Unfortunately you hit a really bad time to go, heat wise. However, it's not normally this hot and we don't usually have the humidity either. I was there for a few hours on Thurs. (6:30-10) and had a good time. Since it was so hot during the day, there were less people in the park than I expected. And it did cool down when the sun set though not as much as usual.
Late August/early Sept. are usually the hottest months here, so you might want to skip those, but like I mentioned, it's been unusally hot for us over the last few days, in fact, here where I live (Corona) we hit 109 yesterday and I've lived here for 6 yrs. now and that is the hottest day I can remember. (I just checked weather.com and it wasn't the hottest day, that was in 2002 it was 110!-I guess I got so hot that day that I forgot!

). Our average for yesterday, in Corona is 93. Yesterday Anaheim hit 101, record is 105, but the average is 86. You can thank the remnants of Hurrican Dean for this very unusual weather.
I'm going to DL on Tuesday, in the a.m. and hope it doesn't get too hot, the forecast is for a high of 92 so it shouldn't be too bad with temps. continuing to fall.
I'm looking forward to going to WDW on Thursday to escape this heat and humidity!
Glad you had fun anyway!
