of Disneyland lost power like 10 days ago...(or more)

it is HOOOOOOOOOT!

I'd like to give major kudos to all the CMs who primarily work outdoors. :goodvibes

This hot weather is extremely, extremely uncomfortable. I went down to the parks for about five hours today and 98% of the CMs that I encountered outdoors were in good spirits and providing great service. As a guest, I can take my time, rest when necessary and go inside to escape the heat. A lot of CMs don't have the same type of flexibility. I was impressed by the level of service in the parks today, despite the difficult conditions.

We were there all of last week also, returning home on Monday.
The weather was really hot, but on a good note - it seemed to really keep the crowds down! We didn't wait in line for anything!
We took lots of breaks with our 2 boys (DS7 and DS11), and probably the best $17.00 that we spent was on one of the fan misters! I know that you can get them for 1/4 of the price anywhere else, but it was fun for the boys, and they used it constantly! Of course, we had to replace it twice, due to it breaking or not working, but Disney employees replaced it with no questions!
We had lots of water breaks, and spent a couple of hours each afternoon back at the GCH resting, so it all worked out really well! I would definitely rather battle the heat than the crowds!
And how about those 1/2 Marathoners that ran in the heat on Monday - kudos to you all! :cheer2:

I found one of those water bottle fan deals (Disney one not generic) at a thrift store $2. Thanks for the heads up if the weather stays HOT HOT HOT I'll take it with me.

I am praying this heat wave ends by the 16th. I hate the heat and i know it's going to be soooo hot!

I hope the heat wave is gone soon, my health can not take the heat, I thought September was perfect weather in CA/DL, guess I might of been wrong. Does anyone know what the weather is like today? oh, and is it true it is usually hotter in US, oh well I am so excited I don't even think the heat can put a damper on my trip! :)
