Elaine, Glad to hear your Dad is doing better.

Conversation with DS (age 4) on the way to school last week.
DS: When we go on that big boat who is going to drive?
Me: The Captain.
DS: Oh, you mean daddy?
Me: No, not daddy. There will be another Captain.
DS: Oh, what's his name?
Me: Captain Hans.
DS: Oh,..... does he have any feet? :jester: LOL

I know Capt. Hans is no longer with Dis. but couldn't think of new Capt. name.
Later, Ave'

Hey Everyone,

Just a note to say hello to everyone and welcome aboard to Mbaxende.

Renee, the aircraft that crashed was coming from Marco Island but reported no engine problems. It is fairly certain that the brakes failed on rollout.

Elaine, hope your dad gets to feeling better. Vickie's Father and brother are visiting this weekend and her father has sure had his share of heath problems also.

Well got to go and get ready to go to one dinners (I think they are called progressive) where you go to someone's house for salad and another one for the main courese then on someplace else for desert. Whew I'm alread tired.

Ready for vacation.

See You Real Soon111:p

Papa, I just looked at the key west cam. the habour one. it is 145 here now., Is that the Magic? Don't know what the time difference is between here and there? Thanks Elaine

Elaine Key West is on eastern time and I think that you are on mountain time which is 2 hours behind Key West. If you are on Pacific it is 3 hrs. Mike

PS Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. Never thought that I would be married for 30 years:bounce:

Has anyone done, or know someone who has gone to stingray city? can you get to them from teh beach or do you have to rent a boat to go out to them? we are considering renting a car on Grand Cayman and just hitting the tour spots on our own. Any suggestions?

You do have to take a boat to Stingray City. It is apparently off shore. A bunch of us are scheduled to go with Captain Marvin's excursion, and you are welcome to join us.

Karen

Hi All,

Glad I found "the group" before we went! We will also be there on the 28. It will be me, DH, DD1 (almost 2) and DD4. We can't wait! We went last year on the 4 day, but this is our first 7 day. We will also be going on a Captin Marvin's stingray city at 11:15 I think. Maybe some of you will be there also? See you all there!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Hi Carolrie!

Welcome to the "9/28" group! If you have any questions, don't heistate. Most answers can be found here, and if not, there are many knowledgeable people who are very happy to direct you to the source.

My son (age 7) and I are only doing one excursion - horseback riding on Grand Cayman, Nicki's. It's 1 1/2 hrs. on the beach and we can't wait. I would snorkel but I wear glasses and can't see anything without them.

I am sure that you and your family will really enjoy the 7 night cruise. Our first was the 3 nighter and we couldn't wait to get back and stay longer! Good choice and you can't ask for a nicer bunch of people to be with!

Hurrah!

Rae

Hello to all,Welcome newbies, Happy birthday's, and Happy Anniversary's I hope that covers everything so I can get caught up. So busy at work trying to prepare liquid mfg. for cold flu season and for the new liquid area that I have just caught up with the last couple of pages. Just waiting for US Air to call and move our flights around (Murphy's Law and my Mom's maiden name is Murphy). Last cruise (2000) we waited for Hurricane George to disrupt our trip. I stayed up till 3 AM watching the weather channel and our limo picked us up at 6:00. I can never sleep anyway the night before we leave for Disney, worse than a kid. Wanted to sleep this morning but there is a house they are building behind us and the rough carpenters started at 7:00 and the windows were open. I wanted to do something not so nice with his hammer. Use to be a farm behind us and I guess I wanted it to stay that way but with what they are getting for the land up here I can't blame the family for selling. Hope all the families are doing well and the children do great in school. Have a great week everybody and a nice Labor Day. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

The workers are starting at 7AM? And on Labor Day?!
I'm impressed and sorry for you, thesorcerer1!

When we had our roof and siding done, they never showed up until 10, worked til 11:30, came back at 2 and left at 3. Long story, but suffice it to say the job was not completed for 4 months and that took a "Call for Help" to our local TV to get them to finish up!

