Good morning Member Cruisers
We sail in 4 weeks!

Remember too that cut off for buttons is August 31st! So if you have been lurking until this point come and say hi on the thread and then send in your info! Sorry - no posting no button. Also remember we need your room number as well but won't post it if you don't want it posted. That concludes this PSA. :)

Well Bruce was busy over night. :lmao: Congrats on the pirate!

What was the name of the Boat Shaped restaurant now called the Portobello Yacht Club?

I'm' pretty sure Portobello has always been Portobello.

It was the Empress Lilly. My wife and I went there New Year's Eve 1984 on our Honeymoon,

Ah - that isn't Portobello. That is Fulton's Crab House. Portobello is the restaurant right next door. The actual boat which used to be the Empress Lily now holds Fulton's. We used to love the Steerman's Quarters on the Empress Lily and had some great meals there. We had our 2005 DIS meet right outside there before DVC's Bon Voyage Party.

The restaurant on the top floor of theContempory is the California Grill, It used to be a Dinner Theatre.

Anybody remember what it was called?

The Top of the World Supper Club. Went there a couple of times for dinner and a show. They used to have an awesome Sunday Brunch as well.

Before Downtown Disney... The was a Group of Clubs Called Church Street Station. What ever happened to that and where was it?

I remember Church Street Station. I believe it was over on I-4 but we never went to it. Not sure what happened to it.

Since everyone seems fine with the Promenade Lounge as our meeting place that's what we'll use.

DIS meet 3pm Sunday September 21st in the Promenade Lounge! Hope to see you all there!

BTW for those looking to make Palo reservations. When you board the ship you will make a right through the middle of the elevator bank and head forward. That will take you on to Route 66 where they normally have the reservation tables set up in the lounge (check the paper you get when you check in to be sure).

Good morning you two.

Fay never really came to see us. It was just a wet drizzly day all day. It just went all around us. I did get a lot of work done around the house.

Happy Sunday.

I got corrected by Nancy she has Hazle eyes:rotfl2::rotfl2:.
27 DAYS 16 HOURS UNTIL WE CRUISE

Thanks Dan - I'll fix accordingly. Have a great Sunday!

Glad to hear you didn't have too much impact from the storm. Is Fay finally going away? I sure hope so.

Glad to hear you didn't get much of the storm. It was real bad in some places down there.
We must be getting close yesterday Nancy started orginazing cloths and did some pressing of a couple of my shirts I will be wearing. We will start getting out things and putting them in the spare bedroom IE grand kids playroom:lmao:.

Dress for Palo is cruise casual. I usually wear capri's and a nice top while Mark is in docker's and a polo shirt. As long as you aren't in shorts, t-shirts, and bathing suits you should be fine for brunch.

Is it the same for dinner? I always over pack and I just want enough this time.

Just finished watching the US men's basketball. That was amazing and too close. It's great that these rich NBA players will risk their livelyhood and chances of injury to play for their country. The DVR cut off right before the National Anthem. I hope NBC plays it again.

Roger signed up for dinner when he couldn't get brunch. It's a grat meal but I don't want to bring all those dress clothes. I am into packing lightly for this one. T-shirts shorts and bathing suit!!!!

I was watching the ship in port this morning - what fun! So if folks really dress for Palo for dinner and you don't want to pack a bunch of dressy clothes, is dinner in the main dining rooms that much more casual? What are the chances really, of getting a brunch ressie on board?

Dinner is dressier at Palo than brunch is. For dinner I would do a nice dress, skirt set, or dressier pant set for women. For men I'd say at least a collared shirt and tie, while many men also go with jackets.

For dinner in the dressing rooms it is more cruise casual. Last year they did have a more "formal" night for the Legends Ball but I honestly felt it wasn't worth dressing up for and if they do something similar this year I think we'll skip it.

I think as long as you are at the port early and in the first couple of boarding groups you should be fine getting a brunch reservation on board.

So Joanne, does that mean you guys will not be trying to get into the brunch? I'm not taking anything extra for it if we do get in - I'll just wear whatever I wore one of the 2 previous nights.

Nancy
