1 more day! Some Mother/Daughter Mischief: A Jan 2016 PTR

How exciting you get extra Disney time! I keep looking at our flights pondering if we should do the same!

It works out to about 15hrs more on our trip, and about 5-6 hours more of park time. But easywdw has the day as a 1/10 with MK being the most recommended park--- I am looking forward to a relaxing tour day! I couldn't pass it up!

PS, I told my husband when I got home from work, and he cared exactly zero, ha ha. This is why I need these boards, people to share my excitement at the little things!

I won't lie, your post made me go double check rates for us, since, like you, we are already staying in a hotel the night before we fly down. I just don't think I can make the hotel prices work out. I may keep an eye out, though!

ZERO sewing at all! It's SUPER easy. You buy a crocheted headband thing, they are about $3 on amazon in all in the colors. Then get 100y spool of 6 in wide tulle. Measure how long you want the dress, then double that length and cut the tulle. Then just loop the strips (I did two at a time) and pull through the bottom of the headband so they are tied on. Go all the way around! If the person is tall you may need two spools of tulle. You can also get 25y rolls for the contrast color or if you want to make the tutu multicolored. I did it in an hour or so watching TV.

Is the head band thingy that wide or did you have to connect a few together...It looks like we will more than likely be bringing Zoe along with on the trip this year, so thinking these may be the way to go if she wants to wear a princess dress.

Congrats on the score of an extra day in Disney!

There is a BIG difference between rack and the annual passholder rate at this point. For that random tuesday, the AP rate for WL standard room is $200. The values are all around $70.

18 days to go and I made a BIG CHANGE today...

Got an email from Southwest about a fare sale... anyway I rebooked our flights home, added another night at Disney, and ended up saving money :) Here is why: Initially we were flying out at 7pm Tuesday. Arrive at 1030pm, and spend the night near airport since it is a 3 hour drive from our home in Vermont. We booked that flight because it was $89. Leaving the next morning was $169 before for the direct flight, so saving $140 it was kind of a no-brainer. Well I look again today and that morning flight is now $79. Either way I would need to pay for a hotel, and actually the cost of the airport hotel (decent hotel I would check into at 11pm by myself with my toddler) is comparable to tacking another night on at Disney, in a standard room, still at WL. Airport hotel was $175, another night at WL is $200 with my AP rate. No brainer, right??

So here is the new PLAN!

1) Now Tuesday will be a full Disney Day! I am going to change my two morning FPs to afternoon/evening. Havent done that yet to see what's available. I'm excited because a couple crowd calendars have this day as a 1/10 at MK.
2) We will check out of our CL room Tuesday and change to a standard room. According to the CL experts I still have access to the lounge my entire check out day. So even though the new room is Half price basically I am getting the same amenities... though I will have to buy my own coffee in the morning, ha ha.
3) check out early Wednesday morning, fly direct, drive to our house, arrive only a few hours after original plan.

Here's what I need to do!
1) research WL standard view a bit and see if I need to make any online check in requests, though I suspect it will not matter much.
2) Rebook some FPs (no need to use them at 9am if there is no ME to catch)
3) rebook Magical Express
4) casually mention the changes to my husband

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I had to smile and laugh at the number 4 on your list of things to do! So, exciting to have that extra full day at Disney! Great! I love your thinking! Way to GO! I think it works out better too for leaving for home with a toddler during the day than arriving at the hotel near hte airport at home late at night.

Happy Planning!

The Pink dress looks so pretty. Are you also going to bring your Marie Tsum Tsum?

We are down to under 2 weeks to go!

Adding another day on to our reservation means we get another set of Magic Bands. I didnt think we would because it was such a late add on, but I happened to pop over the MB section of MDE and it said shipping soon... so I customized and I got a shipping confirmation the next day. Must have made it just under the wire, ha ha. I plan on decorating this set. I may steal @JReneeW duct tape idea, I love how those turned out. Or I may use the glitter nail polish we got at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique last year. Either way it will be a surprise when they come because I customized so fast that I dont remember what colors I ordered, ha ha ha!

