1 crazy family+2 resorts+5 parks+1 snake+1 surprise=A Mickeystoontown report 4/3x2

Lisa....just got caught up on your report......yay! Loved your Sea World post. We live about 6 hours from San Antonio and have not visited "our sea world" in several years. Your post made me think about that and we might have to venture over there with the fam and make a "mini trip to get my mind off of Disney for at least one second" vacation ;). This year is the first time in two years that we have not taken a May Disney vacation (we were there at the same time last year and saw you guys on a bus ) and your report is making me miss not going in May this year :(. Anywho sorry for the ramble....oh and congrats on being #8! I have to say that I am surprised that this is not a more common thing with you as I have always enjoyed reading your TR's and think you are a great storyteller.::yes:: Looking forward to the next installment!

Hey Lisa- Thanks so much for the chapter links. I was behind WAY too many pages, but I caught up in a jiffy!

Congrats on your ranking in the June pod-cast Top Ten!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

Loving your Sea World posts. We had quite a gap in our SW trips as well. We went in 2004 when the boys were 6 and 3 and we returned a couple of years ago when the boys were 13 and 10.

Your flamingo picture reminds me of my first visit to SW as a high school senior. I have photos of frisky flamingos!

Love your pictures from the turtle exhibit. We haven't seen the show. Sea Turtles are one of our favorite marine animals.

When you titled your chapter "No way we can go up there" I thought you were talking about the observation tower.

I am so glad you got to see the sea lion show. It is too funny!

Hooray on your DIS meet. Sounds like you had a pleasant visit. And how lucky to have your own junior marine biologist to help you in the shark exhibit.

Great jaws photos.

The lion fish picture is really cool. I love the look of them. We actually saw one when we were snorkeling in Mexico in February, but that is not a good thing. Not just because they are poisonous, but because they are a really invasive fish and very dangerous to the native fish in a reef.

Just caught up! I went down the Cape (cape cod) and tried to find some sharks for you, alas there were none.....well none that i could see. I DID however go to the "Jaws Bridge" on Saturday on Martha's Vineyard, I didn't jump off this year though. Your Shark tank photo made me think of that. I am completely STUNNED that Hunter would suggest pizza lol. Sounds like you all had a great visit with Lovethattink. JJ sounds like a very fun kid! Kinda excited about the Whale show photos!

Hey ya'll! I tried to reply to most posts Friday and had intentions to finish up this weekend. However, the remodel is still going strong (we keep adding more and more things to the list) and then the internet was out when I did have a little bit of down time.

Work is busy busy busy right now. Lots of fussin' and fightin' going on in the family law world and I'm not talking about the bickering that my boss and I do. ;)

Hoping to get an installment written up and posted either today or tomorrow. It all depends on whether or not I get this succession and a divorce pleading done this afternoon.

Just a note: If any of you ever need a succession/probate proceeding done, please do not agree to sell your deceased parents' home and schedule a closing in less than two weeks. :( We're definitely going to have to jump through hoops to get this one done. :faint:

TTFN!

2 weeks?! Wow, good luck!

Mark that one off your bucket list Mamaw!

It was almost time! Time for what? It was whale time baby! :cool1: My 79 year old mother had never seen a in-real-life whale and it had been quite a long time since the rest of us had. We walked towards the Shamu Stadium and were happy to realize that we could enter at the top of the theater thus cutting out the need to climb a crapload of stairs. :thumbsup2

Before going into the theater though, we stopped and used our free dining bracelets on a couple of drinks and some coffee. The coffee is not included in the dining plan but the older gentleman behind the counter took pity on John’s need for coffee and gave it to him anyway. Such a sweetie! The castmember...not John. :rotfl: Well, John’s a sweetie but the guy was sweeter for giving it to him. ::yes::

We entered the theater and saw that we were about 3/4th of the way up and there were some pretty good seats just a little ways up. The steps weren’t narrow which is a good thing for Mama because she can step up with one foot and then step on that same step before going up again. Shoot, that’s not just a good thing for older folks, it’s good for everybody. We got all settled in and enjoyed on our drinks and coffee while waiting for the show to begin.

In these next two pictures, you can see where our seats were located and John enjoying his free-it’s-not-really-included-in-the-dining-plan-but-I’ll-still-let-you-have-it coffee:

There was a bit of pre-show “entertainment” in the form of a game where you chose a certain animal, texted in your name and choice and then watched to see which animal won a race or something. I don’t remember exactly how it went but it distracted your attention from the fact that it was sweltering hot outside and you were sitting on metal stadium benches.

As I was looking through my pictures, I saw a couple of “selfies” that Hunter and I took and wasn’t going to post the first one of the two below (I look like I have a massive waddle under my chin) until I saw that the guy behind us photobombed us and I had to post it:

The anticipation started to build after a while and we were ready for a whale show! Come on you Sea World bring out the big guys (and gals?)

Oooh, I see something dark in the water!

There they are!

Get ready for picture overload. I took so many pictures and a lot of them didn’t turn out worth a poo because I would be snapping while still watching. I didn’t want to just see the show behind the camera.

You may see pictures of the school/youth groups in some of the pictures. I think that we counted at least ten different t-shirt colors and there were probably even more. The entire show, you could hear their squeals and laughter.

I’ll zip it now and let the pictures do the talking:

***These are pictures that Hunter took with the other camera and, again, get ready for picture overload:

As the show ended, we all exhaled and looked at each other and smiled. What a wonderful wonderful show! My Mama had seen a real-life whale! Mark that one off your bucket list Mamaw!

**Up next: Gettin’ wild! Ooooh, he’s so gonna bust that glass!

Oh, that just melted my heart that your mom was finally able to see a whale! Did she enjoy it?

Your pictures bring back good memories for me! We used to have a Sea World here, and we were so sad when they closed it. DH and I were just saying the other day how sad we were that it wasn't so close anymore while our kids are growing up!

Those are great pictures!!!! I haven't watched the whale show since I was a teenager. The last time I went, in 2010, I wasn't feeling good and left early without watching it.

Yay for the whales! You guys got some great shots! I hope mamaw was happy with it!

We are hoping to see some in the wild in just a few weeks in Alaska! I can't wait and now I'm even MORE excited!!!

I could only see the first ten or fifteen of the photos in the last update. But apparently that's just me. Oh well.

Amazing pictures :goodvibes loved seeing them. You and Hunter look great in your pictures and you dont have a massive waddle under your chin ;)

I'm in and all caught up. I've read some of your past reports and always enjoy following along. We will be in "The World" next May. When is your trip? I'd love to meet a celebrity :worship: for a quick photo shoot. :yay:

What a show, orcas are just the most amazing animals to watch! So glad your mom got to mark that off her bucket list, that's a pretty awesome one to check off!
