Hello Everyone!

Casey,

I just love your shirts! Very impressive sewing. What a great photo of the two of you in your shirts with the character cutouts. Did you know in advance about this setting or did you just happen upon it in the parks?

Your ADRs look great!

The Princess Tea Party looks so fun and something that your daughter will remember forever!

On my mother-daughter trip we too ate at the following:
Akershus
BOG
Garden Grill

We also ate as a family at Liberty Tree. The food wasn't as good as I remembered it being in the past. Perhaps it was just the day and this time there were no characters. I wish they would bring the characters back.

I just love your shirts!

Thanks! I have so much fun making them.

We just happened upon it! That set of shirts also had my husband as the Mad Hatter and my son with Cheshire Cat. We were in the parks early for our ADR when we saw the cutouts on the construction wall. I bet they are down now.

I never went to Liberty Tree when the characters were there, I bet it was great!

It sounds like you had a little bit of the Disney magic with the discovery of the characters on the construction walls.

Winter has finally hit here today with some cold and ice. It just makes me long for the sunshine and WDW so much more.
I should be doing so housework, especially decluttering in the kitchen area. But, I am here on the DIS instead.
I am imagining myself just walking around the parks in the warm sunshine.

A solution for the tutu dresses (unless you just want a new big Disney suitcase! :rolleyes1) is space bags. Then when you get to the resort hang them in the shower area with the hottest shower setting to steam them out.

You are getting close!

What character are you looking forward to meeting at WDW? I find Marie from The Aristocats to be a very fun character to meet at the Magic Kingdom. Especially since you're a mother and have a daughter and Marie is Duchess's little daughter.

An excellent idea! And once upon a time I even had an assortment of sizes of these... I need to dig them out!

I can see you are a big Marie fan :) I actually have never met her, so she should be on our list. When I was personalizing our Magic Bands I actually had them labeled as "duchess" and "marie," for a while, but I changed it back to mommy and Sylvie before they shipped.

Do you know what days you will be at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot? Because Marie only shows up at the Magic Kingdom on non-rainy days and comes out at 10:30am. Because I remember the France Pavilion in Epcot has alot of Marie stuff including stuffed animals and shirts and even glass cups. If you spot her again when you head back to the Magic Kingdom during you're trip be sure to show her the plush of herself. You might get an even better interaction. Did you ever buy and autograph books from your past visits?

It's such a quick trip I am not sure we will make 1030, because one day that's the tea party. But it is possible! We have the Marie Tsum Tsum, maybe I should bring her along!

The Marie Tsum Tsum would be perfect to show Marie at the Magic Kingdom during your trip. Don't forget to get pictures of the encounter.

LOVE the dress...how hard was this? Was it a lot of hand sewing?

Was it a lot of hand sewing?

ZERO sewing at all! It's SUPER easy. You buy a crocheted headband thing, they are about $3 on amazon in all in the colors. Then get 100y spool of 6 in wide tulle. Measure how long you want the dress, then double that length and cut the tulle. Then just loop the strips (I did two at a time) and pull through the bottom of the headband so they are tied on. Go all the way around! If the person is tall you may need two spools of tulle. You can also get 25y rolls for the contrast color or if you want to make the tutu multicolored. I did it in an hour or so watching TV.

Love the dresses!! You're making me long for the days when my girls were little - those days are LONG gone.

Hooray - your magic bands came! I'm looking forward to getting mine in the next couple of days!

What a great day when the magic bands arrive! It just really makes it more of a reality and you know that the trip is close!

Sylvie looks so cute in her dress. It just turned out so cute! I can't believe how easy it sounds to make! If my DD was little, I would even attempt to make one myself.

It's January! party:HAPPY NEW YEAR! party:

Final countdown :)

Still no magic express luggage tags, though. I am going to call again Wednesday if they are not here by then!

I have never done a real trip report before... I think I may need to! It will be a short one but there aren't a lot of them with the princess tea party so maybe I will! I will have to clear out my phone camera so I can take all the pictures of food!!!!!

18 days to go and I made a BIG CHANGE today...

Got an email from Southwest about a fare sale... anyway I rebooked our flights home, added another night at Disney, and ended up saving money :) Here is why: Initially we were flying out at 7pm Tuesday. Arrive at 1030pm, and spend the night near airport since it is a 3 hour drive from our home in Vermont. We booked that flight because it was $89. Leaving the next morning was $169 before for the direct flight, so saving $140 it was kind of a no-brainer. Well I look again today and that morning flight is now $79. Either way I would need to pay for a hotel, and actually the cost of the airport hotel (decent hotel I would check into at 11pm by myself with my toddler) is comparable to tacking another night on at Disney, in a standard room, still at WL. Airport hotel was $175, another night at WL is $200 with my AP rate. No brainer, right??

So here is the new PLAN!

1) Now Tuesday will be a full Disney Day! I am going to change my two morning FPs to afternoon/evening. Havent done that yet to see what's available. I'm excited because a couple crowd calendars have this day as a 1/10 at MK.
2) We will check out of our CL room Tuesday and change to a standard room. According to the CL experts I still have access to the lounge my entire check out day. So even though the new room is Half price basically I am getting the same amenities... though I will have to buy my own coffee in the morning, ha ha.
3) check out early Wednesday morning, fly direct, drive to our house, arrive only a few hours after original plan.

Here's what I need to do!
1) research WL standard view a bit and see if I need to make any online check in requests, though I suspect it will not matter much.
2) Rebook some FPs (no need to use them at 9am if there is no ME to catch)
3) rebook Magical Express
4) casually mention the changes to my husband
