Okay, this is a mother bragging so....you have been warned!

The picture of Kayla was taken when she was 6 years old. She had decided to be part of the Little Miss Pageant - (something I could never be in either through looks or desire). I told her that I'd take her to the rehearsals and pageant but I was NOT going to be a stage mother and she was on her own. She was "Miss Independent Woman" to begin with so this was fine with her.

She didn't win, place, show or even get an honorable mention in the Pageant. When it was over she congratulated the winner and came over to me. I thought she would be devistated like so many of the other little girls - but she smiled and said, "Mommy, thank you so much for letting me do this. I had a wonderful time." Then she posed for this picture. I was never so proud of her in my whole life because in her "losing" - she really won.

That was the gift of Kayla. Even knowing that I'd lose her at the age of 7, I'd go through it all over again (gladly).

Little Angel Kayla was so wise beyond her years. It is so sad that so many adults don't have the wisdom that she had in her brief time on earth.

George-- What an interesting family history. Don't all of us have our family quirks. I also have some Irish on my grandfathers side (Meloy). My favorite stories from him were the Irish Funeral stories that he told. The Irish certainly know how to celebrate a persons life after they have left this world. At least according to my Grandfather.

Karen--- So glad that a Wal Mart opened near you. I can't imagine having to drive so far to get to one. Norm probably wishes the Wal Mart was that far away. It is only a little over a mile from my house. I could walk to it, but how would I get everything home.

Cathy-- I will not tell Norm that the Haunted Mansion is closed, since that is his favorite ride. Hopefully, it will be open by Oct when we are there.

No documents for me yet.

Mary--- I canceled my Grand Cayman excursion, so that I can join you on Capt Marvins

Jul--- When you are finished packing, just come west to my house.

Got to get back to all my hockey email. Everyone is jogging for position to get into the tournament. It is like a feeding frenzy.

Nancy..glad to hear you will be with us on the Capt. Marvins tour!

Everyone...I am going to be sending out a list tonight. I have added the new cruisers, even though several have not e-mailed me their info. I can add it later, if they wish.

For those who have asked:
the "M" means Main seating for dinner
the "L" means Late seating for dinner
the "B" means you are joining the DIS BRUNCH. This will take place at 10:30 on MONDAY (first "sea day")

A "CM" under to cabin # means you are going on the Capt. Marvins StingRay City tour. I belive most are doing the 1/2 day tour at 10 am.

The count is currently 48 adults, 30 children. This count does not reflect the cruisers SusanD, Tcjp4me,mbaxende, or Carolrie as I do not have the number of people in their parties yet.

Remember..if you want to get the goodies, you got to get on the list

I am excited beyond words. The cruise is almost here and I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

@Goofynut - there is a limit of two bags for carry-on, but on my trip to Atlanta - people were bringing suitcases that were huge and stowing them as carry-on's.

Hello everyone,
I am hoping that everyone that will be meeting with me at 0 Duval Street at Bill fish Pier will especially read this - I was having the mayor of Key West personally meet each of you, but he has to be out of town that weekend so we are having the commissioners of KW come down and personally thank you for coming to Key West - they will be at the Bill Fish Pier when we are there at 5pm - I am also hoping that we will be able to provide music to really make you feel "at home" such as relaxed and laid back as the original conchs were once upon a time -
This is why it is so important that I know about how many will be making it to the chosen spot.
I know each of you are getting super excited - I am too and I am from Key west

I saw my name and thought I would let you know how many in our party. That would be two...my husband and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary and our two teenage boys will be staying at home with their grandparents. Hurray!!!

DD1 is back today and we are learning to digitize finally! The lady who first showed us didn't have much more knowledge about it than we did. The technology on my machine was too new.

I'll take a hug anytime ... especially today (not a banner morning!)

While I was at the hospital waiting for my tests I was reading a paperback Chicken Soup for the Soul and there was a really nice one in there on "HUGS".

Is it me or are all the shows on 9-11 killing you guys ... I thought it was too much to bear last year when it happened but the more I learn from "behind the scenes" the larger and larger that tragedy gets. Pixie Dust, Pixie Dust, Pixie Dust to all who where touched by it. May that never happen in our country again and I'd like to yogel that guy that wants to take GOD out of the Pledge of Aligence (sp sorry). OK I vented and now I feel better.


Back to good thoughts...

Rae ... What a beautiful Angel you have. Bet God sure is glad she is in his flower garden.

Shirley ... Didn't know "we" (our DIS Cruisears) were such celebrities to rate the press. We'll be with the rest of the group for the Key West meet. 2 adults (actually kids at heart). How nice of you to do this for us.