I continue to struggle with our choice of Wilderness Lodge given the reports of heavy construction. I had no idea it was going to be effecting CL so much when I booked. Part of me is really disappointed because I want a luxurious experience. PArt of me things it doesnt matter at all, since it's DIsney it is bound to be awesome. But I am not sure I should be paying all that extra for this experience... I really want to change to GF but I can not justify the increased expense, we are talking nearly $1000 more for the change. My extreme hatred of buses prevents me from downgrading to anything where that is the only transportation option :) I will like call again next week and talk it over with the CMs, though last week they said they had no information about CL being effected at all--- which is definitely not true, since we are getting live reports of massive changes on the WL thread.

I finished the Belle tutu dress and packed it into a gallon size freezer bag. I can not believe it fit. I will leave it for two days and then take it out and see if it looks damaged. I kind of twisted it together before i put it in so I dont think it will wrinkle much. I still have to line the Aurora dress, that is on the agenda for today, actually!

Last trip we did Tinkerbell gifts every morning. This time with four mornings and one kid it will be a lot easier. I ordered a couple things from the disney store sale last week. I also have some things left over from Christmas that wouldnt fit in their stockings or I forgot about, so they should work well. I have 1) an aurora tiara, 2) an anna mini doll, 3) a stuffed minnie's birdie, and 4) one more thing to figure out.

Starting to think about what may be a good present to bring home to my son, too. Thinking a playset to go with this monorail toy... maybe the tree of life one, if I can find it outside AK, or maybe Spaceship Earth.

I started packing and realize one regular suitcase is going to be plenty of room, so I will likely just pick it up myself rather than using ME to transport it. Then I wont need a carry on at all, just a little backpack of activities for the plane.

Sorry for the ramblings! This helps me get my thoughts organized!

Yes! Decorate those babies! We are getting a second set, too. Just not sure how to decorate them (if at all) since my level of creativity has been maxed out with duck tape.

You start gifts the first morning? We are doing one gift, but I don't know if we should do it our first morning/night at POR or wait until we are in at WL.

I was surprised that the dress fit into a gallon size bag. Have you taken it out yet to see how it looked?
Cool that you get a second set of magic bands to decorate. I will have to check out the duck tape idea.

Getting awfully close now!

My two cents...keep WL. If you get there and have problems, express your concerns nicely to management. They want to keep you happy. I think you will get better service staying there and working with them if you run into problems. Plus my understanding is that the food in the CL is from Artist point and is YUMMY. If it is not tolerable, as them to move you and offer to pay the difference then.

This sounds like a good plan.

Enjoy your trip.

I did every morning last trip, but generally small things, $5 range. It was a great way to get them excited to get out of bed on those earlier mornings...

Have you taken it out yet to see how it looked?

Not yet! I finished the Aurora dress and twisted it into a bag too. Not even a tight fit. I think you also cant tell from pictures how small my daughter is, she is a tiny little peanut so the dresses arent that huge... they are all fluff! I will try and take the yellow one out today or tomorrow.

My two cents...keep WL.

Yup I have decided I am not paying to move, at least.

This is going to be a long week at work!

SINGLE DIGITSparty:

9 days until take off!

I got pretty sick yesterday with a bacterial infection in my blood.... I have a couple of antibiotics on board now and i'm tucked into bed. Glad it happened now and not next week. I should be right as rain in the next 24 hours or so. But I will be leaving on vacation a little behind at work... oh well!

It's probably time to start stalking the weather reports, now that I think of it :)

I don't like the infection, but I DO like the single digits left!

Our whole house has colds/sore throats, and we had the same thought - "Better we do this now than in two weeks!" Hopefully you'll be feeling 100% in a few days!

Sorry to hear that you have both been sick. But am glad that you will have the chance to recover before your trips! They are really close now.

SO what do the weather reports say?

Thanks I am feeling much better this afternoon. Going to go pick up the kids from school soon. I've been reading disboards all day and watched 5 episodes of Firefly, feels pretty fantastic to have a day to myself!

SO what do the weather reports say?

Looks good now but our first park day is 10 days away so way too far away to say. I dont really care about temperature but I'd love to avoid rain if possible!

Oh my! I hope you are feeling better really soon! I know you know this, but make sure to take allllllll of the antibiotics even if you feel 100%. And try to rest - I know, I know - impossible once the kids get home, but do try!