Hey, guess what other country folks - our septic is failing! Ohh, for the job of it all!

But hey, I'm alive, breathing and the sun is shining on another day close to vacation!

Rae

Sorry to hear that Rae. Do you use the bacteria that you place in the septic every month?

Hammering at 7:(

Everyone have a nice labor day!!!! Mike

Carolrie - Welcome aboard from the northern end of the group...

Sorcerer1 - Also have a "Murphy" connection on my mom's side.
~ Just one boat load of those Irish immigrants after another~
~ No wonder we like to go "cruising" ~

mbaxende - Research indicates that you can do a lot of snorkeling in/around the Island but like Rikersmom indicates, boat required for stingray city. As I remember it, location is a couple miles off-shore at sandbars ...

TWINS ~ You have been noticeably quiet of late ~ All okay?

Well .... Too much rain to fish/golf today so I will pursue that other four letter word ~ WORK ~ Perhaps the onslaught of requirements tommorrow will be less invasive on my sanity........

Hi everyone,

welcome to all the new people. Had to catch up on numerous pages.

George-- You have the carpenters. I have the tree cutters down the street but the buzzing came right into the bedroom window. They at least waited until 7:30am. I guess with the rain they are behind schedule. Grass is now green and needs mowed. It is amazing how fast it turned green after several days of rain.

Rae-- Yesterday when I got change I got 2 Indiana quarters. They must be starting to circulate them. I will put one in my quarter collection.

Mary---I waved to you at the Darlington race. I thought they might not get it in, but they did and Gordon won his second race in row. Can you tell I like Gordon and Dale Jr? Norm really dislikes Jeff, but can tolerate Dale Jr. So how many hours did you sit in traffic for the ride home?

Elaine-- Now have DS#1 and our vacation scrapbook caught up. Working on DS#2, so hope to have it done by vacation time.

Karen---How is Riker? Did you go to the eye vet? Been thinking about him.

Sept is here and this is always a busy month for me, so hopefully the time till we cruise will go as fast as it normally does in Sept for me. I now must concentrate on doing the Ice Hockey Tournament stuff. I'm getting more hockey email then Dis email.

Hope everyone has a safe Labor Day.

Nancy

Rae--sorry about the septic. I have a lot of friends who have been through this. They always seem to fail at a bad time--of course, when would it be a good time? Both Ed & I wear glasses, and we're still doing Captain Marvin's. I figure that we can stand in the water with the stingrays. If it's too deep in other places, we'll just float around. If nothing else, we'll have a nice boat ride and watch everyone else. My poor sons were doomed--both parents have rotten eyesight. My younger son had laser surgery, so he threw his specks away. The rest of us are not brave enough. Great bargain on a waterproof camera at Walmart--$7.02. We also got some eyeglass straps to be sure we don't lose our glasses if a big wave hits. I probably sound like Ma Kettle--check out the deals at the Walmart. We're all pretty excited here because we just got a new Walmart and Sam's Club. The closest Walmart used to be about 50 minutes away. Guess we're in the big time now.

I get to work this afternoon. I always complain about going to work on holidays, but I'm okay once the pixie dust hits. I'm always amazed how many people go to the malls on holidays. Lots of them are just walking around, and they seem to feel a need to stop at the Disney Store. You know, Mike, I bet some of them are trolling. I never thought of that before.

In just a few weeks now, we'll be sailing...

Karen

Welcome Carolrie ... I'm sure you will find us a fun bunch. If you guys are interested in having name tags, let me know. i'd hate to leave anyone out!

Yesterday it rained all day ... today is not looking much better.

I'm with the rest of you and floating around if unable to snorkel. hey what the heck the water is beautiful anyway you look at it!

So many disposable underwater cameras ... guess we really need to find some way to label, tag or mark them so we will know who they belong to ... they all look alike!

Check with you all later .......
