Do you have 10 digit or 7 digit dialing.

We have 10 digit here. Was traveling this weekend and asked the desk clerk at the hotel what they had and she looked at me like I was crazy.

I really wish we'd all go to 10 digit to cut down on the confusion.

10 digit and I didn't know it when we first moved here. It took me awhile to figure out why my calls wouldn't go through.

10 is not required here, but there are so many area codes in a relatively small area that I program in the 10 digits for all my contacts. We ditched a landline years ago because we felt that a family of 4 with 6 cell phones did not really need one.

I do know that when roaming, my calls wont go through with only the 7 digits.

I automatically do 10 digit.

I work in Ohio, and it's required to dial the "304" to get to West Virginia. I save everyone in my phone book with their 10 digits..
Our work number is also routed through our corporate office, two hours away, so we have to dial "740" to get the grocery store next door.

Just easier to do all 10 and not worry about getting the call going the wrong place.

I'm so behind the times I thought everyone went to 10 digits when we did. I can't even remember how long it's been like this in the Philadelphia area. It seems like at least 5 years or more.

My whole state still only has one area code, so if I'm within the state I still don't have to dial all ten to get to Southern WV... :rotfl:

10 digits here, I have a hard time just dialing 7 now when I'm somewhere that doesn't have 10.

7 in Montana - all one area code. I know some really small towns a few years ago only had 4 digit dialing.

In Indiana, we dial only 7 for all local calls and 10 for long distance. But, long distance can be within the same area code.
There are certain areas within Indianapolis that I have to dial 10 digits from my phone.

We have 6 area codes in Indiana.

7 here.. only time I dial 10 is long distance. I had no idea that some places you had to dial 10 all the time.

I didn't realize that some people always used 10 digits either. That would be very hard for me to get used to.

We are 7 in California. I thought 10 digit was only for dialing outside of your area code.

Mixed here in upstate SC. In county, or some similar geographic area, is 7 digits. But further away is 10 digits. Same area code for both. And you have to know which. 7 digits in the "long distance" area and you get the tones and a recording that the area code is needed. 10 digits in the local area will get the tones and a recording that the area code is not needed.

Its really rather annoying. So I wish we would go to all 10 digit dialing.

I was in the Atlanta area when they went to 10 digit dialing. It started out as 404 inside the perimeter and 770 outside the perimeter, then they added 678 overlay (covered inside and outside).

But I recall the television and radio ads announcing the 10 digit dialing. The announcer was all upbeat and excited like we were winning a lottery or something, and how great 10 digit dialing would be. :confused3
